  1. I don't know what is going on, but quite often in a wz, I'll hit Thundering Blast, the animation starts, but the ability never goes off and there is no cast bar. I'd say a good majority of the time it works as it should, but there are definitely enough times it has this odd behaviour which is annoying, because it's hard enough to get TB off sometimes as it is and any delay means your target will be out of range, LOS etc, if you try and cast it again. You guys seen anything like that?
  2. We are definitely squishier with 2.0 anyway, I don't think things got worse though with 2.0.1 though.
  3. Yeah, I've kept set bonus on heal set, and gone for the better stats for dps set and forgone the set bonus. I've nothing else you can still replace mods and enhancements, and 1 armouring.
  4. Well, first off sorcs and sages could have benefited from shroud/resilience. I am disappointed you didn't see fit to make this a baseline ability for consulars/inquisitors. I'm sorry but this is utter garbage. Whilst I can see how strong it was for sins/shadows, they often had the luxury of casting it from stealth. Madness sorcs are the kiting class. The only thing they have going for them is the ability to try and lock people down. One slip and they were often dead. And Now you give focus/rage spec things like Obliterate breaking roots, and cc immunity on bounty hunters/troopers baseline so now creeping terror is an even less reliable tool. And when we are still faced by knights/warriors, powertechs/vanguards and smugglers/agents INSTANT aoe mezzes, why do we have to suffer this joke, of having a TALENTED, not baseline instant mez removed? And the last thing was that even having decided to chance a whirlwind cast, which is riksy, if you're trying to kite, and way too susceptible to interrupt (because polarity shift doesn't help again things like pushes, stuns, mezzes, knockbacks), you can't even let it affect more than one target in pvp with the talent. And whilst you gave lethality ops dots not breaking their mez, how come you can't give it to madness sorcs? As others have mentioned parasitism is an utter joke. 25% light armour reduce, means we can't survive burst even with this nonsense. Parasitism would have to be buffed an awful lot for this to be a reasonable argument. And just WHY OH WHY don't sorcs have this? Assassins have an execute already....... Instead you give pointless alacrity talents that madness sorcs don't need. I think the last point has to do with the ramp up time and susceptibility to cleanse for madness sorcs. There was no dot protection talent either. Long dots, and ramp up work in PVE, not in PVP. And the sad thing is, that you won't reply and this will be ignore, just like none of you had the guts to comment in the sorc threads, but some jugg or mara qqs about anything, you were there straight away. Funny that.
  5. Because some people had both PVP and PVE sets. So now PVP set is basically an inferior PVE set collecting dust.
  6. So far as I've been levelling through Makeb, I've been sending things to my armourmech, cybertech, artifice and armstech, and as long as they had the requisite skill they could RE something for mats, or you get the usual message "insufficient skill". However, with synth items, I'm finding it's about 50/50 as to whether I can RE items at all. The arrow doesn't change for REing. No pop-over message, I am forced to sell the items, not needed. This seems like a bug particular to synth, because as noted before, the other crew skills all seem fine. Anyone else got a similar problem?
  7. Yep, it was a defining feature of madness and should be there.
  8. orly? guess you never played a madness sorc then.
  9. Exactly. Smashies are still hitting for 9k. And knights and warriors have actual proper defensive CDs sorcs can only dream about.
  10. Yes. Have been for ages, and remain so. I saw big hits of around 6k or so for my sorc. Smashies are hitting for 8-10k. It is unbelievable that Bioware didn't change anything.
  11. Well it only remains to thank Bioware for nerfing sorcs in pvp AGAIN and let's not forget, also refusing to respond to any feedback. Cheers!
  12. Yeah this has to be the biggest BS argument ever. I mean it's not like they have to make the abilities identical and still leave sorcs with instant whirlwind, because unlike their sin cousins they don't have a whole raft of fricken defensive cds to use. In fact if it worried them so much about assassins, they could have changed whirlwind to instant for sorc, and sorcs could then talent it to affect more people, while keeping the sin one as a cast reduce. It doesn't surprise me no dev ever comes in here and comments on these asinine changes because they know they'd get ripped to shreds.
  13. if you want a good ranged dps, roll a sniper. Sorc DPS is an underperformer on live, but will be competitive in PvE come 2.0. PVP is weak now, and will remain so.
  14. Don't get me wrong, PVE dps looks competitive, from what I and guildie have been parsing, which is great. They did buff damage which is definitely what we asked for. However, they got so much wrong or been ignored, it just feels like we've been hit with the nerf bat yet again. Firstly, the defensive cooldown, if you can call self-cc that, is nothing along the lines I think anyone wanted. I think shroud should be baseline for sorcs anyway. Why didn't we get the teleport? I think that would have been perfect, rather than for assassins that have stealth already? Madness - No instant whirlwind. When knights/warrios, powertech/vanguards and agents/smugglers have instant aoe mez, and we can't even have a single target instant mez its just feels like a bad joke. The fact dots have more chance to be resisted, means creeping terror isn't as reliable as a kiting tool. If they can make ravage/master strike uninteruptable, then force lightning in madness really ought to have it. The reason knights/warriors and powertechs/vanguards are good dps, is because their basic rotations have nothing to interrupt, it's all instant which keeps them mobile. If we're supposed to kite then we need stuff to kite with. I was asking for parasitism to be meaningful - it's still a joke. I still find it odd, that tanksins force lightning hits harder than a madness sorcs, and they get self heal to boot. And the last if not least insult is they didn't give the "execute" talent to madness sorcs, but gave it to our madness sin cousins. Why? It is just SO fricken annoying. Lightning tree - Kiting tools in the turret spec? Like lolwut? They saw people play the hybrid, or madness because you can do damage and kite. Now you can't kite in any spec, because you either can't spec into the tools or if you're kiting in lightning you're not doing damage. It's just plain stupid. Healing - not done much with this, but without the cc tools from the hybrid, and bubble stun gone, we are still very firmly second tier to operative/scoundrel healers in wzs, who also got a whole raft of amazing buffs. So whilst PVE is fine, the message from the devs really seems to be "don't PVP with a sorc." But these points have been brought up on PTS forum and here, and been ignored, which frankly is no surprise, because we're not lolsmashtards or a class that the devs actually play. Edit: yes one last thing, there was plenty of QQ from the melee about bubble stun, and probably even more about rage/focus. If gutting the bubble stun yet keeping smashtards still totally OP is their idea of balance, then I can't think what message the devs are giving us sorcs and sages other than a big %&*$ you.
  15. To what end? An expansion going live in a couple of weeks, pretty much means they aren't going to change much from PTS as it is now. The feedback has been given already and they ignored it. Honestly tired of fighting uphills battles or repeating the same points over and over, so yeah I've got my marauder and powertech for pvp now, and levelling a sniper. Leave sorc in PVE which is obviously where the devs want them. Sorry for the pessimism, but that's how I feel now.
  16. Well, they load you up with things that go boom*, and when they do, you do too. But not only that their railshot ignores quite a large proportion of armour, which for a sage isn't much to begin with. And lastly, unlike a sage's DoTs, the CGC dot from a pyro powertech actually hurts. *thermal detonator, incendiary missile and then they use rocket punch or spam flame burst to proc the free rail shot. Flame thrower btw, is more likely an advanced prototype powertech.
  17. Or when the side speeders had a cooldown to activate them.
  18. Have you kept Mako's gear up to date? I've levelled both a merc and powertech and pretty much used Mako through out, without any problems. Gault is indeed a sniper, and Torian is melee dps, who uses aim as his main stat. If you are level 43, you have most likely done Hoth, and Blizz is the ranged tank, again who uses aim. With dps Merc, since you have the capability to off heal, it doesn't really matter which companion you use. If you use dps like Gault or Torian, or tank like Blizz you would most likely have to off heal now and again. Or you use Mako and just dps and let her keep you alive.
  19. This is the myth that people like to perpetuate as fact. Sorcs were NEVER OP, people didn't know about things like interrupt, so it seems as if they were OP. But maybe you forgot the Merc heatseakers being OP, or scrappers and conceal ops, lolshotting you? Whatever dude, thanks to the ignorance and unfounded QQ sorcs have been nerfed hard for no good reason, and the real OP classes, like warriors and knights, vanguards/powertechs which have been on top for months on end now, get away without a nerf but they have to whinge a little about bubble stun and hey what a suprise it gets a nerf, but smash doesn't. Don't try and call foul here, coz the only foul committed has been AGAINST sorcs.
  20. Honestly, you have to suck it up for a bit until you get either war hero or campaign armourings, so you can ditch the shells and place them in adaptive armour from the cartel market, or find something a synthweaver or armourmech has crafted. That's not to say there aren't some good looking bits that drop from random loot, or treasure hunting either. But yeah, for the most part, I just look at the base outfits and go "really? that's what you think they should look like."
  21. Okay you want to start with that huh? For all I know you were carried, because your team saved your sorry backside. You say "best guilds", I have no more proof they weren't scrubs. But hey keep making up stories, but next time keep them to yourself. After all you want, "polarity shift" immune to interrupts and able to cast lightning strike while moving for the duration. Sooner wants, " I've said all along we could use one or two changes. We need an execute. We need a defensive cooldown. I'd like instant lift back." Which btw Sooner, is 3 changes, not 1 or 2, all the while proclaiming Sorcs are fine, yet wanting to label others as bad for wanting things, or pointing out problems with Sorcs at the moment. Starting to smell a troll and is that, why yes, I think it is, just a smack of hypocrisy thrown in for good measure. Yeah. Oh well, what can you do?
  22. The 'broken' hybrid powertech spec has way more burst. And sorcs are still going to be shut down in 2.0. They broke madness spec for no good reason, and lightning will never get a cast off. Immune to interrupt? - stun/mez
  23. Whilst I agree with the general sentiments expressed it should be noted, consulars/inquisitors have a 4s hard stun, and sins/shadows have the stealth mez too. How Bioware can not make awe and flashbang a channel is beyond me if they take away the instant whirlwind, but then sorcs have had a nerf to armour too, and force barrier talent, so does it really surprise you?
  24. Then give me one good reason why you learn sabre strike and thrash as a neophyte inquisitor, what other AC has TWO basic attacks nerfed to the point of redundancy upon picking their AC. And why does the class description mention "deadly sabre attacks", if you're not supposed to use them? Either way there's no good reason not to allow willpower on sabre attacks. End of.
