Ranked PvP is 3% of this game... or less. Balancing the entire game specifically for this is not exactly good, as it will ruin other aspects.

 

Both Merc and Sorc are balanced by the fact that they will be interrupted..... if the interrupt is no longer an issue they will rebalance the class lowering your defensive CD`s, self healing and so on....

 

I sincerely hope you never ever ever ever work in game design in your life (aside from graphics only).

 

While your general thought process is true, in the SPECIFIC case of the current Mercenary/Commando dps, this is not true because the class doesn't function well in terms of defensive cooldowns and interrupt susceptibility, both areas are lacking in pvp. If you buff both, it will not effect pve in a negative way because the class is underperforming already. If you don't agree, well then I think you are one of the dillusional people who are balancing this game and still haven't noticed not only the amount of players seriously using this AC in pvp ranked, but also the rating of this AC on leaderboards compared to every other class, it's in LAST PLACE for crying out loud by far.

Class changes are up and alas.... no changes for Commandos/Mercs. You (and the other Devs) make me a sad Jawa. :jawa_frown:

 

Mercenary/Commando healers are very effective now. Mercenary/Commando DPS are topping the charts. Even the top parse of the recently-buffed-to-the-stars Concealment/Scrapper hasn't topped the highest Mercenary/Commando parse.

 

This advanced class received no changes because it needed no changes. At this point, utility and usability come down to individual player skill.

Translation:

 

Class X sucks because it is too powerful/too weak. Nerf/buff Class X now!

 

The preceding translation applies to every MMO with PvP ever made. The arguments are identical to ones in Meridian 59, Darksun:Online, and every other game with PvP since Columbus discovered the internet.

This is why PvP ruins PvE games. Always causing constant balance issues and wrecking stuff in PvE.

 

No, actually it is the other way around. PvE ruins pvp balance all the time. You can scale pve to whatever difficulty you want. You cant scale a player. Thus pvp balance should always take precedence.

Im pretty sure raid bosses dont chain interrupt you, preventing you from using any of your important set-up abilities :rolleyes:

If you think re-rolling means re-speccing, you're probably not worth my time.

 

Re-spec to not be so cast dependent? Is there suddenly a way to respec my skill tree to Vanguard? :confused::rolleyes:

 

Combat Medic: 2 main heals are cast

Gunnery: main set-up ability which the entire tree is based around is cast, largest damage dealer is a channel.

Assault: main set-up abilities are cast and channeled.

 

Which spec am I supposed to play that is not required to spam casts to maintain competitive damage/healing output?

But the other side of that coin is, the under performing DPS spec for Mercenary/Commando is the lowest DPS spec of all classes right now.

You can't expect them to make every single spec balanced in power. At least Assault/Pyro is very close to the top.

why bother when it changes nothing? This is nothing more then a "feel-good" PR move...you're don't actually do anything with the issues brought up...and last time didn't you end it early?

 

it's a waste of everyones time..just so you can fake some good PR.

Yes we can, and should.

 

no you can't and shouldn't. Unless every class is the exact same you CANNOT have "balance" it is impossible....there will always be a class just at the top and one at the bottom...with the rest inbetween. there is no such thing as balance unless it's a completely level playing field (and that means everyone is the same..same skills..same health..same abilities..same EVERYTHING)

 

so go ahead and expect away...just don't be surprised when your expectations never come..regardless of the company

100% balance is unattainable, yes. But I dont think it is unreasonable to expect that every skill tree be viable in PvE and/or PvP to a point. The imaginary +/- 5% performance rate that the devs have shot for (and missed by many miles) is what most people are talking about when they say that the game should be balance all the way around.

 

Youre going to have a tough time arguing that every skill tree is viable in its role throughout PvP/PvE in this game. There are ACs/specs with very clear and significant advantages in certain aspects of the game.

The mando/merc changes already happened with 2.6. You may well feel they are inadequate, but that is not unique to your class. Sorcs that want to heal in PVP feel the same way as Bioware seems more interested in buffing our hybrid specs(!!!) than actually fixing our talent trees to make full 36-point builds viable in competitive play.
