  1. I wouldn't mind a clientside setting to turn off physics entirely, and then have prefab animations like most MMO's do. Not sure it's worth the effort though, unless perhaps there is a performance gain from not using physics.
  2. Perfectly viable strategy, as long as nobody saw you do it. Two strongs are... stronger, generally, than one champion. Either cloak and go poof and try again(you need to let them pop you out of stealth and hit you a couple times, or it bugs out in my experience), or go into healbot mode and make sure you are healing both you and your companion. I find it easier when using a DPS companion to keep aggro on myself and help them focus one down but keeping myself healed as a priority, and use your stuns on the one and dont try to juggle so many targets. The problem with trying to tough it out is that while leveling you and especially your companion are likely undergeared, so sometimes you will just get your blaster handed to you. If you can't outheal it you can't outheal it. Part of being an Operative is using stealth as your advantage and setting up a pull, if you make a mistake you're supposed to pay for it IMO.
  3. /popcorn It's just worthless game currency guys.
  4. There is no reason for it, aside from some smuck at EA thinking it makes them more money. Whether or not they give enough notice about early access is completely irrelevant to the problem.
  5. There should be enough solo content to hit 60, it's a normal thing to expect in an MMO that people play mostly for its solo content. All they need to do is tweak a few numbers, it's a legitimate complaint.
  6. ^ Ideas SHOULD be copied, it's how stuff gets better. There is no one game in existence that did not copy things from something else, even Pong. WoW copied, WoW improved, other games copied and improved, and now WoW just copies those improvements other games/addons make. Besides the old tree system was useless. There was no choice in how you specd, it was 80% passives that everyone always took and you had like what maybe 3 actual skills per tree? How was that good?
  7. Thats what I did, it came down to Operative just fitting much better with the missions thematically than a Sniper does. And their gadget skills all make way more sense than they do with a Scoundrel. IMO Slinger seemed a little silly at first, but it kinda grew on me. I had tried a Sniper before and hated "sniping" from such a close range. Sniper Rifles are best rifles though.
  8. Why does CTRL still stop you from moving forward? Why doesn't hitting Enter log in your character? Why is there no mouseover healing? What is the meaning of life? Why do companions still flex around like a pretzel when it would be perfectly normal for them just stand there and not to stare at you all the time? Edit: I changed my G600 keys to use Numpad 1-9, requires having Numlock on though. Duno if you can do the same with yours or not.
  9. How many people are really going to buy multiple sets of the stuff though, even people with more money than sense? Honestly I think theyre going to lose more money than if it had been BoL and cheaper, because then more people will buy it.
  10. Fluff and non-gameplay related social activities are what make a good community, which an MMORPG will die without. Though an MMORPG needs all sorts of things really because theres all sorts of people, so its not like they can forget about gameplay and content either - its just nice to see some "fluff" content when it was sorely needed.
  11. Yes. And in addition a lot of things like guild capitol ships were effectively scrapped and put on the "backburner".
  12. Looks fine. Only thing I would note is if youre building it now then there are holiday sales/combo deals going on at places like NCIX, so theres potential to save a few bucks.
  13. Holte and Tombes I use, which btw theyll be taken on Harbinger . Or something like "Deadfinger" or "Widderfingers", plays on names from books lol. I use those a lot. Too bad the naming restrictions are so lame, you could be like "Deadshot Dutch" or something.
  14. Havnt got my PT up enough to get Blizz, but I was able to level fine on my Jugg using tank companions. Maybe a little slower then it could be, but its a lot more fun to use different companions once in a while. Heck Ill even respec depending on what companion I feel like using(which has a side benefit of also changing up my playstyle), but I play for fun/story and dont give a two hoots as to if I could have leveled a character a few hours earlier. The only issue is keeping them all geared if you swap too often. You can turn off companion abilities.
  15. Because F2P took such a huge chunk of development, and its ongoing, capitol ships are on the "backburner". Along with a lot of other much needed community features. At this point Ill be surprised if the space project is anything more than just multiplayer on-rails mission.
  16. Seriously? Why would that even occur as something that would be a good idea? What the HELL is wrong with these guys? No wonder the game went down the drain. Oh and they did a 180 on capitol ships, even though more social interaction is exactly what the games missing. But dont worry! Theres a chance to get inventory sorting! Ugh.
  17. Hm, well, its a hamster wheel game. I know it gets advertised as a story focused MMO, but its not and hasnt been since release. You can roll alts but then youre repeating 90% of the "story" content you already did, and its all pretty terrible(even for a Bioware game). If youre tired of leveling alts, lightsabers are getting old, and you dont dig the carrot-ona-stick design... theres nothing left. Theres no RP, theres no social elements, theres no community. You can have stale gameplay as long as youve got something for people to have fun doing, or you can have great gameplay but lacking in the social element... but stale gameplay + no community is just broken. What TOR needs is more class story content in a proper expansion, and something to drive the community like minigames and events.
  18. So, anyone remember how large 1.5 was? P.S Data caps suck.
  19. I agree the language is coming off as too "limited", but my main concern is some of the restrictions themselves are too... restrictive. Things like Hide Head Slot, or titles, are just plain wrong IMO. People should be able to get the feel of the more social aspects of the game, especially since its already severely lacking social elements.
  20. Opinions are opinions... and in my opinion, yours is wrong . There is absolutely no reason to play on a PvP server if you dont want to do world PvP, and trash talking is probably one of the staples of PvP in any game. If you dont want to wold PvP or be called out for it when youre wimping out, then dont play on a PvP server. Of course, you have to keep in mind most people dont want to bother unless they have a good chance of winning. Thats why 99% of the PvP you see on a PvP server is one-sided ganking, and its why I never bother with PvP servers in any MMO anymore. At least not until someone comes up with a world PvP thats actually interesting(like Warhammer), or puts at least a minimal amount of effort into it(unlike SWTOR).
  21. This x100. Its not F2P or micros were worried about... the thing to worry over is that its EA in charge of it.
  22. Lots of people used to play MMOs mainly for the social aspects(which is still true), but these days there are so many other ways to be social online and other types of games encourage communities - like FPS clans or Facebook groups. Plus the majority of MMOs follow the same basic pattern and are essentially all the same game with different coats of paint, so its gotten pretty stale so I imagine people spend less time playing them. Thats my take on it anyway.
  23. Lord of the Rings Online, where you can buy healing/cure potions from the store that are better than anything you can obtain otherwise even if youre a subscriber. Or how the best relics(item mods) are also bought from the store too. Granted I think the advantages those items give you are negligible, but they ARE advantages and I wouldnt classify LotRO as a 3rd rate Asian mmo. People are putting way too much faith in EA here if you ask me, because thats whose calling the shots for this - not the remnants of Bioware.
  24. Or even worse, they only let people buy temporary access to things like Operations. Like say "500 coins buys 5 hours of Op time" kind of thing. I want to see some more specifics on how theyre going to do the F2P before I start overreacting, but this IS EA were talking about.
