  1. My medic OP is a joke compared to my bodyguard BH. I can't imagine how the character could ever deserve a nerf.
  2. UI a million times over. That improves anything already in the game and anything they add later. All adding new content does is add more stuff to experience at the current inferior state.
  3. If I have a good co-op game why would I bother paying for a MMO (ie mediocre co-op game)? Having money tends to go hand-in-hand with not wasting it.
  4. A lot of people playing MMOs would prefer a 4 player co-op. For some of us, MMO is a compromise, not a desired result.
  5. Because it wouldn't benefit them if it isn't an improvement for one of their companions. If they are going to lie, then they can already lie and click need. It's no worse than what we already have, so it's not a valid reason not to add it.
  6. And all the clicking of buttons is normally finished in about a half second - hover, see red, click greed. Talking for 4 seconds only works if the whole thing wasn't made moot by all the clicking that took place 3 seconds ago.
  7. Despite your complete inability to read, since I addressed this very idea in the post you quoted. Go back and read it again and don't respond to me until you understand what I wrote the first time.
  8. Why is that hypocritical? WoW is crappy for copying a crappy system. SWTOR is crappy for copying a crappy system. SWTOR doesn't get forgiven because WoW copied it first.
  9. m8? Did that come after 4th edition? Very strange name change there to skip 3 whole editions.
  10. Compared to this? SWG Or, you know, not having trees - you could just have different abilities and buy them - EQ AA points were like that New and unique aren't required, but if you're going to copy something don't pick a crappy system to copy.
  11. It doesn't help solve the problem of *** holes. The way to solve that problem is to not group with them. This helps people who are not *** holes. It allows you to more easily give equipment to the companions who need it without having a discussion before every roll. Instead of deciding and typing in the half second before everyone else decides and clicks... "hey guys, my companion needs this so if you don't could all click pass so I can get it", all you have to do is click a button which communicates all that.
  12. Wow, so the stupid "part of the same family" thing is focused on even more - down to having to force characters who have nothing to do with one another into a family tree. Yet, we still know nothing of interest about what you get from the system. They are masters of talking without saying anything.
  13. Honda is not the first car company to make a vehicle with wheels and an engine, but if you make a car with the same body shape, same interior designs and same color choices as one of their cars, you would still be copying them. It's not copying a general idea that is a problem buy copying down to every little detail.
  14. Why would it be redundant? Sure, I may have 5 companions, but I may not plan on using them all. Or I may already have something better for them - the same reason I would skip rolling need on a piece that was inferior to what I was already wearing even if it was the correct type and stats. There are always cases where you really don't need the item in any way, but still wouldn't mind the money, so greed remains a valid option separate from a companion button.
  15. Good. Presumably that's the point of having it.
  16. Some powers are stances and have the little green bar across the bottom of the button. Left click those to enable the green bar and it will stay on. For others, it will have a little square area that is either blank or green. If highlighted green, it will use that ability when it is available. If blank, it will only use the ability if you press the button. Just expand the companion bar and make sure all your taunt abilities and AoE attacks have the green square. If it doesn't, you can right click the button to make it auto cast.
  17. People discovered that the reward for cooperation was greater than the reward for competition and responded appropriately. Now they are trying to shift the reward towards competition being more rewarding. Unless the penalty for death is really severe I don't see it working (since trading deaths will still be more effective than fighting fairly), but it's an attempt.
  18. I don't get it. It weighs nothing and I certainly haven't hit a limit. What would be gained by splitting it like that?
  19. In a relative sense, sure. Standing still gets you further forward than moving backwards does.
  20. I'm enjoying it to roughly the same level I enjoy any MMO in the first month I play. I enjoy it as much as I enjoyed AutoAssault and about as much as I enjoyed Shadowbane (minus the cool city building part). I enjoy it much more than my first month playing WoW, but that's damning with faint praise. And I enjoy it much less than my first month playing SWG, as that was an innovative and original game. The only problem with swtor is that all the small problems are more visible, as there is nothing new and interesting to draw attention. It is so absolutely mundane and ordinary and derivative that every little flaw stands out.
  21. Removing XP turns optional content into mandatory content, making the game even more linear than it already is. Just put the game on the same rails you have in space combat if that's what you want. The effect would be the same. The only way lowering XP would be vaguely acceptable is if there was twice as much content.
  22. Which was poor design and thankfully dead. mas·och·ism    [mas-uh-kiz-uhm, maz-] Show IPA noun gratification gained from pain, deprivation, degradation, etc., inflicted or imposed on oneself, either as a result of one's own actions or the actions of others, especially the tendency to seek this form of gratification.
  23. If someone would make better use of it on their character, then they would roll Need. That's why it is an option. If someone hits Need, then the fact that you hit Greed is meaningless. You are out of the running. You have not diminished them at all. If everybody hits greed then you have the same random chance of getting the item as anyone else. Excepting the very rare case when someone accidentally hit greed and you want to make sure they get it (by passing), why wouldn't you always use greed?
  24. Why should I care (as a customer) about the game's staying power. I want it to be fun now.
