  1. Replying TO someone's comment is NOT the same as ACCUSING them of something. Again, dial back on the caffeine a notch.
  2. You'll find him (and the droid companion) under "Shipment 8: Alliance Packs"
  3. Interesting idea. Don't think OP realizes how slow that rate will be. Go to your achievements window and look under companions. There's an achievement specifically for the # of kills per companion, and it has taken me AGES to complete. This would be one of the very few instances F2P might have an advantage over subs. If you only have one or two characters, but log the same questing hours that I do, your points will be concentrated on a handful of companions. By contrast, my kill-influence points will be spread out over 23 characters. Can we amend your idea to scale to legacy level? As legacy level goes up, so does your influence per kill? At 50 each it would take 5,000 kills to reach max. Still more than high enough not to tank the market for companion gifts.
  4. It's cheaper than that if you pay 6 months at a time. $155.88 per year, but that's not really the point. The point is, how many new games do you buy a year to keep from getting bored? How much do each of them cost? Many games cost $50 or $60 and have a replay life of one or two months, at most. So, does $50 x 6= $300 per year sound like a bargain? And that's the low end of the estimate. You could go cheaper, sure. Buying older games on sale and budgeting how often you buy them, you can easily crank that number down to well below $155 a year. But the question is whether SWTOR can survive another year. I read somewhere earlier this year that they have a story outline ready for 2 or 3 years worth of updates. They've proven time and again they can bring this game back despite the countless nay-sayers and rage-quiters. The only thing that can stop them now is the time running out on their license agreement, or Disney somehow does a triple half-gainer back-flip with a twist face-plant with SW7 and kills the entire franchise the way Stargate: Universe murdered one of my all time favorite TV franchises. (Apologies for the non-Star Wars reference)
  5. Actually, several of them were in group to down SOA first on that server. These weren't scrubs, these were some of the best of the best. It's the gear. Gear matters. Gear has always mattered.
  6. If I had the ability to look at people's GTN sales, I would love to know how many of you blaming the OP for his carelessness have been selling green mats and other assorted everyday items for millions of credits each.
  7. Well I haven't been tracking the stats on PvP gear lately. In the past, when I had time to raid every week, we had one commando who showed up every time in his PvP gear and keeping him up was by far the hardest part of the operation. When we did the two tanks in EC, if he was on the other tank, with the sage, we were fine. If he was with me and my scoundrel (mostly single target heals) we were FAR more likely to wipe, because he pulled healing away from the tank. I remember at least one time the sages group still wiped just as we downed our tank and we finished off the last 2%. Keep your damn PvP gear in PvP, and stop pretending you're geared for ops!
  8. You ever try to heal a hard mode op when someone shows up in PvP gear? For PVE purposes, it should be considered a full tier below because the extra stats are dumped into Expertise, which is useless in an op. I'll wager you're the clown in PVP gear, standing in fire, QQing the healer isn't keeping up.
  9. There are trolls about, but not the OP...
  10. I partially agree with you here, but some folks seem to expect instant solutions to every problem. Over time, they do fix them though. They do seem to take their sweet time on some of them though. Seven months to finally merge servers? Most of my guild at that time had quit, including all but 2 or 3 who earned the distinction of server first Soa kill. (No, I didn't join the guild til a few months later)
  11. You're not even the OP, yet you take this as directed SPECIFICALLY AT YOU PERSONALLY? Seriously, dial back the caffeine a notch.
  12. Even the "free" players tend to pay SOMETHING along the way. A few dollars for Preferred status. Maybe a few more for CC's to unlock certain content. On the other end, not everyone in your "whale" category spends the same amount. I've purchased CC several times, but I wouldn't consider myself a whale. Dolphin maybe? Related to whales. Friendly. But a bit smaller. If you're gonna do it though, get the $99 one off Amazon. Cheapest price per Cartel Coin you can get, and a free pet.
  13. More importantly, SWTOR haters have been saying this non-stop since the beginning. This is not even a relevant point to the argument. The 2011 launch was a HUGE event just prior to Christmas. They opened so many servers to accommodate the gazillions of kids out of school on winter break who got the game as a Christmas gift. SWTOR's big mistake was not anticipating all those kids going back to school by mid-January. By that time, many had raced through all of the leveling content, bypassing the many many side-quests along the way, raced right through the operations that were available at the time, declared the game "beaten" and QUIT. It took until July to finally merge the servers. By then many more had moved on to other games out of frustration. Others abandoned their toons to reroll on more populated servers. What you also fail to realize is that those 19 servers are massive compared to the original servers. SWTOR never released the actual stats, but I've read estimates that put current server capacity at around 10 times those old servers. Actually there are: 8 class stories too many side quests and bonus series on various planets to count CZ-198 Oricon Makeb Prelude Story Arc Reven story arc on Rishii and Yavin 4 Ziost and finally the first 9 chapters of KOTFE I'll give you this one for free as I'm about as fond of PVP as a fat guy likes the gym. To this day, I don't understand why they can't figure out how to do cross-server PVP matches. It would, I believe, put PVE servers at a disadvantage against people who get ganked on a daily basis, but it SHOULD resolve the long que times. (probably) Granted. Another "freebie". And yet, how many are there now? Nine? And they retooled them, so the EV is once again a challenge for 65. The mechanics are the same, but you won't be seeing any Youtube videos of a shadow/sage two-man boss fight for a while. Mostly true. The H2 grind for crates will take a while to bore me. However, those bonus series are still waiting for us. A big part of the reason I bypassed them was the fact you actually have to go BACK to the planet several levels later. I NEVER remember to do that, so I've barely scratched the surface on those. Not sure about the "both" part. We're only through chapter 9 so far, and I recall several cut scene choices telling me "your actions will be remembered". I also disagree with "too short". Even space-barring every conversation took me several hours to get all the way through. Definitely room for improvement, but light-years away from the stumbling bumbling failure some believe. I will make a prediction. Be looking for a new op or 2 when chapters 10-? rolls out. Part of the reason they didn't include a new op (from what I've read) was that the same company also released SW: Battlefront at close to the same time, and they didn't want one game to undermine the other. By the time Chapter 10 rolls out, SW:BF will have time to settle and a new op here, won't take away players from that game.
  14. I'm gonna suggest Hyper crates. Wait till they're about to discontinue them and put them on sale. Buy at a discount. Now hold on to them for a few months. After a while, I've gotten 10 million+ per HC this way. Being discontinued, the longer your wait, the more you can charge.
  15. Don't fret. When they talk about who's got the best DPS stats, they're generally talking about just a few % points difference, depending on gear. Devs are constantly tweeking abilities to achieve balance. But then people complain when their "flavor of the week" toon is no longer posting the highest stats.
  16. Inventory Inventory Inventory! Get the legacy wide unlocks, rather than the character unlocks. Rocket boosts! Level 10 (+40) crystal. Best investment of CC ever! Unlock it in collections, free +40 crystals for life! Treek/HK Not as useful to unlock at lower levels as they once were pre-4.0, but still very helpful. Unlock Treek in collections and she's free for life. HK has to be unlocked on each toon. Sorry. Speeder training. Also not nearly as useful as they once were. For a time there was a bug that let you unlock speeder training 3 at level 1 through your legacy panel. They eventually "fixed" it and we were back to mucking about the starter planets like we were wearing lead Nikes. Species unlock Human. Grants +100 to presence. Makes your companions more awesome.
  17. I'm not even sure Legacy exp gets a boost from legacy perks or consumable xp boosts. If it does, you should still benefit. The tool-tip doesn't say that it boosts legacy exp so I would assume it doesn't. Those Legacy perks were put in way back when leveling was super-slow, and because they were per-toon and not legacy wide, I don't bother with them. The best way to improve legacy level is in operations. I reached max Legacy level around 7 months after launch because I had a weekly ops group. So get in on as many ops as you can.
  18. The Dulfy guide mentioned above can be found here: "Classic companion guide" for class companions Once you start KOTFE: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/21/swtor-alliance-specialists-and-companion-recruitment-guide/ And finally the post 4.0 guide, complete with all new companions and even the new cartel market companions available from the GTN. : http://dulfy.net/2015/10/21/swtor-fallen-empire-companion-influences-guide/ Hope that's not too much to take in. The last guide is likely your best bet. There were some adjustments to what certain class companions like, which you'll find in that one.
  19. Ditto! Not just a visual glitch, either. It defies game mechanics. Also her "Get Over Here!" move doesn't work right.
  20. Being essentially a new player. Green gear from the GTN is also a viable option to fill in the gaps when/if your crystals run low. With the new level adjustment system, and simplified heroics, I'm getting tons of gear from lower level planets that I just throw on the GTN for the default price. It's super cheap for the buyer, and earns me a bit more than simply vendor-trashing it. You can't really over-level a planet any longer, so feel free to explore every side quest and wring every last crystal that planet has to offer. I recommend not letting your gear fall more than 5 levels below current. Now that companion gear gives no stats, it's far cheaper to keep your own gear up to date.
  21. The side quests still have merit. I'm planning to go through a few of the planet story arc quest lines I missed. The rewards are minimal; GTN trash gear and a handful of common crystals. But the stories should be interesting.
  22. I know they removed some of the vendors there, and added others. Don't know which though. Good luck. I hope you find him.
  23. Could be a matter of tactics. Too many mobs in one shot is bad news. Under-gearing = bad news. Low affection = bad news. Some H2's, I've noticed, are higher level for the same planet and require more care, especially if managing 2+ elites or an elite + multiple strong mobs. You'd be surprised how much of a difference a couple levels can make. You can't always muscle through with the same tactics for every encounter. If all else fails, Heroic Moment is super awesome now. They give you a pop-up tool bar with your legacy H.M abilities on it. For the first time since launch, I actually find Heroic Moment useful!
  24. 1.Send in Bioanalasys toons 2. GTN 3. Profit! Been noticing it too. Sadly, the one place you want corpses to stick around for a minute, they don't. Heroic on Alderaan for Imperials, I forget the name, they despawn almost immediately unless they're strong/elite and held in place by the loot they contain. Once tagged though, they just pile up like everywhere else...
  25. Not a great work around, but it will do for now: Don't loot bodies until you've tagged them. Only works on ones that have loot to be looted, though. Meanwhile on DK, corpses pile up till the Sith Temple likes like an open mass grave...
