BugsIRE
Agree fully. Sitting here waiting for the US timezones just makes having an EU server list completely pointless. The whole idea of region based servers is so timezones no longer matter. Continue with the staggered launch, but allow the EU members who will get in today after 8am CST to play starting from 8am GMT or CET so it's actually fair. Dark-Master
Agree with the OP but unfortunately when it comes between the EU and US timezones for launch its always going to swing in the US's favor. It is a US game.
Gardred
Handling the launch and handling the maintenance are two different things. As I see it, BW tries to have their most experienced and best people available for launch and they can't be up 24/7 or there would be a lot of mistakes. Therefore waves come in USA and Europe at the same time, so that those best people can handle any problems. If BE EU would start to give out waves in our timezone and something problematic would happen, they would need to contact main office in Austin and try to get those specialists up from their sleep. This would then most likely mean closed servers, delays and everybody stressed and unhappy. ...QUOTE] What you are saying here is that Bioware do not have faith in their staff? If you can not do what you are getting paid to do, then they should get fired No, what I am saying is that there are only certain amount of qualified people that can tackle problems with launch and if they let everybody in (estimates between 2 to 3 million players), those people could't handle all the problems. So instead they are keeping amount of people and servers inside the amount they can guarantee to very good service.

KakitaHoshi
When I said that the EU should be thankful I was only trying to point out the fact that a lot of other markets in the world are getting terrible treatment (this is from someone living in Korea that has had to go through a lot of trouble to get the game, so my viewpoint is a little skewed ) Yes: But part of the issue is: There are no Korean Servers, and no Korean Bioware I know off. Yet there are European Servers, and a Bioware Europe. My Question remains: Why aren't they handling things, and will this ( Service on US times ) also be what we can expect it the future. Neglience
+1 my friend is online now with 80 other players on the whole server (eu), so letting in new players now would definitely not crash the servers. oh but wait, the us guys are still sleeping so no new players for eu in the next 4 hours. Skiiba
Just my 2cent on Server's-EU I Think BW have a damn Great job untill now.!! They are doing a smooth EGA Hint last night when i chech server list ( EU-servers) they where all FULL Soo dont say EU dont get waves of inv ;-) Ps. I dit not get in yet, but hey its only a Game ;-) NO server in the EU was full last night, the web page was updating wrong, most servers IN GAME were LIGHT or MEDIUM at best. On The Progenitor, I logged off at midnight and there were 40 people on hutta and 14 on imperial fleet, thats pretty low.

They WILL have to deal with it. When it happens is really of no consequence, it will happen. they cant turn around and say "Oh no sorry everyone else who paid for their game is no longer getting any access because this is the most we will allow inside at once" And there is the fact that EU people are just as smart as US ones. If there is a problem, you are basically saying that the EU people are too dumb to deal with it themselves. This isn't true. If they are that dumb they shouldn't be working on the game. dynamostia
The OP raises a good point that occurred to me as well. I was up at 5.30am and the European servers were at 'Light' load. Its now 10am and its the same situation. I hope they have learnt whatever they need to from the first day and get invites rolling now. Buggering off home early seems a bit off but perhaps they are giving everyone a rest before the official launch.
Gwibo
Have a guy on ventrilo who works for Bioware something to do with servers Apparently there is just a script that is pulling people from a database that was going very slowly. Also he was having issues with his account and had to phone the accounts people who are So by that logic they have a team based in Ireland running a script during US hours >_< From Bioware website - The BioWare Ireland studio is a Customer Center of Excellence and Network Operations Center in the west Ireland city of Galway..... spajdr
Why would Bioware sent more EA invites, if they not added new servers? People that can play since yesterday would be unable to play at their servers because it would be already FULL due to new players from today invites. So its better to start new invites later, servers will be filled with same people from yesterday and then bioware will probably add new servers, so at end everyone will play. Its not good option though for people who are in big guilds and are from all parts of the world. Edited December 14, 2011 by spajdr

Grodr
OP has a valid point I personally believe that bioware has this sorted or planned out at least, especially since the server locations are in fact in europe, it has to have a technical team behind it, aswell as a community team living in the same timezone for support. The fact that the EU servers were down is strange and a loss of potential..especially if many early access players are from EU that have to play on US servers till they are on online seems a bit badly planned. I reserve any further criticism, especially since it is still only early access and not official launch, taking into consideration the "5€" everyone is nagging about, I wont sweat it. The lack of an European Community Manager's response, or any response at all, has me worried, i must admit. I so love this game. I tested 2 weekends, contributed AND had a blast. The game is awsome. Service however, is so far seriously lacking, and this doesn't bode well for the future. Common Bioware, get your game on!
