    Malgus

If you read his novel and pay close attention to some of his responses in the FPs, you see he is alluding to his rebellion. Having recently done that FP normal mode (Athis) for the achievement, I can say he is not putting "himself" above the empire, rather he is putting the empire above himself. Like Darth Marr, Darth Malgus saw the flaws that caused the empire to stray from it's roots and go against it's philosophies. His "new" empire serves two purposes: a) If it succeeds, it will be a better, stronger Sith Empire that will be able to grow and properly fight a war with the Republic rather than squabble over political hierarchies. b) If it fails, it will serve as an example of what the Empire could achieve if it didn't focus on said political hierarchies, which devolves into xenophobia and in-fighting, which proved to cause some of the Empire's most devastating defeats on Balmorra, Corellia, and arguably Taris. If the coup enlightened those in power, the Dark Council (which it did), to wake up and realize their own incoming demise and make changes that would make it better, Malgus succeeds. "Die or defeat me. Either way, the Empire is reborn." I take that phrase to mean he knew he already won, it was just a matter of fate taking its course in deciding whether he would lead in the wake of that victory.
  2. Marr's great because he is smart. You don't actually know what he is thinking. Does he hate aliens? Is he looking out for his own interests? Is he preparing a major power play? Who knows, but he definitely knows that the Empire will collapse if things don't change, Malgus' coup being the evidence to that, which will ruin everything for either him or the Sith Order and Sith Empire.
  3. As far as I am concerned, it is an event where Jedi Order compromised their principles to defeat a greater threat they feared and allowed themselves to sway a bit with the secular will of the Republic. It's just being human/sentient so I can't exactly blame them for that happening. Granted, it shows it's moral repercussions as it only germinated more evil, breeding the threat that, in the long-term, is killing them.
  4. Pretty awesome. Not sure if I like that one or this one better though.
  5. /signed. It has been fun seeing how they made the dialogue fit for each class, but it is still far too similar and not personal enough as a class story. All the loose ends from the class stories that I can think of feel unresolved and left hanging and they don't play a part in the Makeb story at all.
  6. Xalek On Quesh when you first arrive at the lift that takes you down to the ground level. I love that he talks more now!
  7. Personally, I think this was a terribly implemented patch launch. For all the bug fixes, this patch added a lot more bugs to the game both related and un-related to the new fluff, not to mention the Collections is an utter mess. Throw that in with players who dislike the gambling system with dyes and the implementation of the cartel market as the only way to access these features (not even in-game credits as a work-around anymore) and this patch gives the QQ'ers the feeling of "being nickel and dimed" for everything that wasn't even done "right" to begin with. Just my observations though.
  8. I think it's the color that is bothering him. The cuffs and shirt look off color-wise.
  9. My only issue is that they cap it at 8. I think the cap should be 12-15, which is the average highest I see people get, then factor in everything else, so that even players who lose but did well get 130+ coms and those who won and did well get 200+ coms.
  10. "Lore-gear" that can be color-unified but not dyed sounds silly to me. They are outright listed as "replicas" which can be worn by hundreds at once in front of you. Not only is it explained they are replicas to give it a "lore" reason for existing to players, it is also able to be color-matched to your chest piece. This restriction seems superfluous to me and has no reasonable justification for being in place. The only reason I am seeing is (based on the data mined game files) that they put it in place to help bank off recolored versions of armors being sold in more Cartel Packs, simply to provide them more profit. I may be wrong but I don't think that implication is very endearing to players. Personally, I don't mind either way but I think allowing these "lore outfits" to be dyed would be better for the community.
  11. Unlike Marvel, Star Wars actually has places to go and doesn't just trap itself within it's own universe's timeframe. There are thousands of years before and after the movies to explore and a diverse array of characters from all different angles. A reboot when there is so much to still expand and elaborate on sounds unnecessary.
  12. Body Type 5 does exist in-game. I know on at least Hoth, several Imperial troopers have the physique of Body Type 2 but the height of Body type 3. It exists so it can be added.
  13. Play all the class stories, do all the world quests, and every bit of content related to the overall galactic conflict and you can see why the Empire is in such poor shape. All our "victories" on our side are quickly undone by the Republic after our character leaves to continue with the more pressing issues of our individual classes. With Taris being our only claim to fame, one that in the greater scheme of things is rather insignificant, and a lot of our resources and opportunities mismanaged, the Empire was dismantling. The whole reason the Dread Masters and Malgus made their move was because the Empire was falling apart, so yeah, we were already repulsed pretty far and a lot of the intelligent Sith cut ties and took power when they saw the chance. Our Emperor being silent alone has caused the power vacuum that made this possible, culminating in our fractured Empire that has been struggling to stay together.
  14. The CIS was created to be destroyed. Propaganda would make them the constant threat to push the Senate to give Palpatine more power while Sidious made sure the war dragged out long enough with enough crises to always make the populace scared. If the CIS ever got an advantage that Sidious believed would change the war too much in their favor, he would make sure it was destroyed by any means necessary such as leaking "intelligence" that would allow the Republic to destroy the threat.
  15. What?! Are you sure you didn't mistake her for another "tween" you were watching on a different channel?
  16. To be fair, just because it is the only thing you hear being bashed about the novel, doesn't make it invalid. Also, it is an easy read, but it is definitely not expertly written. I am not expecting it to be something to find in a High School Anthology but it definitely is something even a 7-year old can read.
  17. ...except for the callous acts of cruelty, immersion in dark teachings to attain power, malicious and often destructive intent to corrupt individuals, ruining multiple lives to serve his cause, and discarding all his Jedi teachings in place of Sith mantra...
  18. You are kidding me right? You are actually going to tell me A New Hope isn't the most tired, dried out formula with the most done to death themes since ancient times? You lost all credibility in my eyes.
  19. I heard the cries of millions of enraged Star Wars fans all shout out at once and then were silent.
  20. Unknown but I assume mandatory since they considered "loosening" the restrictions necessary after so many Sith were lost during the First Great Galactic War. More than likely, it was a type of filter to make sure no "weakliings" would fall through the cracks.
  21. Since there is an event involved and it is a major part of the patch, they probably are trying to keep it like there are other events, relatively new and unknown for players logging in. PTS would spoil the "surprise." That is how I see it. Personally, I think not testing this is going to do more harm than good.
  22. I always viewed him as just being some one with an irritable temperament. I thought he found Thanaton's philosophy as a type of crutch to increase his power base among the Council and ravage despised it as stupid and cowardly. He openly admits he thinks the Kaggath (and all "traditions" in general) were ridiculous formalities. "Murder has no rules." Thanaton tried justifying and shielding himself behind these cultural (and not law-binding) Sith ideas and traditions that really, from a Sith perspective, are more detrimental to their Order and its philosophy. Ravage sums it up best with the above quote. Why would a Sith purposefully let himself be restricted by some non-existent rule that just hinders your ability to kill the opponent. It makes sense. So I think it is more he thought Thanaton hid behind traditions instead of backing his powerbase with raw power and wit, hence why he considered him weak. On a similar note: I always thought Ravage was weak as well as far as Council members go.
  23. Old age and ugliness caught up to him early, he couldn't look any worse by their time. Also, I don't see Zash up there. She deserves applause for keeping up her good looks considering...
