  1. As far as I know, Evocii have existed before SWTOR in lore. They have always been subservient to the Hutts. Miraluka and Chiss are not in the movies because their species did not exist/were not added by Lucas into the films. Miraluka, as far as I am aware, were added in 2005 with Visas Marr (could be wrong though) and Chiss are simply allowing the Empire to use some of their Chiss population to keep an alliance between the Empire and the Ascendency so their location and people are still left relatively unknown and isolated. Its mostly because Star Wars lore expands beyond the movies. The aliens are not in the movies because no actor was dressed up for that species. In-universe wise, yes, there already was a bit of diversity in the Films for places that would have it, like the cantinas or the Senate chambers. I am not sure what you are getting at here. Are you asking why some aliens are more predominant in the movies than others? Goes back to my last response: the characters were chosen as that species, nothing more. Yoda's race is mysterious, not extinct. Lore leaves no implications on anything about them. Chiss part is true. Non-human species aren't rare but considering there are so many of them, meeting any single one of them would be likely. It goes back to the first response though, the characters made the species were simply chosen. In an IP where thousands of sentients exist with new ones being made by authors, writers, and artists each year, it becomes hard to "integrate" them as common characters in lore. Therefore, usually the first species to appear (the ones that we see in the movies) tend to be considered the most common because they were thought up "first" per say. I would just argue its a matter how far certain aliens spread in the galaxy and how many they are in simple population. While humans arguably dominate the galactic population, Twi'leks and Rodians can be considered among the close follow-ups. Kiliks have several hives and Alderaan is not their only planet. They survive Alderaan's destruction and exist throughout the galaxy.
  2. White and Camo Imperial Trooper armor would be me most welcome.
  3. Is there any particular reason the hood toggle option mentioned to be "in the works" months ago (and said to be in the next update after 1.2) has not been implemented yet?
  4. They were not remodeled much. In your link you provided, their is a picture of a Selkath wearing boots, and the only notable difference is that SWTOR only provides a "thin" model while the original KOTOR depiction had them appear as a little bit wider framed. Their body structure is essentially humanoid, so I personally do not see the huge difference.
  5. Obi-Wan vs Maul had him use emotion and then lose. When he remembered his teachings and used a calm and serene mind to cunningly evade the (literal) pitfall of the fight. Edit: And Anakin was a Jedi who was falling to the Dark Side and purposely ignored the Jedi Code. How is that following the Jedi way?
  6. What if it was .02 for .1 when fully implemented? I am assuming the damage boost would be closer to the 5-10% range for an increase.
  7. The real world comparison you mention is similar to the Republic symbol. The Benduu (I believe the spelling is wrong) is a symbol of peace for a group of monks. The Sith who have adopted the symbol would probably align their Empire's prosperity during peace and preparation as a result of this, and the war they are fighting is to rid the world of the Republic who disrupts their peace. During Palpatine's era, he probably threw it up there to gather the masses behind a symbol of peace against the "rebelling" Separatists who are trying to attack them (notice the Separatists were planning to attack Coruscant in Ep II. What historic event from TOR's timeframe would that remind the citizens of and spark a panic?). With the Sacking of Coruscant in mind, Palpatine could easily rally the people behind him as he proclaims he is defending the Republic.
  8. Palpatine was sowing the seeds slowly because he to: a) keep up appearances b) not look too suspicious to have anyone (especially lil Ani) catch on c) make sure he is ready for when he unveils his master plan While Palpatine's method was the slow and efficient way to keep the timing and incognito in check, Malak is just actively torturing and whispering thoughts into Bastila's head.
  9. I am actually curious of what would happen if a Sith had a birthday party.
  10. Sounds like a good idea, may be why we are seeing these feedback threads; BW may be trying to gather player feedback as they begin solidifying their plans to add new abilities with the level cap. However, while I agree with what you say in PVE, as I do not play exclusively to one side or the other, I still believe maneuverability is important to some aspects of both PVP and PVE gameplay. Some boss encounters and (rarely) some trash mobs require you to move. A lot of range classes are fine as most have several abilities to use while moving and melee classes usually need to move to keep up with the boss or trash anyway (Where usually there is no danger zone or only requires them to circle the boss). In contrast, we get Shock and Affliction, neither of which is very helpful when Mentor is firing down his rockets or HK-47 has a laser homing in on you. I am no good with the math required to calculate and have no insiders peek to BW's metrics to even begin to have an idea of how it is supposed to look. I am just throwing out the ideas and if they are possible and beneficial, do them.
  11. I like a lot of your suggestions. However, I am going to disagree with LS being mobile breaking the class. It will still have its cast time which still takes time, also, any class focusing us would still suffer pushback and possible interrupts. We would only have access to Shock, Affliction, and LS (which would still have its cast timer). As a result, if Thundering Blast was given a small buff to its base damage and made a bit more worthwhile, it would be a real shame to have that blocked off while on the go. We would need to rely on Shock to possibly give us CL for a small burst. Plus the fact we can still suffer CC and roots would hinder us more. The only dynamic that would change would be how we use our CC to keep players away but actually do a little damage while making some distance, followed by getting CC'd and that distance being closed in so it makes little pay off. Imo, it would be no different than other range classes who basically have their basic blaster shot ability to shoot on the move, only ours is a small burst over a larger timeframe. I have no doubt a few other changes would need to be made to LS damage wise or a few of our other Passive abilities but I think a small sacrifice to damage for some maneuverability will help stabilize our DPS to be about the same but with an actual fighting chance when we that random Sentinel Force leaps at us to get out of there alive.
  12. Hi, I am a Lightning spec Sorcerer. 1) Our final ability, Thundering Blast, seems a bit weak even with the automatic crit we get from casting our target with affliction. 2) Our class lacks the maneuverability needed in PVP and some instances of PVE. While our damage is high, it becomes zero once we are forced to kite and run. Even though we are forced into place to cast our Force powers, we are too squishy to actually just stand there and let other classes hit us. We also can only be most effective in certain positions and even then we do not have access or range to the whole battlefield hot spot. 3) Our class currently has abilities that are a must have for most specs and have caused Sorcerers to become multiple hybrid specs, which is something your development team discourages. This causes Lightning to just be the spec that left over points go to for the need Passive abilities. 4) Alacrity is one of the only ways for us to reduce our ridiculously long cast times that can still suffer interruptions, losing line of sight from our position (see 2), be pushed back by damage during casting, and can not be completed because we die before it is fully cast. Even though this reduces cast time, it is rather minimal for the amount we stack up and also accelerates how fast we lose our regeneration. A Sorc that manages well can slow down our depletion but makes alacrity seem unviable compared to power or critical rating, two other abilities that may be considered essential to Lightning spec Sorcerers. _______________________________________________________________________________________ These four issues need to be addressed. A way to help this would to be to allow Shock to trigger our free Chain Lightning so while on the move, we can at least have a chance for a free burst of damage on a class dogging us and not just wait until Shock finishes cooldown for it to give such minimal damage. On the other hand, since Lightning Strike is a necessary filler for Lightning Sorcerers. You could allow one of our Passive abilities to modify how Lightning Strike works (I would recommend this further up in the tree so hybrid specs cannot attain it easily). Currently Lightning Strike interrupts whenever we move out of our casting spot. How about the Passive ability allows the ability to not interrupt and keep casting. It will be an ability that has to go through once we press the button to use it. Since the Lightning Sorcerer rotation requires us to spam pressing our 1 key to use it anyway, it will not hinder how the class is played since anyone who would want to move to interrupt it would just be a know-nothing who is ignorant of how the class works. With this and Shock being able to trigger our free Chain Lightning, the class maneuverability would be solved. We would then be limited to not being able to use Thundering Blast and Crushing Darkness, two big abilities in our rotation that (if Thundering Blast is buffered) will be a big hit to our DPS while not completely crippling it. Also, on the topic of Crushing Darkness. The ability itself works fine but the sound effect is terrible. I am an auditory player, so I like to watch my opponent and listen to my abilities as they activate instead of watching a cast timer charge up my Force power. All of Lightning Spec has a distinct sound the but the Sith Inquisitor does not have a sound effect for Crushing Darkness other than for the opponent who has it cast on them. That opponent needs to be close by for me to hear it. Therefore, I can suddenly feel confused when I go from hearing the constant jolts of Lightning Strike, Affliction, Chain Lightning, and Thundering Blast, to hearing an absolute silence for over 2 seconds. A sound effect for when we are casting the power would help keep the flow and focus of the player who is taken aback by the sudden silence. This silence can be interrupted as being out of range or lose sight of the target or not facing them and can confuse the player. Buff Thundering Blast in some way to help its damage output more and giving alacrity a more viable benefit would do wonders to helping the class be used as a full spec more often than just a hybrid spec. Thank you for your time to hear my feedback on one spec for Sorcerers.
  13. Correction: 97% efficient genocide.
  14. I think it is no secret that Lightning gets both ends of the stick when a major patch comes by. On the one hand, we barely get hit in the patch notes. On the other hand, we barely get hit with the patch notes. A lot of hybrid builds with Lightning do exist but Bioware does not like hybrid heavy specs. Clearly, since Sorcerer's are currently getting the best of Lightning and and discarding the rest for Madness, there is a problem. With this thread, we can maybe gather our ideas and suggestions of how to improve Lighting spec. I am not the most knowledgeable player or the best for his opinion but that is why I think getting a lot of Sorcerer's in the community to pitch in would be positive to get different angles on what should or should not be done to Lightning Sorcerers. Here are my suggestions: I find the spec to be a hit or miss type of spec. When you get into that magical position, where you are team is being the full distraction and no one is even bothering to look toward your direction, Lighting does extremely well and can win games. Unfortunately, our squishiness combined with our lack of maneuverability can make the above scenario be a miracle in its own right. More often then not, it only takes one player to see us and then our DPS is effectively shut down. We are forced in place, suffer cast times that can be interrupted, if we try to run we are useless to the team, we are a quick kill, and have some lackluster abilities. In essence, I think moves like Shock need to proc Chain Lighting, even if it is just a 10-30% chance, to help with the maneuverability issue. Another great idea to help this class out is to allow some of are moves be able to have cast times on the move, such as Lightning Shock. Our LS is already a filler in our rotation so having it on the go would help at least keep up a minimial DPS in PVP and PVE. Thundering Blast is really just a pain for a final ability. For such a long cast time, no amount of alacrity makes up for its underwhelming damage even after that crit from Affliction. A small boost to its base damage to help with its overall damage in the rotation would help Lightning actually get some worthwhile burst before getting shutdown by that Sage seeing you hiding over there in the corner.
  15. I hope so. All that and maps being bound to legacy would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Beautiful animation and a nice tie in. Seems Darth Maul may take up quite a few episodes this season.
  17. I love how some people are rationalizing, "I cannot believe Revan was killed by me and 4 other nerds!" By that logic, he should be able to be killed by you because you would be the nerd who played him. Of course, I am sure then it would be, "But he's REVAN!" And then the, "We are not special, there are millions of millions of people like us!" This picking and choosing lore at whim is having me rolling, it is so funny. News flash: Revan is going up against an elite Imperial squad of the best the Empire can get. Lore wise, there is only you and your character who has accomplished the feats you accomplish, everyone else is just another Sith or Bounty Hunter or whatever. This is just like the whining about how canon Revan since before SWTOR was even announced was not, "my Revan."
  18. You guys had mentioned that after 1.3, you would be start churning out content at a much faster pace and start releasing updates on a monthly schedule. Has something changed and that will no longer be the case? It takes nearly a month for you guys to test content so if you are still going to abide by your monthly standards, the next patch would need to be on PTS nearly immediately after the previous patch was released for thorough testing.
  19. This. The fandom (which may end up being canon) is on a general consensus that this is the Sith Empire that ruled the galaxy once before (hence his line, "Once more the Sith shall rule the galaxy"). After becoming Galactic Emperor, the fandom also claims Sidious has tried adopting his great Empire to mirror the great Empire of the past (similar to how many civilizations tried to mirror the great Roman Empire) with their titles, designs, and other similar features.
  20. Pyramid of Diplomacy? I am sure they have some branch for foreign policy since their is a Diplomatic Service division of their government.
  21. I would argue to just allow Imperial Trooper armor to be made available at Social 10 as the "Imperial Grunt" armor set and then just add to the store the snow, crimson, or new Sith Trooper armor sets to the store. Then, when you add more to the CE, you add new sets of the same skin but make them gated by social level. That way, CE owners can get an armor set with out social level restrictions from their store while still making the armor available to others. Since there should be a new armor set in the CE store whenever an old CE armor set is made available to all players, there will always be that, "one step ahead," factor for CE owners. Also, yeah the Imperial Trooper gauntlets and boots completed my look for my SI.
  22. He was not made a DC member from the storyline, he sits right under the position according to Zash and Moff Pyron tells you he overthrew his superior to become a DC member so it was not completely brown nosing. Imo, Vowrawn is weak due to age but is extremely knowledgeable in the arcane. Jadus and Marr are the two I would argue are the strongest but Jadus's reputation may be due to reputation and intimidation on his part and I just get the feeling that Marr runs the show for the most part. He has been a DC member since at least the first Great Galactic War and most likely a bit of time before that too and he seems to show neither withering with age nor fear when challenged.
  23. Be aware that Sith can be Republic through legacy for your personal rp story. While I too feel Cathar not being a SI, BH, and/or IA on the Empire side is silly, A Sith Pureblood being gated by legacy helps limit them and make them a reward. As for the positives: Do you like the variations from standard human-esque races? Do you like the fur? Do you like the eyes? Do you like the customization options? These could be pros and cons so they recognize what the community wants them to focus on most. I have a feeling it is going to be less human-esque races with the most customization options but it is good they are polling it to probably see how specific and particular the community is on this.
