  1. I wonder if this is one of those hidden surprises one of the Bioware devs mentioned. I wonder if there will be a manhunt to find its significance and what items you get from it.
  2. Canon-wise, General Hoth just happens to be named after Hoth, he is not named because of it. The soldiers who say he is like, "an icey, cold planet," were not aware of Hoth's existence. While the author obvious made it a reference to the planet, lore-wise, since Hoth was pre-established in the EU (or maybe came after the comics) as existing before General Hoth's timeline, the connection is completely coincidental.
  3. Of course, that can be argued due to him being the father of Revan Reborn... from a certain point of view.
  4. As a TF2 player, Spectator mode was one of the best parts of the game. Following any player or watching a camera from a fixed point to see some of the bigger pictures or corners has lots of good qualities. Unfortunately, there are pros and cons: Pros: -A wonderful feature to see competitive matches -could be accessed from any cantina from a screen that then lets you select any instance of the Pit to watch and enjoy on your server -Brings life to the world as players gather around to watch a game of Huttball -Brings us one more step closer to community driven Huttball Leagues Cons: -May cause lag for players in the warzone if more players are expected to be in-sync with the game -If not put on a 3-5 second delay, can become easily abused to help teams -May have interface issues I really want to see this feature in though so I give my full support for it.
  5. Yeah because it definitely isn't the numerous amounts of duplicate threads repeating the same topic flooding the front page. I have been here for 5 years, and posted on many of those types of threads. It is not a conspiracy, stop making it one.
  6. In order: No; tough choice. Both answers make me sad.
  7. Yet I find it still the best thing Star Wars came up with for a while (excluding this game).
  8. My issue is Crushing Darkness with the audio ques. The ability is completely silent during its cast time and and has no sound effect other than what the opponent hears as it is cast on them. I would like at least some sound effect or even my SI to make a small chuckle or laugh during that cast time to alert me that he is doing it.
  9. Is the previously mentioned schedule of monthly patch updates still planned to start happening? As of now, it takes a month of PTS testing for a patch to go live. As a result, patches take, minimally a month and a half to two months because of the delay between developer and community advertisement of any patch, and deploying the patch. With 1.3 now released long after a month since 1.2 but the quote (I am paraphrasing) of content getting pumped out at a fast pace being stated, I am curious if anything has changed.
  10. Eh.... Star Wars is cliche.
  11. 1) Yes or No to Cathar being the new race? Yes. 2) If Yes, why? If No, why not? New races implies the willingness of BW to implement new species. if so, then that means other species we love can be implemented. 3) If Yes, Species you would also like to see, if any? If No, Species you would rather see, if any? I would love to see Togruta, Nautolan, Falleen, Zygerrians, Duros, Devaronian, and Weequay . 4) Do you feel Cathar are too Republic aligned to fit well as a section for the Empire? Despite the political changes in the story, the class stories always start in the beginning of this MMO's evolving passage of time as the game continues to get updates. However, the elitist Empire has a class that specifically is tailored to this, the Sith Inquisitor, and a Bounty Hunter can be any race really since he is a neutral party (regardless of perceived cultural affiliations of that species since a Bounty Hunter can roleplay having none of that). I would even push for the Imperial Agent to have a Cathar since any non-Human in Imperial Intelligence was allowing them to blend in with the Republic. 5) Do you feel Cathar like most already implemented species resemble humans to greatly? Not at all. The Cathar face and nose structure, while humanoid in form, has several unique traits that shows BW slightly branching out from a human face model. While definitely not jumping from a human to a Duros or a Wookie or a Jawa, it definitely is reaching out to areas I have wanted to be explored in species. 6) Addition Pro/Cons towards or against Cathar? Pros: The success and feedback on this species can help fuel the mentioned species I want to be in-game. Maybe next they will implement a body model with the spine of the Falleen when stripped naked, include the unique faces of the Duros (the in-game Duros model they have looks nothing like the majority of Duros with the way their mouths contort) with more variety. There is a lot to look forward too. Cons: Cathar are not a species everyone wants in comparison to other species and it is possible to be very bland in customization options.
  12. While my Sith is enjoying his wonderful Ashara, I always thought Talos Drellik could be an option for SGR (especially in one of his conversations which would be a great way to hit it off). Same with females and Ashara, I can see it working out even though I will not pursue it.
  13. Any lightning tree sorcerers down here? How is that maneuverability in PVP?
  14. You must really hate a lot of post-game EU novels then.
  15. Bioware's plot for the lore in this time period is really well put. Once all class stories happen and are settled, the power vacuum is taking up the current story for both sides and is causing a lot of problems for Imps and Pubs as they try to strangle the other. Based on some of the stuff I read too, more familiar faces will be appearing in FPs and Ops. I like it.
  16. Umbara would just be awesome. The flora, fauna, and tech on that planet would really be so unique from anything an MMO has released imo. I think making it the size of Alderaan and really make pvp viable in the open world would really help it stand out. http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep407/gallery_aa23/gallery01.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep407/gallery_aa23/gallery05.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep407/gallery_aa23/gallery06.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep407/gallery_aa23/gallery07.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep407/gallery_aa23/gallery18.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep408/gallery/gallery06.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep408/gallery/gallery11.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep408/gallery/gallery15.jpg http://www.starwars.com/img/explore/the-clone-wars/slideshow/ep410/gallery/gallery08.jpg http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/9/94/Umbara_flying_creature.jpg
  17. Probably, they want to know, what was good and bad about each race. For instance: Miraluka Positives: interesting species ability, nice rare species in-game Negatives: Looks too much like a human with blindfold, not enough customization options (like blindfolds), unique customization options could not be colored, did not allow optimal appearance customization with armors So the community lists the positives and negatives and the devs go, "Okay, the community likes how the Cathar is less human-esque and a bit more out there. Okay, now they are saying they disliked the fact there was a lack of hair options for the race. Okay, the chiss are liked for their eyes, the twi'lek are liked for their head tails, and the rattaki were disliked for looking to generic on Sith side. Okay, let us try a Nautolan and try to make as many customization options with the face, color, and head tails as possible." I can see how this will work really well. People who like Twi'lek head tails but would have liked for them to have more position options (wrapped around the neck or laying along the front) would be able to help feedback for Nautolans or Togrutas get a lot more done with them to the community's liking.
  18. I am in the same boat as this guy. ^ They said what now and when? Did I misread something somewhere or did you? For how closely I follow information I cannot imagine I missed something like that.
  19. In case any one missed this. ^ There are a lot of models in game (like the chancery robes for Sith Inquisitors) that I have never seen the orange equivalent of. Even some armorsets have no orange equivalent of certain pieces so you need to either settle for a blue or go for the purple Prototype varient from drops. Worse yet, Now 1 is something they are doing and we are supposed to wait and see on, while the other 3 have a few drawbacks imo, but they all involve one important element that is flawless. COMMUNITY INTERACTION! Remember those threads James Ohlen had for delivering feedback to him? Bring those back but make them so artists can put in their input and go in depth and have the community team post and contribute to the discussion and flow of ideas so the community can help bring up ideas and inspiration for the dev Art team.
  20. Maps, datacrons, all of this should be legacy wide. The devs should focus more on the teach to allowing legacy to be really integrated into our account for convenience options that are not just more credit/time sinks. I mean if I have to buy a perk so all my characters can share all of the galaxy's maps, I am going to die a little inside.
  21. This. I play a Lightning Sorcerer and the first thing I do with my class when I notice I am getting healed is watch my healer. When I see my Healer is getting hit on by a Sent/Mar I immediately work towards getting them down while my Healer keeps him healed. If the rest of our team learned to play, they will begin having one or two more guys help out to keep them off of us. If they didn't learn to play, they let the healer die if I cannot DPS the one, two, or three guys on him and then he goes down and then I go down and then we fail the warzone. I am by no means some amazing player, I would rank myself as average to maybe below average. However, I know my job in relationship to my healer and my tank and they (hopefully) know their job. As far as I am concerned, no class spec is 100% self-sufficient without another team member helping them.
  22. Vader: "Where is Padme? Is she alright? Is she safe?" Palpatine: "I am afraid in your anger you deleted her." Vader: "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"
