I would have to say that an Assassin tank in DPS gear, or a Vengeance Juggernaut in tank stance would be good fits for you. You would have a lot of damage resistance, but still be able to do effective DPS while guarding.

I've been making a lot of money grabbing lockboxes and crystals on Yavin in front of the temple in between warzones. I'm on a PvP server, so sometimes I just stop queueing altogether and fight the people I come across.

Back then the slow was a big part of the problem. I think if either the slow or the duration are returned it'd be just fine.
Also, technically it WAS the optimized rotation. Lol

Similar thing happened to me also.
Customer support had me try to make two new accts using link and nothing happened. I was advised to create an ingame ticket if it wasn't fixed in 24hrs... and this thpe of stuff is exactly why I didn't: they don't care that it is inconvenient and they don't care to fix it.

My Sorc was the first character I made. His name has been changed, but it was originally my last name and now it's my first name (so not a big change, esp. with legacy surname). I play them with my GF, so I play my Sage as my solo main (originally had first name, but changed).
Both characters get played a lot, with the Sage getting a slight edge on play time.

With our auto crit not receiving the appropriate boost, is there still a reason to use these specs? With underwhelming burst, is this spec suboptimal for Sorcs and Sages?

I would say the serpent is just a metaphor, and serpents have been used in myth and legends in the real world as a symbol for eternity and rebirth, all things the story of KotFE also deals with. So, no I don't expect to fight an literal serpent.
That is very possible, but I have a sneaking suspicion Valkorian cares not for metaphors.

Just thinking: what if the emperor doesn't have a "body" b/c hes a serpent imprisoned underneath Zakuul or something, and he is so interested in us b/c he wants us to set him free! The snake god will return!

All of these points are great, except that first guy's.
Could be nonsense spoken by a worthless cult, but the Force tells me otherwise. I don't think it would keep being mentioned if it had no point.
Also, its on Arkann and Thraxan's robes and appears to be a family symbol (I will have to check if it's on V as well). I don't think the family sigil of the Immortal Emperor would have a serpent on it for no reason with all of these other serpentine references flying around.
Can we be so sure Valkorian is Valkorian? He even presents us with this question. Perhaps hes a force sensitive snake underneath Zakuul that was worshipped long ago. He will return one day, and I think that's why he's bugging us now - to fulfill his own prophecy.
I'm not saying he's a shapeshifting illuminati lizard, just one with mind control.
Seriously though, this is gonna be whats up. Mark my words.
Edit: Poster above me, could it be possible that Zildrog defeated the old gods? Valkorian even mentions a passing fondness for them iirc.

The recent companion changes made me curious, would this.be a good thing? I can say I'd be one of the happiest to heal on my Mara.

Was right outside the entrance to the quest where you discover the starship ruins or w/e. I saw someone of opposing faction fighting them, and when they died I fought her too, so it was definitely not a player character's companion.
It had several abilities that would full heal her, one I remember is "Shock and Awe."
It also had a buff that reduced all incoming damage by 50%. Was also immune to whirlwind, but not other stuns. Just whirlwind.
I'm sure if I had another with me it would have died, as it came very close several times and only 1 more interrupt would have solved the problem.
I feel like the victim of a crime that no one believes.

She has a ponytail and dresses similar to Arkann. I think her name was Senya or something close.

I main a TK Sage and solo'd the Nar Shadaa Heroic Fortress with HK-51 at 14 influence. He was set to heals up until the Exarch, then switched him to DPS and dropped him really fast.
Edit: My gear is a set of fully augmented PvP gear.
