I could understand it if we had auto-attacks in the game. In that case the "main hand" would be a "heavy hitter" with a slow rate of fire and the "off hand" would be a "light hitter" with a higher rate of fire. But we don't have auto-attacks in the game. I could understand it if we had "main hand" and "off hand" barrels that could only be equipped on "main hand" or "off hand" blaster pistols. They would give different stats bases on the "handedness" of the weapon. But we don't have barrels that distinguish between "main hand" and "off hand". "Main hand" and "off hand" blasters are functionally the same at the same level. There is no difference between them. As it stands, the only thing that having "main hand" and "off hand" only models does is prevent people from being able to have a matching pair of guns in case they like the model. To use your example, imagine someone using body type 1 wanted to have 2 N-106 Spec Ops Enforcer because the size fits the body type better, they would be out of luck. (NOTE: Same goes for lightsabers. ) /rant off Man! Felt good getting that off my chest. I really hope that at some point Bioware gets rid of the "main hand"/"off hand" limitation on Blaster Pistols. If other classes are looting an offhand-only item, then the Merc/Gunslinger pistol dropped off the same boss/available from the comm vendor/rewarded by the heroic mission needs to also be restricted to the off-hand so we and Mercs do not have a gear advantage over the other ACs. Yeah... but... their off-hand item is a "blue" non-moddable item with a "limited" shelf life so we already have a gear advantage... seriously, if they awarded "blue" off-hand weapons, or if you could buy them off the vendors I really wouldn't have a problem with that... but as it stands, having moddable off-hand pistols and light-sabers that use unique or rare models really only causes us dual-wielders to go without. If so, then you appear to be in luck! Check out this link for the Heavy Repeating Interceptor. According to the comments it comes from the daily "[Heroic 4] Hit 'Em Where They Live" on Balmorra. You might be out of luck as a Smuggler. The only blaster with an identical icon appears to be the M-403 Sentry Needler. However since it has no level requierment and Aim it appears to be a Bounty Hunter quest reward. Not only that, but even Bounty Hunters are out of luck if they want to dual-wield it as it is "off-hand" only. I feel your pain. I really do. I had the Hammer Precision Holdout drop for my BH in Hammer Station. I liked it so much that I ran Hammer Station 4 more times to get a second one. I would love to have the same model on my Smuggler, but, as far as I tell, the only moddable version of this pistol is this one and it only drops in Hammer Station for Imperial groups.
