  1. I tried to change the game from 60Hz to another setting and it completely locked up the game, had to do a restart of my rig with ctrl+alt+delete to get back in game again. Please look into this.

  4. I think this is beause players google swtor questions, and then click the first link and post, not even bothering to check when the OP was made. We have seen quite a few necros as of late, and it boggles the mind as to why no one checks the OP date, but ain't nobody got time for that is my best guess...
  5. Many of the long standing bugs in this game is due the game engine not being a standard engine, like say the Unreal engine is. If memory recalls, one dev way back said that the game is basically spaghetti code, since so many devs have left over the years, and no one new seems to know how to fix the bugs without the end result being cataclysmic. So BioWare really shot themselves in the foot with the heavily modified Hero engine they went with, which is certainly not helping the game at all...
  6. BioWare not interacting with us, the players, is sadly nothing new. They promise more communication with the player base, then fail to follow up on that, unless something goes horribly wrong with a patch, which also seems to happen more often as of late. We can but hope we get more transparency and better communication, but I doubt it with BW's track record...
  7. I highly doubt they would include that driod in a story if they intend to use it as a reward in GS 4. That would not make much sense, given that it's implied that the PC will get it at some point further on in the story.
  8. The launcher has a history of doing weird things to players. I had the same thing once, and lo and behold, the next day it worked again. Why this happens is a mystery to me, but I suspect a gremlin in the launcher code that rears it's ugly head every now and then for no apparent reason at all...

  10. I agree that Ashara is a strange one. She's clearly headstrong, just like another one we know so well, namely Anakin. Unlike Anakin however, she's not so reckless. She holds the Jedi ideals at heart, but that contrast a lot with gameplay, so that her story clashes with actual gameplay. Would she be better if we could turn her? Maybe, but I think the writers did not want another Jaesa, who goes utterly bonkers dark side. And it's not like we should be able to turn any Jedi or Sith we meet to the other side, as that would end up a bit boring.
  11. Then there must be something on the way from you to the server that is acting up. If your connection to the net is stable otherwise, it's not really a problem we or BioWare can help with. Might want to contact your ISP just in case they have any problems. In my experience, these kind of problems usually resolve themselves after a few days, might not be want you wanted to hear I know.
  12. Not sure I agree on QT costing credits, seems to punish new players, or those that don't have much. And 5000 credits seems a tad OTT, so I hope that will be adjusted a bit down. Increased repair costs is in the same vein as above. I hope you guys don't over do that, as it's very expensive as is with purple and gold equipment.

  14. Not really sure, but I do have a couple of kits for some of my older characters. Never really used them for anything. You used to get these kits from some sort of mission I think, but I can't remember offhand what those missions were, or if they were from completing level 50, or something completely different. Sorry I can't be of more help here.
  15. Do you even listen to yourself here? Most randoms do not know PvP very well, and gets stomped by premades that know PvP mechanics inside and out, and often have a well balanced team. I'm on the casual side, meaning I don't PvP much, but I get the basics. Knowing the basics and actually being good is a different matter. I know when to use my stun breaker, but that does not help much when I just end up stun locked after using it, again and again. You are in essence blaming the randoms for not knowing "how the game works", when most are either new or are just learning the ropes, and end up against premades, and that's not a nice experience at all, which makes them quit PvP before they can learn. Blaming the randoms for poor play is unsporting, and easy to do when yout sit in a premade. You may think it's boring to play against randoms, but this is what happens when BW did away with ranked, and having a bad matchmaker on top of that does not help the case either.
  16. Yeah, this is a long standing bug, and an annoying one at that. For me it usually happens a lot on fleet, and it seems completely random. Sometimes it's there for some characters, only to be gone later on in the same session. A new character I made a few days ago still has an empty fleet map, with no markers. I tried the filter, checked an un-checked the options for vendors, and still nothing. No other filter options does anything either for the new character, but once I leave fleet, it mostly works as it should. I find this bug to be a strange one, as it's so random, with no clear pattern.
  17. This is very true. They could easily used their Twitch stream to help during the worst of Covid, but for some reason they did not. That said, BioWare has never really been good at the whole communications thing, which leaves the player base mostly in the dark, which again leads to speculation about the few posts that do contain some info about what's coming our way. @JackieKo has done better in that regard, but we hardly ever hear from the top guy, @KeithKanneg any more than a few posts a year. More from him on the state of the game and what might be coming our way, would be a good thing I think.

  20. True, SWTOR uses a very heavily modified version of the Hero engine, wich has caused a lot of bugs, and I'm sure headaches for the dev team. It's probably a lot harder to get the engine to work well(ish) on all systems, unlike other games which might use an engine like the Unreal engine, which is a lot more dev and user friendly. I've seen my share of weird things in this game due to the engine being wonky, or not agreeing with certain pc builds. A rig I had well before my current one did not agree with shadows being turned on at all. If I turned the shadows on, I got a slide show, but with it off , and some other settings tweaked a bit down, it ran mostly well, but some planets was not good on performance, but bearable.

  22. I don't think you will get any answers, as this is about business strategies, and they keep that secret. They used to give roadmaps, but those have not been given to us in a long time, since people took what was in them as something that would come out, and complained when it didn't. About the only thing we know that's coming, is the move to cloud based servers, and that 64-bit is on the way. No firm date given on that yet.
  23. I think it's assumed that Tanno Vik was lost when Arcann attacked Asylum. Then again, we never saw any body, and people have this weird thing about coming back when they are thought dead. I mean just look at Malgus, we thought he was dead after False Emperor FP, and he came back...
