  1. For me it did yeah. Also CS just answered my ticket like 5 minutes ago and suggested the same - dropping quests for all other active Flashpoints to see if that helps.
  2. So I fixed my issue and feel like a massive idiot? I'd been running Flashpoints for Conquest, gear, leveling etc. One random queue put me in Depths of Manaan but the group struggled too much to complete it so in the end we left and rather than me abandoning the mission [Veteran] Depths of Manaan, I untracked it. And I guess having the Veteran mode quest in my log prevented me from doing the Story version because now that I have abandoned the Veteran one, everything is fine. With all my own trouble-shooting, I'd never considered this, or woulda thought it would cause problems but I guess that's what did the trick. OP, I dunno if you have a Veteran version for Depths of Manaan in your logs but you should check. I kinda hope you do because otherwise there's still no solution for you. I'm gonna both laugh and cry in a corner now at my own stupidity and then continue the Preludes.
  3. Just decided to risk the last option (Abandoning the Prelude altogether and picking it back up at my ship) and the same problem persists, so even that didn't work. Will comb through the thread futher, see if other solutions are offered but so far no joy.
  4. That's kind of you, thanks. Unfortunately, this particular character is on Satele Shan.
  5. I was able to reset the quest "Forged Alliances: Part II" earlier (couldn't yesterday), so I did in the hopes it would fix the issue but no luck. It still automatically puts me in Veteran by myself.
  6. Seems this issue also occurred, or has been present, since May for certain players. This guy had the same issue, never said whether abandoning worked for him. I'm afraid of abandoning the purple Forged Alliances mission because I have no idea if I could or how to get it back. =\
  7. That's even stranger because the OP who started this thread is also 75 and did have issues. =\
  8. So I went to check on two other characters who are eligible to do Depths of Manaan (level 55+) but who have not started the Prelude -- both have DoM listed in their SOLO activities and can talk to the Flashpoint dude outside the entrance to select Solo/Vet/Master for options. However, on my 65 Smuggler who's actively doing Forged Alliances, DoM does not show up in her SOLO activities window, she can't talk to the Flashpoint dude at the entrance, and when entering the instance she's automatically given a regular Flashpoint quest without support droid as opposed to the Solo quest it's supposed to prompt with droid. So I'm thinking Solo/Story for Depths of Manaan while doing it as part of the Forged Alliances / Shadows of Revan Prelude is broken, at least for my 65 Smuggler. And yes, I have my Mission Difficulty Pref set to Story. Additionally, after checking another character who is at the same part of the SoR Prelude (level 57 Jedi) -- Depths of Manaan is available in her Solo activities when her "Forged Alliances: Part II" quest states 'Talk to Theron', prior to being granted the "Complete FP: DoM" mission but as soon as she got done talking to Theron and the quest updated to go do the Flashpoint, DoM disappeared from her Solo activities. However, despite that, when she enters the FP it does automatically prompt Story mode and gives her the droid. Not sure if the bug is limited to my 65 Smuggler, or if it's an issue with levels like doing the actual SoR Preludes & Story post level 60/64 it bugs out. UPDATED RECAP: - Boosted Level 75 Jedi not actively running the Forged Alliances Part II mission can access Depths of Manaan STORY - Level 56 Jedi not actively running the Forged Alliances Part II mission can access Depths of Manaan STORY - Level 57 Jedi actively running Forged Alliances Part II can access Depths of Manaan STORY - Level 65 Smuggler actively running Forged Alliances Part II can not do Depths of Manaan STORY Previous associated Flashpoints Korriban Incursion & Assault on Tython were completed in STORY mode without issue. Really does look like an issue with Depths of Manaan specifically when done on a Level 60/65 character or higher during the Forged Alliances Part II missions.
  9. I'm level 65, doing Manaan as part of the Forged Alliances prelude and I wasn't given a combat support droid either.
  10. So... odd thing but *knocks on wood* ever since the servers crashed on Wednesday and came back up, my weird lag issues have stopped. Haven't had any of the problems in over 24 hrs.
  11. I would if I could remember how to do any of that but my brain is currently fluff.
  12. Fingers crossed. Right now it's fine for me too, but this morning it wasn't, and I've had it in the past week where one moment it's completely normal, then a few hours later it goes bonkers again so we'll see.
  13. This has been my issue for about a week. I normally have 99/130 ms (from the Netherlands) on Star Forge and Satele Shan but for the past week, it's been spiking 550/600 ms at random hours and dc'ing me on occasion. Can't figure out where the problem lies but it's annoying.
  14. I can't really picture Quinn doing much in the way of physical sports. Chess, however... that'd be more his jam, imo.
  15. None of that is toxic, and I've been giving out the same advice in a polite, calm manner. Now, if the advice came as "Hey you damn noob stop attacking the CC'd mob *** L2P or ****" then, yeah, toxic, but if it's just regular advice given there's nothing wrong with it. But we also live in a world where everyone is constantly playing the "offense taken" game so even advice offered in a polite fashion is rude and unsolicited and how dare you say anything rather than just letting the player do as they please. My own experiences have been good thus far with new players asking for- and/or accepting advice from more experienced players easily. Stuff like "I'm new to this game/FP" is met with helpful advice and game-play tips with a "oh thank you I didn't know".
  16. I honestly thought Jatta was being sarcastic...
  17. Ideally, yes. I'm by no means saying that the way it is now is a good thing, at all. One of the biggest frustration for years has been (bugs aside), the lack of communication. The fact that at times it takes multiple threads, PMs, and Twitter 'nudging' to get a response about issues. That shouldn't be the way. I just can't see it changing either because we have begged them for so long to be more communicative and it never goes anywhere. People have asked for a sort of flagging system for the Bug Reports section so we can at least see whether a bug report has been acknowledged and passed on at all or if we're just screaming into the void. It just feels like a useless endeavor at this point to ask and hope for better.
  18. I'd be fine with old sub rewards returning, or Bioware implementing a point-earning type of system where after a certain amount of months being subbed you can claim a reward, both old and new. But you'll also run into folks who treat these old rewards like a badge of honor and the mere idea of new or returning players being able to obtain that reward now sullies the value and 'original effort made' in their eyes.
  19. You must be new here because there is a long history of the majority of on-going issues and bugs not being addressed directly here on the forum by Eric and his team. Yes, they will usually respond if it's a big and urgent matter (like that time Darth Malgus kept dying during prime Euro hours) but otherwise, not so much. Also, Eric is not the only one on the Community team, Daniel Somethingname is too, and I'm sure there are more working behind the scenes. And I do believe Eric's job is far more than just lurking on the forums and answering every thread or bug report with concerns. It's unfortunate, I agree and players could do with answers. It's actually a little better nowadays than it was 2-3 years ago but there is little point in keeping track of his forum activity.
  20. I absolutely sympathize with players on an old system, my own isn't top of the line either. However, I don't believe that's a valid reason not to upgrade the quality of the game. Can you imagine game designers discussing "Well we should lower the quality of our game so those with a 10-year-old PC can enjoy it as well"? I get it, it sucks, and I used to be in a position where I'd have to scrape bits and pieces from 2nd/3rd-hand or trashed PCs together to build my own and at least have something but no developers team should bear that in mind when deciding on the engine and quality for their game. That's just bad business really. Now I don't think SWTOR is in a dire state and while opinions on this forum vary, I've also heard in the past week with new and returning players that they're impressed with the graphics and the way it looks despite how old it is. That they enjoy the ease of access. So that's a plus and for myself, I'm fine with things as they are but I'll never discourage an update either. At least not from the point of "but my PC can't handle it!". I just don't believe that's a good enough reason not to.
  21. What I got from the post is him urging other players not to discourage EA from updating the system purely because their (players) older/crummier PCs might not be able to handle such an update, and that trying to discourage EA from updating the systems is unfair to players who's PCs can handle such an update, or who want it. Him bringing up his own PC specs is just to say "Hey, my PC isn't new, powerful and shiny either but I still advocate an update of the game graphics/engine", and ending with a "Don't complain and just turn your settings down if your PC can't handle it". That's the gist I got. I was a bit confused initially too as I thought, going off the title, it was directed at EA, but it's just a bit of player policing.
  22. Dyes in collections could still earn them money. The first time to buy the dye, then again to unlock it, and they could set up a system that requires a small fee in CC in order to apply or change out dyes. Like when you change your hair color on the appearance change kiosk thingy. And while that may end up actually costing more than buying the dye once (depending on how often one would change their color theme), it's still a system I'd prefer.
  23. I'll sign this too. I'm always happy to spend CC but for one-time use dyes? Some are ridiculously priced and I'd rather buy it once then pay another 250/400CC to unlock it permanently.
  24. I feel like maybe I'm not playing the same game as most of the other posters here. Granted I don't do FPs every single day or multiple times per day but in the span of 7 years, I've rarely had a negative experience. Think there's been one where the tank threw a tantrum because others didn't spacebar, and one where a DPS left because they felt the healer wasn't doing their job. Every other one I've been in has been wonderful. In fact, I began pre-emptively space-barring to avoid frustration from other players but each time found myself waiting because everyone else is taking their time watching the scenes. Which is great. Flashpoints I hadn't done before, I'd tell the group at the start and I'd be met with "That's fine!" and receive an explanation for each fight. I had a character who was wearing the wrong gear/stats for her discipline and one of the group members whispered me about it, stating they didn't wish to upset me or cause offense but that I might perform better and die less if... then recommended a guide which really helped. Maybe I'm just really lucky, maybe I'm more inclined to remember the good vs. the bad, but I haven't had any horrific or super toxic experiences at all. Well, either that or maybe from my years of playing WoW I've grown a thick skin and a filter to the point toxic behavior doesn't faze me one bit lol. The only toxicity I've ever noticed has been PvPers raging during a Warzone about no one knowing what to do (which I run into in every MMO so what else is new), and Dromund Kaas chat is a different world altogether but I barely pay attention to that. And in the past days, General chat on both the fleet and planets has been so active and friendly. Lot of newcomers asking questions and getting genuine answers and advice from veteran players instead of being insulted and mocked. That's actually blown me away. Anyway, my mostly positive experience aside, I do wish the adding of friends and ignoring of players was an account-wide deal. It just makes more sense to me. I've been adding a lot of folks in the past few days to help them figure everything out but they can only reach me if I happen to be logged in on that specific toon which is a shame.
