  1. Lokin is awesome, he heals, and has some of the best jokes, and i love his personality. Temple is nice, a loyal imperial, and does decent dps in addition to my dps, but is squishy and can't heal, so she's not good at long fights. Kaliyo is my go to companion on most solo dailies, she keeps the mobs of me so i can burst or aoe them down in seconds, she still rather fragile though, even with full Tionese gear. Vector and Scorpio tend to go unused, and i tried ship droid once, and sent him back to the ship after he kept insisting on running to the mobs and hitting them.
  2. lol, was just going to log in, check if rolling back my graphics drivers had fixed the issue with bloom and maybe do some dailies before logging out. server unavailable
  3. In my case, i went for Armormech on my bounty hunter because, i had already maxed cybertech on my agent.
  4. The fashion police in the galaxy far, far away, are not only extremely powerfull, but they are multinational.
  5. Sarcasm should be avoided in the interwebz, same for satire. There really is no position so insane or idiotic, that you won't find a group of people who genuinely hold and believe in it.
  6. Are you intentionally misunderstanding the point? It is harder for the fresh greens guy, than it was for those who hit 50 when everyone was new to 50. So he gets a minor leg up by being allowed to buy some baseline pvp gear to smooth things over.
  7. Yeah, it seems i'll be sticking to the orange gear i'm using now.
  8. You have completely misunderstood my point. More time goes, better the gear of those already 50 becomes, and harder it becomes to those just entering. It gets easier, to the ones at the top of the gear cap. Which was my excact point, the challenge at the entry level becomes higher over time because those already there have good gear, so someone who has just hit 50 will be disadvantaged more than someone who hit 50 at the beginning of the game. While i agree that people should get their gear upgraded in timely manner before starting endgame activities, be it pve or pvp, you ignore the fact that there is a limit on how far you can upgrade your gear without either farming hardmodes or doing pvp. Bioware does not want to force people do pve to succeed in pvp, therefore that's out, and the barrier of entry keeps going up overtime as those already in will keep improving their gear, making the fresh entries face highe challenge than those who hit 50 at the beginning nd faced others of relatively equal gear. And let's not forget that Bioware is adding rated warzones and another tier of pvp gear, so the full champion simply becomes the starting baseline for pvp, sure some might feel cheated for having "worked" for their gear (let's face it, it was just a grind, no great challenge), i have almost full set of champion on my sniper (missing pants), but i don't feel cheated, it just levels the playing field, making fights more fair, more skill dependant, and less about who has been at 50 the longest (or has most playtime).
  9. Because of how the challenge in pvp and pve is handled. Hardmodes don't get harder over time, the challenge is static, and the path to rewards remains the same no matter how long you took to hit 50. PvP however does get harder, the longer time goes, the better gear your opponents will have, so you end up in a situation where you become practically a free kill when you start because most of your opponents are so well geared when compared to you.
  10. It does not matter what the point was meant to be, but how it ends up feeling. I have two level 50s, a Sniper and Powertech, one is dps, the other a tank, both have good gear, and neither can really go about without a companion in any protracted fight. Now, one way to solve this would be to buff people slightly when not using a companion, but not to the extent that using a companion would not still be more effective, another would be to set up fights where you actually duel the enemy, without companion or help, and the enemy would be weakened to make it doable solo, both are unlikely to happen though, and possibly not worth it expect in some very specific circumstances. Remember how the devs kept talking about raiding, and how it was not "heroic" to have bunch of people attacking one boss in order to steal their pants? and how they wanted to do things differently? Well, they blew it, not only are the ops mostly just that, bunch of people ganging up on one enemy, but the solo play fails in that also, you are not fighting overwhelming odds, you are ganging up on some poor elite dude to kill him/her, and only the weak/strong packs have you fighting groups larger than yours (and on heroic quests and flashpoints, you often outnumber the mob packs you fight).
  11. The OP does have a point. Don't misunderstand me, i love the companion mechanics, and think they should be expanded and improved upon. But, needing to have a companion for most fights can cheapen the feel of having an "epic" duel with a strong enemy. Not an issue in general gameplay mind you, it's you, and your sidekick against large numbers of enemies, all great, but then comes this one fight, a duel against a known and hated enemy, sometimes you even agree to a duel, and then, it's not, it's 2 against 1, and it can feel a bit cheaper than it would if you had killed your enemy on your own.
  12. I had no problems, using Mako, was level 50, had purple armor and base mods in my gear, otherwise 40 to 45 blue gear. took a while, but got them in one go.
  13. the Relentless (or however it was spelled). Suits well for a bounty hunter.
  14. can i have some of whatever it is you're smoking?
  15. Sniper root breaks on damage, so unless there is nobody else on the target, it is barely worth using, if there is nobody else on the target, they make a goal 5 seconds later, or pass the ball to a friend who goals, or break the root (Powertech AP spec has root removal/speed buff, not sure of other classes). Not saying root is not usefull, but it is hardly powerfull enough to even make a dent to all the issues snipers have, and claiming it's as usefull as grapple or pull or force speed, is beyond hilarious.
  16. Thana was awesome. My BH killed her (i told her i would), my agent did not (i'm a loyal imperial). All in all, awesome character, abrasive, arrogant, annoying (in amusing way), just the kind of person you love to hate (anyone not leave her to the holding cell at the Katar killing mission?).
  17. i'd like to add to that the ideas of biological, chemical and economic warfare. And i don't mean economic warfare just by outspending the other party, or trying to drive them to bankrupt, but infiltrating the enemy economical framework and destroying it by duping people into practices that, on the long run, will end up destroying the economical framework of the enemy nation/society. EDIT- you get to keep a reasonably functional planet?
  18. love 1. Class stories 2. Flashpoints 3. Personal starships 4. Moddable gear 5. sound and graphics want fixed 1. Tab targetting. 2. Mouse click targetting. 3. Class imbalances (smugglers are underpowered, sorcerers overpowered). 4. Ilum pvp daily is crazy (i hate crates, no idea how to fix this one to be honest). 5. Space combat too predictable.
  19. I could actually see people go in WZ's, and leave them just so they could get the title.
  20. well we got it on third, used the harmoode method, split and always let south unlock first. may or may not have anything to do with success, but considering that non split ended up resetting 4 times in one go it might have.
  21. has the pylons bugged? we've been doing to pylon boss as a one group (on normal), and the pylons keep resetting on us, while the enemies keep spawning.
  22. To be precise, 60% is the magic number, above is awesome, below is hell.
  23. Depends on the hunter/trooper, mostly tank specked AC's (powertech and something), but i do find occasional merc/commando who i can't make a dent at.
