Dungeon Finder Needed Badly.

dungeon finder is far from need. Work on you're social skill and you will make connection quickly if you're good. Never had much problem finding a group. Everytime i was teaming whit someone good, i was adding him to my friend list. Just send a tell to them and bam you have a group in 5 min. Realy not that hard. Who knew being social in a mmo could be that usefull... ;)

thats exacly my point , why would you deny someone it , just becouse you can find a group you should deny someone else who does have problems finding a group this way ..

seriously , you all who are against it .. are such tards and are selfsih in every way !

I typed up a long post, but i changed my mind. I don't care. I don't do pugs. I won't do pugs, i'd rather stop playing than do a pug. I'd have to play with *******, and i'm used to the perfectionism that is in my guild. It's not the kick you if you make a mistake type of perfectionism, it's the what could we do, to make x even better at the game type of perfectionists. If you don't have friends or a guild like that, then you don't really have friends or a guild.

If you get tossed in with people from 3 random servers because you play in a retarded timeframe, and you really enjoyed playing with them, good luck with making a group later, or adding them as friends.

What about a LFD too WITHIN your own server? I dont think anyone has mentioned a cross server LFD tool.

What stops you from adding friends if they are from your own server? Also if the tool is added YOU DONT HAVE TO USE IT, NOTHING IS FORCING YOU TO.

Don't worry i won't, and i'm gonna stop posting in this thread, because the devs might think that "we" really need an lfd, look at how many posts there are here...

Too late.

This is the second or third iteration of this specific thread already.

Fourth I believe, as well as countless threads from people asking for a LFD tool that were closed. That seems to be BW's modus operandi. Ignore what the majority of players want, and kowtow to a vocal minority that represents .5% of what their potential subscription base is. Well I should say was, since with their lack of movement and only half measures promised, they've probably alienated most that might have come to play SWTOR already.

Yep, when I login to the game I want to get in a group and start smashing things up, if it means I can queue up for a FP while doing dailies then that would be freakin awesome. I don't want to be shouting in general that I need a healer , a tank or dps over and over again.

This is about the fourth I believe, there have been countless other threads but they've all been shut down

I ran BT twice today on my alt. No one in the group spoke after we joined up. Everyone was just focused on watching the cinematics or spacebarring and getting a drink. There was no need to speak either since the instance is a cakewalk.

After the thing was over the other players just left without saying a word.

Man, that LFD tool would sure ruin things! Actually, most random PuGs I got in WoW would talk a lot more than that.

Yeah, the old crowd likes it that way for some sadist reason. Anyone with any time sensitivity issues or values how they spend their real life time doesn't like it.

These are the three main reasons for not adding a LFD from which I've seen:

1) Makes people lazy

- this is inncorrect, people are asking for prolonged periods of time for groups and not getting anywhere, that isn't lazy

2) Kills community

- I don't believe it has as huge a impact on community as people say it does. People can only demonstrate a correlation between the two but not causation. Any downside are negligible to the upsides brought by it

3) They want people to work really hard becaus they themselves work hard

- The people who share this logic are insane

Anything I miss?

This is the same experience I've tended to see as well. I've added everyone to my friends list but we're never online at the same time, in the same level range, or interested in doing the same dungeon at that particular moment

I never had any problem finding a group.

I'm 100% PU, no guild.

Since game launch, that LFG tool had no chance to be a priority for us, and for the dev team.

Today that's clear that this envy (not a need because a need concerns only something vital), to have a LFG Tool has sunk deep down on the priority list.

Claiming for such a tool, today, is silly.

Look downstairs, the house is burning.

Believe me when I say I feel your FRUSTRATION and ANGER. But I don't believe Bioware is closing other threads about LFG to shut down the COMMUNITY. I believe it's because they just want to keep the boards organized. :p This way they have one nice LONG thread about the NEED for LFD and where we can VENT as much and for as long as needed. So PLEASE keep posting here everyday you don't get a Flashpoint group or some similar problem. We need to keep the PRESSURE up! ;):D (Sorry for all the smilies, have to keep myself sane somehow) :o

Hate the idea of a LFD and can see it really hurting the social side of the game, how many people remember the 15 min wait for a boat in EQ, we hated it but the parties/fishing and friendships made on those docks would never have happened otherwise.

People who sign up on a LFD tool do now want to socialise most of the time, think of it this way if you want a LFD tool it is so that you do not waste time, you want to be in a dungeon doing, not talking or sitting about..

I have already met some wonderful people in swtor and some I met via them trying to form a group on general chat it usually goes something like this

"Need healer and dps for XXXXX we have cookies!"

"already in the group cake is a lie but cookies we have!"

"I want cake"

"I joined and got no cake or a threesome.."

so on and so forth, you chat, talk it may take 20 mins to form a group (mostly alot quicker) but you get together, dance, have a little fun and then go on the dungeon crawl, what you get out of it, new friends and fun can far outlast the gear or xp.

That is why I never want to see a LFD in SWTOR and yes I know my opinion will clash with others.

This is really, at the heart of it, false.

If an LFD-style system is set up, people will use it. Those people will then be removed from the pool of people who run things under the current system, making it even more difficult to put a group together that way.

If such a system is implemented, that will be how you get PUGs. You won't be able to do it the old way any more, at least not without a lot more effort, which is why I think the way it gets implemented is critical, and I really hope it doesn't work like the ones in WoW and Rift.

Having a system is not, in itself, really a good or bad thing, but the system wouldn't as optional as you're making it out to be. I would effect everyone.

Why can't you do this with a working cross server LFD? There is nothing that is inherent with the LFD that disables the /1 /fleet message button is there? If you are trying to tell me waiting around bored to death is a positive method of making friends you do not wish to lose in order to justify the frustrations many of us are experiencing then well, I don't know what to tell you.

Seriously, ask BW to give you on demand NPCs that will help you clear content.

This is the cutest/sweetest/most-innocent post for an anti-LFD I've seen yet. And I almost don't want a LFD just to keep you in your little bubble of fun and joy.

Except for the fact that if YOU get to keep your type of gameplay (which WON'T go away, will just become harder), I will NEVER get to run a Flashpoint....ever. For all the reasons people pro-LFD have said and more (unless I run them solo when I out level them). So basically, you want me to never group with people, never see Flashpoints and never have a chance at Operations in order to keep those "old-school" interactions that don't actually exist anymore in any real way.

Thanks! (and the *********** EQ boats sucked).

i see ninjalooters, trolls and players behaving bad/rude ect, already want lfd finders since no one on their server wants them in their groups/ops anymore.

well thats your fault, should have behaved yourself better.

pro tip roll on a new server and be nice.

How is not optional? In WoW lots of groups pugged in /trade chat instead of using the LFD tool. The reason why it wasn't as common as it was before is because almost nobody wants to use the old type of a system. F

The game has given you guilds, friends list, /planet chat and /fleet + /who. You still have all those tools at your disposable. Those options have failed for some of us and we are trying to find workable solutions to help keep the game going.

This is the exact type of ignorant crap that ruins the game and community. I don't understand how people can arrive at their self worth through a video game, it's just mind blowing. I've had very man pleasant groups in WoW with the LFD finder, in fact 95% have been great experiences. If you don't believe me, you'd be hard pressed to find a real reason why people keep running them over and over again if they are such miserable experiences.

You're not trying to find "workable solutions". You think that the ONLY solution is a sloth friendly, ADHD compliant cross server NPC finder.

Troll post is trolling. And, ummm, Companions? NPC's that help EVERYONE clear content.

How am I trolling? Cross sever LFD is the equivalent of getting NPCs to assist you in your FPs. NPCs would be even faster though and thus more amazingly awesome for those unable or unwilling to even pretend that there could be other options.
