  1. This is, since Game Update 4.3, no loger true.

If you complete any mission, boarding your ship, crafting, etc. you don't get the Token back.

And the gear is bound since then.

I didn't know they had changed it that much, so thanks for that. I had heard about the gear back in the day and as that was all I needed the token for, everything else must have been forgotten.

  2. And if you're both changing servers and changing names, there's only two steps.

    1. Create a character with the name you don't want on the target server.

    2. Move the character in question to that server. And as that name now is unavailable, you have to chance names.

I did that for several of my characters back in the day of the first or second server merger. It works like a dream. All you need to do is delete the place holder character and create it again with the new name you don't want to keep.

  3. There is a new system called Galactic Command, read more at http://www.swtor.com/info/news/blog/20161017. You will earn Galactic Command XP by doing content. The more difficult content you do and the more people needed to do content, the more XP you will get.

When you level up, which you will do every few hours or so if not every hour, you will get a crate with some random stuff. The higher your Galactic Command level is, the better the stuff will be. Some of that stuff will be gear. Thus you can get the best gear in the game doing whatever content you like.

  4. I did use my Start at 60 token. Several times. You get it back if you delete the character before it hits level 61. And you get some Legacy bound gear too that you can give to other toons. They said they were going to change that gear to bound on pickup, but I haven't done this lately so I don't know if that still is a possible way to get gear.

I never actually played a Start at 60 character though.

  5. OK, then you can't bypass it. Quesh is the only planet where, to do your class story, you *must* begin the planetary arc.

"Begin" being the operative word. Once you're down on the surface, you can abandon the quest.

  6. Because some of us also search by name, level, quality and other criteria.

You do not speak for everybody.

I've never sorted on anything other than price. I hadn't even thought about sorting on anything other than price until I saw your post. If I know what I want, I look for that and sort for price. If I don't know what I want, I just browse.

Now that I know I can sort by name, browsing will be a little easier, because I don't have to wonder if I've already looked at that item or not.

  7. This is probably the case. On the other hand, the devs have never outright stated this. And the achievements above the second tier are worded very, very vaguely. The first two tiers state you need to do it during the event. All the achievements after that say you need to do it with a character created during the event, not necessarily during the event itself. My guess is that the DvL flags will get removed from characters once the expansion launches so it is a moot point. On the other hand, it has never been stated that when the event ends, we can't get the achievements any more with DvL characters.

They have never done that before. Always before you've only been able to work on the achievements while the event is active

  8. To get back into the game, I would suggest starting a new toon.

As to finding a guild, check or post in the server specific forum. From what I have heard, Red Reaper is the most populous English language European server

  9. The even ENDS. As with other events, you cannot gain additional event achievements after the event has ended.

If they hadn't specified that this would be possible only with characters created during the event, any previous characters would be able to do it too. Which clearly hasn't been their intent.

  10. I prefer using E, S, D, F for movement. It's the same keys as WASD, but shifted one key to the right.. I do this for two reasons.

    1. Placement. Many keyboards have an indentation for the F-key. Thus the key will tell you that you are in the right place. And if you spend any time typing on your keyboard, this is where you will rest your fingers when you do.

    2. Reach. You can reach more keys by having your fingers in this position than you would with WASD.

  11. Hard Mode is the next difficulty after tactical and it's quite the difference as you've noticed. I would suggest two additional players, instead of companions, and, if needed, better gear.

You may also want to google the tactics. Though most players, in my experience, are friendly enough to help you figure it out if you let them know at the start that you're there for the first time.
