  1. Goreshaga, can you PM me the LotS Theron stuff you guys were talking about? <3 *waves* Hope everyone's well here!
  2. Dozens of companions have been killed and past cutscenes were not adjusted to reflect that, nor do they need to be. Not sure what makes you think they should be or would be.
  3. Uh... That sounds an awful lot like you're saying that anyone who's ever had a one-night stand with a random hook up, or even those working in certain areas of adult entertainment, are sociopaths.
  4. There are a lot of subtle clues along the way that show his intentions from the start. That's why for me, actually playing through the Traitor Arc was a little easier to stomach than reading the dialogue spoilers beforehand. Helped me approach the storyline as a "My Jedi Knight knew from the start and played along" sort of way.
  5. It's for sure it good thread and discussion to have. Whether we all agree here or not, it's glaringly obvious that players simply miss the companion interactions and variety as we used to have it, that's what all of this comes down to and that's a good note for BW to take home.
  6. Heh, thanks! And I agree, I do believe budget is an issue but I would assume (and I may be completely off base) that if they could, hypothetically, afford to create 5 new companions and have them present for future story, then they could afford to instead have a random selection of 5 existing characters present. Either way lines would have to be voiced and characters would have to be animated etc. Then if you were to make sure you mix in 2-3 "could be dead/unrecruited" companions with 1-2 "definitely alive and present" ones, and prioritize cutscene presence based on relationship flags, then I believe it would offer people a little more variety away from the biggest 'culprit', Lana. With each update, the playerbase would have a fair chance to get to hang with their LI or favorite again. That's ideally speaking though, and I do believe even with 5 new companions the same old issues would resurface soon enough. Plus, if they can't afford to give us those interactions now then I don't have much faith in them doing so with a new set of companions. On top of that, a 'new' group of characters, though not necessarily companions, was introduced with Onslaught and I do have an inkling one or more of them will join the companion roster in the future. Hopefully LI too because my Trooper wants Balkar at last. I'm rambling but for me, the bottom line is that if they're going to invest in companions, if they had such funds, I'd rather see those funds allocated to who we already have.
  7. If that were the case though, I'd prefer them to pick 4-5 different current LI/Comps per patch or story update, on a rotation type basis, and put those resources toward them than to focus on a new set.
  8. I knew a lot of this because I own the book and comics but, damn, it is nice to see everything listed out that way and gathered in one place. Je l'aime ♥
  9. While I can understand the thought behind this idea, and I agree with certain points, I don't want what would in essence be a clean slate. There are companions and LIs right now who are near and dear to my heart, and I'd be gutted if they were replaced with a brand new set. Yes, I'm bummed when I don't get a sweet cutscene with Theron, Arcann or... hell, who even knows what my Quinn is up to these days but, at least we get -something- every now and then. Even if it is only a letter, and I'd rather have that than to see them replaced and never get a thing again from those characters. And, Lord Scourge... we have petitioned for literal years to have him become a romance option, which has only recently started paying off, at long freaking last. Nothing Bioware could offer in the shape of new LIs and companions would ever make me willing to lose him now. I get that sounds selfish when a brand new set of companions and romances might be best overall, for the player majority, but this isn't something I'm willing to support. Adding new companions and LIs, sure, I'm still waiting for Balkar with open arms, but just not in place of the ones we have now. PS: I know you're not suggesting wiping everyone we have now from the board but that is what would end up happening with a brand new party introduced and given screentime/a role to play.
  10. You can, or you can edit the very first thread (chapter one) to change the title and then reply with the other chapters. But if you're unsure of how to do that then yeah, just make a new thread and use that for posting all your chapters.
  11. You reply to the thread with each new chapter to expand upon it. Makes it easier for readers as well, so they can read your entire story in one and the same thread instead of having to click out and search for the next chapter.
  12. Hi. First, welcome to the Fan Fiction section and sharing your story! Second, please be mindful of spamming the forum and keep all chapters for your story confined to one thread instead of creating a new thread for every chapter. It's pretty common practice.
  13. Oh, it was hell. Before that even since some of us had seen spoilers showing certain dialogue lines and in-game mails without further context and oooh boy. Genuinely I cried through the day and felt heartbroken. Oddly, playing through Nathema once it was out brought some relief for me because that's when I saw the storyline for what it was going to be lol. But damn, riding those waves with each update, the long waits in between, and the possibility of losing him for good hanging over our heads was torture.
  14. Ah, I didn't know that part. I've so far only taken the "the more the merrier" option basically. Still, while that validates her presence for those who didn't bring Senya/Arcann/Theron, it remains awkward for others. With the factors you mentioned, it still would have made more sense for Scourge or Kira to be in that scene as they are essential to the story at that point and alive/present for all players regardless of past choices. Throwing Lana in when a portion of the playerbase likely chose to leave her on Odessen just creates yet another instance of stalker-Lana lurking above the bathroom stall with a set of pompoms and an extra bog roll.
  15. And that is irksome. She wasn't even a part of the mission, she stayed behind, which makes her the least obvious and logical choice for that scene yet there she is. That right there does show clear bias because they made the deliberate effort to place Lana in that scene despite having equally available and better-suited options. Or they're just trolling us at this point, well aware of how we feel about 'waking up to Lana' scenes so when the writer said "Hey, the PC is unconscious, what should we do?", the whole creative team just went "Lana them LUL!"
  16. Yep, that'd be an expensive feat, but cutting back on Lana's screentime doesn't necessarily mean she has to be replaced in scenes by all LIs. So long as it is someone else for a change, anyone else. Hell, let me wake up to Vette doodling on my face for once, something fun and different. But that's also where the problem lies because Vette might be dead for some players. Too many of the other companions, LIs or not, might be dead or were left unrecruited by players, are in essence optional and thus not suitable for a "everyone gets this" type scene. Hence, Lana. We've got new folks to work with like Tau but they're contacts, not an actual part of our team so again, it defaults to Lana. BW really screwed us and themselves by making so many others in their colorful cast of characters killable and/or optional.
  17. Lana is the forced BFF for anyone who didn't romance her. The one constant, the PC's rock, the one who will always be there come hell or high water, and while that's not the worst thing for character traits, it feels the writers never stopped to wonder whether that is something players want and enjoy. Like, it's a nice concept but it doesn't work out in a game where said player is likely to have a LI who isn't Lana, which then has her come off as obsessive and intrusive. In a game where the variety of choices to an extend let us decide who our character is as a person, with a social circle that Lana just doesn't fit in to, effectively making her that one specific individual in life you're constantly trying to avoid yet you can't take a dump without them showing up all "Hey need another roll buddy?". It's not cute, it's not charming, and it's far too over the top to be excused as a crush. Write her as a more neutral individual and save any personal dialogue for associated options the player can pick if they choose it, rather than insisting she is everyone's close friend and players just have to put up with it.
  18. I'd like to request not locking threads in Fan Fiction & Fan Art. Creators in both sections often keep their work in one thread, and may not update for months at a time but should still have the ability to do so once they have something new to share. Similarly, people may want to leave a comment on old works and should have that chance even if the thread's been inactive for a while.
  19. I don't want her dead (really sick of killable companions), I'd just be happy if they can knock it off with the "unconscious/sleeping PC wakes up to Lana hovering in their damn face" scenes. It's happened so often now you could montage that stuff to the Psycho/shower theme for a laugh.
  20. With the Steam release, a lot of old players and new faces have started playing again. Many who missed out on Shae's original promo's. I see no problem with them getting their chance now and uh, it's been a few days and my Shae is still as special to me as she always has been.
  21. Came here to look for info and post it as a bug. Currently 8/28 the bug persists, no level sync.
