Adding my support. Thank you BW for adding those wonderfully useful items that could be used for any stronghold. I really appreciate the three years I've had with this game.

So it seems TFU really isn't canon no more...maybe.
Forgon replied to Wolfninjajedi's topic in STAR WARS Discussion
True or not, I'd be glad to see a lot of post Episode III EU retconned out of existence. Not a fan of Dark Empire, the Vong, or TFU and with Ep VII on the way, they'll probably be retconning things left and right anyway. -
Bug. Wayward Warrior Helmet does not unify or dye.
Forgon replied to Magnusheart's topic in Bug Reports
I have the same problem. I bought this, figuring it was a bug and would be fixed. I hope that's the case. -
(bolded what's the most eye-catching) Look at where the Rakata are now compared to the Sith; one's a practically extinct species while the Sith are at least surviving and having theirs ups and downs. What's bad sci-fi plot is stagnating the universe with only one group of villains returning again and again to defeat the heroes, ala Bowser style. Sith aren't the ultimate antithesis in Star Wars; the Dark Side is. The Rakata fill that role as Dark Side users in an era that predates the Sith Order.

I wouldn't be surprised if our characters met these crew members as part of a flashpoint mission and was assigned to them as a result.

Never before have I had such a thrilling experience with an event

Who would win in a fight? Darth Nox or the Jedi Sage?
Forgon replied to AmazingEggplant's topic in Spoilers
Darth Nox.... once the incredibly stealthed to the point of seeming forgotten and non-existent super weapons refuel. -
Removal of f2p restrictions on warzones. Is this still going to happen?
Forgon replied to cycao's topic in General Discussion
The op is talking about a comment made in a dev post, I believe, recently about removing the warzone restrictions for F2P. I am in complete agreement with that change being made. As I understood it, it was supposed to happen in that patch with the Arenas we had but I may be misremembering the post. -
Stop overpriceing your crap on the GTN!
Forgon replied to fdbgjfdhjgkjdhsg's topic in General Discussion
I don't see the issue here. Anyone willing to fork over large amounts of cash to pay for the CM to sell on the GTN is helping me be able to buy these items at reasonable prices, without me having to pay real money to buy the item. It can only be bought by people who can afford them so prices have to meet the demand and if too many start trying to cash in on the supply to buy a high demand, it will flood the market. Basic economics. Beyond actually buying those nifty cosmetic items, credits only are used to pay those QoL perks and all those credit sinks. It isn't like you need them for content. On top of that, credits are easy to come by. -
There have been hints in the game's code there may be new class stories in the future. If I had to guess, it would probably only come in a large expansion where adding a new planet or two as well as a new level cap after Makeb would apply.

The packs themselves are not gambling. You can make a gamble with them, but that's entirely on you. You are investing coins into a pack with random items. Now if you say, "I am buying this pack with hopes to get something I can use or sell," that's you gambling with the packs. The packs have their guarantees. There's no chance of getting nothing. Whatever value you or the MMO community puts on the item is another thing entirely. A lot of arguments I'm seeing on cartel packs=gambling are based on their own impositions on a product that is telling you exactly what you got with no chance of failure (beyond a glitch or bug happening). Btw, I don't buy cartel packs, although I used to buy trading card packs. That's not gambling and neither is this.

After the holidays and Galactic Starfighter is out for everyone, I'd like to see them at least begin teasing upcoming content, and not stuff they've already teased us (like a Quesh map huttball). Like the user above said, datamining has uncovered some interesting things so I'd like to see more of it.

An in-depth look at combat: General Grievous
Forgon replied to Beniboybling's topic in STAR WARS Discussion
I have to agree that saying he cheats when he's not shown to ever agree to any conditions is silly. By that logic, it's cheating to take advantage of a loophole as well. Grievous chose to engage in combat with Ventress by igniting his sabers and attacking; nothing more other than a gloat of his superiority. Assuming anything else for an oral contract is faulty on the offerer's part imo. Regardless, his actions did keep him alive in the war. If he wasn't such a braggart and Sidious wasn't pulling him back whenever the Seps were winning too much, I have doubts many of the Jedi he repeatedly faced would have survived. That's probably one of the things I have grown to like about his character: there's a lot of what he "could" have been and done but his flaws really crippled him. -
Well .. got my black/white dye module...
Forgon replied to scarlet_magpie's topic in General Discussion
The Bounty Rep vendors have some pretty sweet armor imo. You could preview how the color dye would look on that chest piece and go from there. -
Between Bane and Sideous, Sith Must of Revealed themselves
Forgon replied to Foxtrotmikelima's topic in Story and Lore
This. The op's main question has been answered already as far as lore is concerned. The only thing I think you could really argue is how believable that reasoning is. -
BW, when is the next orchestra recording session?
Forgon replied to Lord_Ravenhurst's topic in General Discussion
I actually like the Oricon music but maybe that's just me. -
Open leather to BW about the dwindling SWTOR Community

^ This. Lots of people I know that are helpful, along with a few idiots. It happens. -
What impact will EA´s Star Wars Battlefront have on SWTOR
Forgon replied to Lord_Ravenhurst's topic in General Discussion
Considering Battlefront will be made by the same developer as Battlefield (as already stated), I would be far more surprised if they didn't use their original game as a mesh then just experiment with adding "Star Wars" things on top of that. If they're controls are already solid, why change them? They could do more adding "dynamic" maps and trying to implement ground AND space combat in the same maps like the original BFIII devs did. I honestly don't see swtor being affected for more than a week, and even then the impact would be minimal imo. FPS fans will probably try it because of the "Star Wars" on the box, and if its good, they'll stay and the fans who play this game mostly because its Star Wars will probably come back here after they've gotten their fix. -
Player Housing: The next big Cartel Market bonanza opportunity
Forgon replied to Kurin's topic in General Discussion
I agree with the idea of adding player housing, but I disagree the the CM will not be able to survive without it. The amount of outfits they can release in packs is still huge. Just going by all the KotOR outfits there are, there is still plenty of room to add more imo. There are also more mounts that can be added and I wouldn't be surprised if more appearance kiosk or dyes got added in future packs. Since many packs have also been suspended, bringing these items back will probably cause another surge in the market. GTN prices will fall and more will want to buy these packs to sell. Then there's GS that will be adding more ship skins to the CM which will (hopefully) remain relatively out of the p2w zone. I'm sure there is more I am forgetting. I think the CM is going to be fine for at least another year or two. -
Bioware ruining and tunneling class stories
Forgon replied to ralphieceaser's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure about that story choice necessarily. Possibly just a vague reference to you being an imperial agent but I haven't done the story in full so I can't say. I had more issue with the choice being ripped from my hands and my characters just responding or saying things without me pressing the button. That was a rather jarring experience I'm not used to in BW games and it quite honestly felt weird. I honestly think their removal of class stories is only a detriment to their game. Makeb's fun for maybe every other expansion but losing the personal touch to a character's story makes a lot of the effort and accomplishment feel wasted imo. They should at least try to get these Makeb-esque storylines to feel more class specific, or have more unique NPCs or dialogue for each one before making us repeat the same content imo. -
People who are not subbed are getting 30 additional days on re-subbing.
Forgon replied to DKNS's topic in General Discussion
^ This. I honestly couldn't care less. A company giving incentives to add more revenue to their product when something new is being released? When was this an issue? -
Find a guild and share a fun experience. Play different class stories. Using perks on each character to boost XP gain for story missions helps limit repeating old planet story content as much. Look around the GTN (auction house) and find the right look you want to reach for your characters and their companions. Have fun. Get creative. Don't forget to play other games on the side.

Welcome back. You picked a good time. Double XP weekend and a new expansion for subscribers starting the 3rd.

HoloNet News Exclusive Interview: Baron Deathmark
Forgon replied to CourtneyWoods's topic in General Discussion
The Baron needs to learn his lesson. On the upside, I am pretty sure the interview is referencing Quesh as our next Huttball arena. I'm hoping we'll have more than just one map though. At least two more, and the ability to que separately in ranked for just Huttball. Let those Huttball leagues get going on the community level. Maybe support them for ranked Season 2. What? A guy can dream. -
I'm pretty sure that's just the same thing that happens with capes when previewing armor, the preview doesn't render the physics added (flat, stiff capes in preview but suddenly animated with physics when worn). I was under always under the impression they had hanging sleeves.
