  2. Lets be very, very clear about something here. The majority of people actually interested in regularly doing 8v8 Ranked again have left the game, and those that are still here are doing 4s because *they enjoy the competitive nature*. You remember that huge 'bring back ranked 8s' thread when they got removed? The stupidly high majority of the posters in that thread *never* did 8s. And if 8s were brought back tomorrow, the majority of people saying theyd want to play would quit them within a week of losing to better teams. I am not talking about the entire PvP population. I am talking about the insanely small group of competitive players that remain in this game. That population cannot afford to be split any further, because it is already below a sustainable number with only 4 man groups required to participate.
  3. There is no point to bringing 8v8 back. It would only serve to additionally split the PvP population, which already has enough issues.
  4. There should really only be 1 arena map. It should be a basic symmetrical design, with neither side having any kind of terrain based advantage. The 'unique locales' are cool for PvP maps, but arena specifically is about creating a competitive environment. Not to mention some players have poor performance on some maps. If this Rishi map has the same stupid 'haze' that has an inexplicable negative impact on FPS, a lot of people are going to be unhappy.

  7. I was referencing other rating mechanisms that have been suggested in the past that would be better than what we have now. I was not saying that the OP's suggestion was a good one. Straight up W/L works perfectly fine for 4s. It is an absolute piece of crap for Yolo queue. Best way to solve that problem imo is to just remove yolo queue as a ranked gametype.

  10. This is something you should have done ages and ages ago when we first suggested it to you, when there was still a decent sized (albeit) small group of competitive players left that cared.
  11. Who cares. Really. This game has no competitive PvP.
  12. Bioware already balances around the performances of the majority of players. Balance, specifically PvP balance, needs to be done with the most competitive players and competitive environment in mind. If you dont, and you balance around improving the majority of players (who are pretty bad), you end up making players with any modicum of skill into beast-mode OP players. Your entire post is 100% what is wrong with the PvP community in this game.

  14. Star Citizen isnt pay to win. You will be able to buy any ship completely by playing the game once it is released. Buying ships now is the community's way of supporting the development of the game. And the most expensive ships are the largest, they dont really compare to the smaller fighters in straight up combat. Entirely different roles.......

  17. No thanks, RNG is idiotic. This is just an artificial way to lower damage outputs. Would rather have that actually addressed in a proper manner. A good start would be to implement a DR curve to Bonus Damage, fix the DR curve of Crit Chance from Crit Rating/Main Stat to not suck complete butt, and for tertiary stats to have their DR curve improved to also not completely suck. You get such little returns on stacking anything besides Power/Surge that for most people its not worth even thinking about other stats.
  18. What kind of PvE gear were you using? Did you properly utilize Bolster in order to have competitive stats? There is no excuse for having sub 2018 expertise, ever. If you go into a WZ ill prepared, you might as well be going in to lose. Start taking responsibility for your own fk ups. There is a very, very clear cause and effect going on here: you do something bad -> you get called out and likely insulted b/c of it. Thats the internet for you; dont like it, you can g t f o. And just to be clear here, Im not saying being mean to other people in the game is a good thing. And Ill be the first to admit I am likely one of the top offenders, which is certainly not my strong suit. But after hundreds of attempts to provide helpful advice before ridicule only to be completely ignored or insulted back, Im not wasting time attempting to be nice. If you do something stupid and I see, Ill be letting you know about it in a less than cordial manner. However, if someone approaches me looking for guidance on anything, I am more than happy to provide as much help in a friendly manner as possible. Bottomline, this is happening for a reason. If you want it to stop, the best way is eliminate the original cause.
  19. Overkill (damage beyond what it takes to kill an opponent) does not count towards "Biggest Hit". Which sucks, but meh. Pre 2.0, my biggest hit ever as a Pyro Merc was a 5k Thermal Det (was using HVGC before PPA was locked to CGC only) but it was a killing blow and didnt count so I didnt get a screeny of it lol. I dont know about where you say you hit someone with full health for 10k, but it comes up as 8k. Ive never seen that bug, could be an isolated issue
  20. Elo rating +/- for a match is determined at the start. For Ranked, 3v4 Elo penalties are only assessed if Round 1 starts with players missing. If someone leaves mid-match, it does not effect Elo earned/lost. The entire Ranked Elo system and matchmaking needs to be re-done in this game. Wont be happening tho.
