  1. Awesome changes! Love level sync! It will make me want to do old content, especially the Heroic areas. And thank you for the Companion changes. This is the way the system should have been from launch. So I can finally choose what companion I want to take with me instead of having to almost always use Treek just so I can have a healer (yay no more annoying Ewok companion chatter!). Screw the haters. Level sync is awesome. I love it in Guild Wars 2. It makes the game actually feel like a game instead of like I'm cheating whenever I play old areas. The haters just loved "cheating" by using higher level toons (I know I'm gonna get hate for that but please don't reverse that change due to people who don't understand how cool/good level syncing will be for this game).
  2. Great changes but for gods sake can I just buy the item I want to buy directly like, I don't know, EVERY STORE in the world! Enough with the packs! I don't care if you charge quadruple the price it would be in order for me to buy the item I want directly but it would be worth it to save up for that item.
  3. I posted this exact same thing in the Customer Service forums on Tuesday and have yet to receive a response, either. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=7474839#post7474839 Devs what is up with this?!?
  4. Love the scout. First to the stations is usually first to win. At the beginning of each fight I press F3 to get maximum engines, spacebar to boost to the station, then circle around the innermost area of the stations, protected by those flaps that show who owns the station. With the scout's speed, most craft can't hit me. I just circle around forever, either winning the station as my teammates take out the enemy or slow the enemy down from taking over the station, and hopefully annoy them in the process. Also I suck at dogfighting so this is pretty much all I CAN do, fly fast, hope I don't get hit, and fly circles around the enemy.
  5. As I said in my post, I don't mind waiting a half hour as long as I know that server has my characters that I've put so much time into and I can get a decent Warzone/Flashpoint queue (and I'll just play Diablo while I wait). By trying to force us to go to some random server, they are just going to eventually run into the same problem.
  6. So now will you give us cross-server LFG? Because there is no *********** way that enough people are going to transfer to a destination server to keep queue times low. Or are your EA masters just wanting you to make people pay to transfer where they actually want to go. Way to over-promise again.
  7. As I've said on many other LFG forum posts. WE NEED A CROSS SERVER LFG!!! PVP is already starting to have long queue times on my server which used to have insta-queues. You've announced cross-server Warzones, so please don't make the same mistake with Flashpoint/Operations. If you make it same-server the queue times for getting a group for any Flashpoint, let alone wanting to run a specific one, will be hours and hours. And in answer to the poll, I said all of the above but in priority: 1. Flashpoints, 2. Operations, 3. Heroic quests.
  8. Wow your mean-spirited post just reminded me that I backed up a copy of the game from like two weeks ago. Thanks! I'll just backup this 1.2 version, copy back the older version and patch up to 1.1.5 and be able to play today. You rock, troll poster!
  9. Correct. Cancel the full re-download and just wait until tomorrow.
  10. Just answered my own question. I CANNOT do PTS either. I opened the launcher and since I"m patched to 1.2, it's trying to redownload everything. So I cancelled the download and closed the launcher. No regular game and no PTS for me today. :evernmoresadface
  11. Oh yeah, forgot I have the PTS downloaded, at least I can play that. But I shouldn't load the launcher? So I can't play that either? Help Bioware!
  12. Thank you for the update. I will wait until tomorrow to play. :sadface
  13. Thank you for the people who responded positively to the people who were negative to me. Also, seriously, people want me to shut up? I've paid my money and got every right to post here as long as I don't violate the terms of agreement, which many of you are coming close to violating by insulting me. The reason I didn't stop the download when it originally started patching was because whenever I patch anything else, like an update from Microsoft, if I ever cancelled it midway I was probably ****ed. Sometimes even having to reinstall whole programs or operating systems. So in order to avoid having to reinstall all of SWTOR, I let the patch do its thing and fully download and fully install. Also I DO have a bandwidth cap and don't want to have to go over it by doing a full SWTOR reinstall. So now I am waiting on word as to what to do, and thus posting on these boards. Yes, I may have ranted originally about a free day, but that was in frustration and I apologize if I offended.
  14. Sorry I'm poor and can only afford one game. Was looking forward to doing some last minute shopping today before they get rid of some stuff in 1.2. So now thanks! I'm asking for free speeders, free lightsaber crystals and a free day because I accidentally downloaded the patch a day early. (And yes I know they won't give me any of these I just like having pseudo free speech on these forums and "suggest" to them that if they want happy customers, when they **** up, they compensate us for what we pay for.)
  15. I'm in the same water, just waiting on word to re-open my launcher or do I just not play until tomorrow.
  16. lol. No Mr. Sarcasm but by the time I checked this thread the patch was already installing so I was ****ed either way. And I'm just asking for a free day that they apparently/probably just ****ed me out of.
  17. Too late now, the patch is installing and if I have to re-install the whole game or can't play for today I hope I get a free day reimbursed onto my account.
  18. Just copying my first post from the PTS Forum because 1.2 is coming Thursday and the PTS Forum will go read only. Here are some highlights of feedback (though not complete). Feel free to add more. (And Community Dev peeps please let me know if I should add this to another thread already started, thanks!) So far, loving the options in the new UI customizations. Here are just a few quick thoughts: 1. Add ability to mouse over a UI box in order to bring it to full alpha (or whatever full visibility is). Just like the chatbox currently has when you mouse over it. 2. Ability to move/change the red warnings box and yellow info boxes in the direct center of the screen. I couldn't find a UI box thing in order to move those elements. 3. Change the Crew Skills screen to be like the new Abilities screen. This way mission levels could be listed on left side, so I no longer have to select drop down, select level to get to where I want. Also, could the specific mission level range selection remain when selecting different companions. I hate having to always re-select a lower level mission as it defaults to the highest level missions the player has leveled to when I click a new companion. 4. Ability to remove/re-size names on nameplates. Basically I only want to see the health bar above my player and companion and targets. Perhaps on a case by case basis, so I can see Friendly NPC names but not any others (perhaps have a dropdown menu for each type). Could you also add the ability to show force/energy below the health bar on Nameplates. Thanks! Edit to add: Gonna add in all of the suggested improvements here. I'll organize it better as this goes. UI Text: There are also several areas where the text size cannot be changed, such as the Crew Skills UI. Crew Skills UI: would it be possible to shrink/minimize/remove the flavor text, so we can see at a glance the full list of what the missions will result in without having to scroll down every single time. Mission Tracker: Ability to have the missions sorted higher/lower by proximity to the mission objective. So as I get closer to say the boss I need to kill, the mission moves higher up on the list above further away missions. Missing: Companion Castbar. Not sure if bug or just missing/not put with the companion's Portrait. Companion Targeting: Ability to show/hide/change the Companions targeting parameters. For example, Target Closest/Target Most Health/Target Same as Player/etc. Mostly for me I just want him/her to target the same enemy as me. Waypoint Speeder UI: When you select an unlearned speeder location by selecting the speeder robot, could the speeder map UI not appear when you first learn that location. I have almost never used the speeder when first learning it's location so I always have to either back away or press ESC to get rid of the screen. The next two I haven't tried yet in 1.2 because I don't yet have a speeder but they annoyed me before: Quick Travel: When learning a new Quick Travel location while riding a speeder, could the player not be dismounted while learning the new Quick Travel location. Buff: While riding a speeder, could reapplying your buff not dismount the player from their speeder. For example, applying Force Valor on my Consular while riding my speeder dismounts me, but I like to keep that buff constantly up. Tooltip UI: Whenever I mouse over an object or NPC/creature that relates to a quest I have, could info be added to the tooltip that shows the name of the quest that is related to that object/NPC and also show how many I have to collect/kill (i.e. Rhakgouls killed 12/20).
  19. It would be fun to be able to play with whomever you like by importing from another character. I like that idea. Edit to add: They could be like the "Guest" spot that appears when questing sometimes. So each toon gets 1 "Special/Imported Guest" Spot in their Companion list that doesn't get any of the normal Companion benefits, just being able to use them during fights. And they would appear in cut-scenes but with no dialogue. All this of course unlocked from Legacy somehow.
  20. That's why I think my second suggestion of just unlocking different roles for each character might be a better solution. But either way, I was just throwing this out there so the devs know at least one player is thinking/annoyed about it. I tend to like 1 companion and don't want to have to always think of my advanced class so I can always play with that companion, but hate the advanced class.
  21. Add a talent that changes the AOE abilities to use the currently selected target as the starting point to begin the ability (but not follow the target, just start that ability at the current point they are standing). Also perhaps reduce the damage by like 5% to to balance it against the normal version of the ability, which is inherently harder to use but if used correctly can do more damage to more people. The reason I ask for this is because I never use these abilities because not only do I suck at moving the mouse in the world to get at who I want to target, but by the time I select the ability, and move my mouse to target, then click to launch the ability, the target has already moved on and I almost always miss. Plus, with the ability doing less damage, the people who can use the ability in its current state still feel bad-*** that they are better than me.
  22. I understand that we get Companions based on story and where they appear in that storyline. The problem is, say I choose a healing Advance Class at level 10 but my companion is also a healer or dps and I would prefer a tank Companion. Unfortunately, I won't get that tank companion for many, many levels, thus my gameplay suffers as a result. As part of the Legacy System, perhaps I could unlock that tank Companion early. This way, I could play the game using the Companion type that I want/need for gameplay purposes. I understand dialogue cut-scenes wouldn't work with that companion but if I've already unlocked my Legacy, I think I would understand that "awkwardness". Or as a similar option, perhaps the role of my companions could be unlocked and made swap-able. This way my first companion could then take on whatever role I desire.
  23. When 1.2 comes out, it will have the option of showing in the chat box what ability killed the player and how much damage it did. To me, that is not always useful information, because whatever ability did the killing blow, didn't necessarily lead to my death, especially in PVP. Perhaps there could be an "Ability that did over x% of damage (based on my total health)" and have it show up on the chat screen. This way I can see what specific ability is kicking my butt and help me avoid that class or attempt to mitigate that damage somehow. (And I put this suggestion here instead of the PTR forums because I'm assuming those forums are going away once 1.2 releases and I'd like to keep this suggestion around). Thanks! Edit to add: I know this information will be in my combat log, but since I'm not interested in the whole fight and because I probably won't remember when that big damage happened, having it immediately put into the chat log will allow me to see and connect the two events.
  24. And another Ohlen quote: "The number of level 50s is a lot higher than we thought it was going to be. Therefore, our group finder has become a much higher priority. It's essentially our highest-priority feature that is not going in 1.2. If there is one feature that 1.3 will have, it will be the group finder. "A lot of our feedback from the level 50s revolves around the dungeon finder. We have two operations, four level 50 flashpoints, and the hardmodes for all of them. We have a ton of PvE high-level content, but our metrics show that a lot of it hasn't been consumed by level 50s. Dungeon finder is the key there. That's one of the reasons that PvP is so popular because PvP is so much easier to get into than PvE. Once I started getting that data I was like, 'Oh, OK.' I knew that group finder was important. When leveling up, like we found during beta, you don't really need the group finder, but when you reach the max level, it becomes very important." http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/13/epic-in-scope-swtors-james-ohlen-explains-plans-for-the-future/
  25. Some more LFG info from an interview with James Ohlen: "Ten Ton Hammer: So possibly before 1.3? James Ohlen: At the earliest, it would be 1.3. We’re aiming for a shorter turnaround time for 1.3 than the time between 1.1 and 1.2. Ten Ton Hammer: So what do you prioritize after you get 1.2 out the door? James Ohlen: Well, that was part of the guild summit. One of the things that we found that was really important was the dungeon finder or group finder. That was a gain of learning in that when the game launched, I was like, “Alright, we’re going to have a whole bunch of fans playing the game and it’ll probably take them 3-4 months until level 50 becomes the place where a majority of where the people are as that we have over 200 hours of leveling time.” But then the average gameplay session turned out to be 6 hours, which is ridiculous. We hired an independent group to do a measurement and they said that it was higher than any other game that EA has ever done. It’s higher than Skyrim by double, it’s higher than any other MMO that we’ve ever measured. Fans play the game and they played for 6 hours. People just raced through the content and suddenly we had tons of people at the end-game. At which point, the dungeon finder became much more important because when you’re at the end-game, you want to do the group content and group content requires you to find a group. So we pushed that up in priority really quick based upon the telemetry showing us how many fans were getting to level 50. That was a surprise to us. It was both a good and bad surprise. Good in that people are obviously having tons of fun with the game. Bad in that they’re getting to level 50 much faster than our expectations were. I think that’s ok though because what we’re finding is that people at level 50 have a really good opinion of the game, even people who quit. When they quit at level 50, a huge percentage…and I’ve talked with they Mythic guys who have telemetry going back over a decade…and they’ve never seen numbers like those in our exit surveys. One of our questions is would you come back to the game, and the percentage is huge. It means that even though people are racing through the game and get to the end and they have a chance to leave, they want to come back. Which is good because it means that when we give them reasons to come back, they will. That’s kind of our strategy. We want to make sure that fans love the game. They don’t have to go through a grind, they don’t feel like they have to work to make it fun. So even if they do lapse, they have a good taste in their mouth. They do want to return to the game at some point." http://swtorhub.com/dash-everything-swtor-12-interview-james-ohlen
