Screwing Players on the Founder Title

Recommended Posts

I received an email, like many others I'm sure, stating that I have received the Founder title. ..

Of course, you didn't really get it, it's an item in your mailbox that expires very shortly! Hope you get it in time or your screwed! (We did the same thing for your pre-order items too! Haha!) Sincerely, Bioware

Yeah.. I received the email informing me of earning the Founder title in the afternoon when I was still at work. By the time I got home, the items were going to all expire in 20 minutes so that I actually had to log on to each character individually and travel however long it is to the nearest mailbox, loot it, and use it. Rinse and repeat. All the while under a time limit.

Clearly, sending players items for titles (or pre-order items for that matter) is incredibly stupid, they will likely expire by the time they realize what happened, or instead you give them the tedious chore of traveling to mailboxes on every single character. Really? You should redo this whole thing and just automatically give the title to their characters, that is the simple and user-friendly solution that doesn't punish players who don't have all day to play and notice the time-limit for an "earned" title.

There is a time requirement? I have mail with attachments that are 20something days old.

Same here, if you don't get it in that amount of time then it's your fault. But if it's disappearing from your mailbox quickly then it's probably a bug. Have you submitted a ticket?

As I've observed it, in game mail counts up, not down. I've got mail marked at 14 days. It's been in my inbox for 14 days. I've still got the message about my preorder crystal for my first character from early access.

I think you'll find that it wasn't a 20 minute expiry, but that it had been in your mailbox for 20 minutes.

Wait, what? So you're saying my Founders title has expired since I haven't logged in today after getting the mail?

Both the collector's edition items and the pre-order crystal gave you 30 days to pick them up.

While I would prefer to be able to keep my mail and not risk items disappearing, the 30 day time limit should allow you enough time to pick up your things as long as you actually play the game from time to time.

Having said that, I'd love some way of storing my mail, I hate that I'm starting to lose my story mails.. :(

Yeah.... Mail counts up, I have characters that I created day 1 of early access, and have NEVER taken the mail out for my CE stuff and my pre-order crystal, just checked it today to pick up my Founders title, still there. So instead of griping on the forums, you should of made a ticket in game that your mail was ticking down.

It's amusing that this guy couldn't figure out, especially since the same screenshot shows multiple older messages all counting up the older they get.

Again, I recieved the mail at 10 PM GMT+1. I took that screenshot at 4.18 AM GMT+1.. If its how old the mail is, then 3 hours would be a bit off would it not.

Right and thats whY i had the mail in my mailbox since 10 pm gmt+1. As you can see I took that screen a few minutes ago. at 4.18 AM gmt+1.

Is 10pm when you received the email from bioware telling you that you received the title? Because it doesn't go into your in game mail box until you log into the game.
