  1. Balmorra and Hutta in Act 1 (Nar Shaddaa to a lesser extent at times), most of Act 2, and the very end of Act 3, those are some prime agent stuff, but apart from that, i do feel that the agent is a bit too open about who he is in class quests, not enough infiltration or subterfuge. Ofcourse, class stories are a very minor part of the levelling process, and almost every generic quest refers to you as "agent" at some point, so that might add to the feeling.
  2. hardmodes give no LS/DS or Social points. sucks, i'd be close to social rank 10 by now, instead of social 2.
  3. sniper and gunslingers can't be interrupted while in cover. that's thebad news, now, the good news is that, atleast with snipers, all their decent damage skills have cast time, and LoS them, forcing them to run after you (leaving cover), or sitting there and waiting until you're ready to attack them.
  4. I used to say that SWTOR is a singleplayer game, but then i took an arrow to the knee.
  5. Most agents i see are either Chiss or Human, playing a human agent myself. Although with full head covering masks it's often hard to tell.
  6. Problem is not that they're worse than player tanks in flashpoints/heroics, the problem is that they suck even in normal quests, easily ending at half health during a normal fight against1/2 strong mobs and 2/3 normals. It's just more time efficient to use a dps comp for quick kill (and heal yourself afterwards), or healing comp to reduce/eliminate downtime (with little to no dps lost when compared to tank cfompanion). Tank companions need some love.
  7. These pictures are supposed to prove something? In the one picture i checked closer, there was someone who had less than half your damage done, but 10 more kills, and one who had a bit over 25% of your damage done, and 14 more kills. In fact, only thing you are on top with, is damage done, which tells us nothing, except that people you fought, took damage, BUT DID NOT DIE, so we can assume they got healed and you could not burst through the healing done, but others could.
  8. Sniper volley stacks up to 3, and then runs out. You can't renew it after it hits 3, so you might be better served by picking something else. I have it, took it while levelling before i noticed it could not be kept up (haven't respecked), if i had known, i would have passed it. Hoping that the inability to keep it up is a bug, but even if it is, i doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.
  9. No noticeable differences in my end. Although i rarely have had issues with cover in PvE since they fixed natural cover but that kept disrupting casts, and in Ilum there was 2 full operations going at each other so with the insane lag it was impossible to see how much was due to lag and how much the game itself.
  10. Trust me, snipers suck against melee (cover pulse helps, but not by much).
  11. We can also wear the hooligan's set gear (moddable, level 27 and up i think), which is a nice looking imperial officer uniform (medium armor). But yeah, not much, or any, reason to pick sniper before other ranged dps, our dps iss, at best, the same, and we lack utility outside of direct damage.
  12. What annoys me about targetting, that it oftens moves from my first target to another, then on second tab it moves back to my original target, after which it might, or might not pick a third target, or just switch back the the second target after which i get to the third target in the group.
  13. There is nothing that cover does for us. Without it, we don't get access to our main damage dealing skills, with it, we are immobile. Natural cover gives some damage protection, but is rare, portably gives little damage protection, and mostly only from other snipers or gunslinger smugglers. Either we need 1. More damage and/or range (currently, due to how mitigation works, we do crap damage to most targets in pvp, and even when we don't, our range increaseis so short that any ranged target can easily just take a step back negating our damage completely, forcing us to move and making us vulnerable). 2. More utility (in forms of CC and debuffs). 3. Or they should turn one of our trees into a tank one (marksmanship could make a great ranged tank with little tooling about).
  14. The damage is taken from the mob immediatly, even before the animation is finished. It's somewhat odd to see a blaster bolt hit an enemiy and nothing happening, but the damage was dealt, the animations just lag behind.
  15. things i don't like: short things i like: everything else
  16. Bioware has stated that the Ilum pvp was broken, and they are working on it. Also, not all of us give a **** about pvp or valor.
  17. 6 month sub here. Love the story, gameplay is good (though some issues like ability delay exist), pvp is somewhat more tolerable than most games and operations are fun to play though. Somewhat dissapointed about the usual "1 huge boss versus army of little dudes", which Bioware had said they did not think heroic (was hoping more fights that are less about one big boss and more about group cohesion dealing with mutiple things at the same time). but all in all, awesome game, and can't wait for them to release more content.
  18. *load patch, install, wait for servers to come online* *log in the second servers are available* *rush to Ilum to do the dailies, curse the ability delay in mass pvp* *be happy that atleast there some fighting going in pvp area* *go and do the new flashpoint in hardmode, immensely enjoy the experience* *pick the follow up quest, rush to the robot at the flashpoint portal, "wait for next major patch"* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! All in all, great show Bioware, hoping for more of the same in the future. Also, a short wish list for future: More dialogue and DS/LS choices in flashpoints. Fix it so we get the damn social points from heroics.
  19. it would be better if they brought gifts i could use, but they keep bringing me stuff none of my toons needs (either comp in question is maxed already, or nobody wants them to begin with), having to run to GTN or vendor them constantly is annoying (i just want some bloody blue metals so i can grind for purple mod patterns).
  20. Thank the Force i chose imperial. Imperial side Voss was a constant parade of success and sublety, topped only by the IA questline that was totally awesome in Voss. Got to feel sorry for you, not even Republic Scum deserves to take part in such trainwreck.
  21. It would be awesome if i could always have 1 of each mission available to me, unfortunately i often have to either not send comps to missions on UT, or send them for something i don't want and hope they bring back a schema (rare, and almost always synth, and my BH is armormech).
  22. I have 3 issues with the UI as it stands. 1. not enough quickbars, one more at the bottom of the screen would be nice to have. 2. left and right quickbars can and do get covered by stuff, right in voidstar, left by inventory (and chat creen if i keep it large enough to see more than few lines of text). 3. Chatscreen is placed so it constantly covers my targets in groud combat, and is almost unusable in space combat, not to mention the chat options are woefully limited (whty can't i get rid of need/greed and /roll spam without loosing stuff i actually need to keep track of?
  23. Depends on fight. On boss fights, i usually start with applying laze target, going to cover, use breakshot and corrosive dart, follow with instant snipe and quickened ambush from crit and then followthrough. after that, i just do snipe and followthrough and keep corrosive dart and breakshot up when needed laze target and quickened ambush whenever possible (might salve laze target if ambush has little cooldown left and use it just before ambush comes out of CD), using either rifle shot, non quickened ambush or series of shots to regain energy when necessary. explosive probe is an energy hog so i usually don't bother with it except when i need to set up a large burst (and nobody else is damaging the opponent) or want to take a regular mob down in couple seconds of combat starting. regular mobs, i just ambush -> instant snipe -> followthrough any normal mobs, use snipe + rifle shot or followthrough to kill weaklings and then concentrate on any strong/elite mobs left on strong/elite mobs it usually is laze -> breakshot -> corrosive dart -> rifle shot -> snipe -> followthrough -> quickened ambush -> snipe -> followthrough with rifle shots for energy gain and corrosive darts reapplied when required) Might use CC to set up a good burst with explosive probe on longer fights. also, on larger normal or weak mob groups i might just drop a orbital strike on them and concentrate from the beginning on the strong/elite mob.
  24. the energy increase is not really that bad, throw a rifle shot somewhere there at the end and you get the lost energy back and have had more dps.
