  1. Doc is one of those companions that you either love or hate. He is a womanizer, no doubts there. He is also a real self centered guy who clearly thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. Off all the companions, Doc is the one I would like to space the most, since after the Balmorra section of the story, he serves no purpose to the PC. Well, he did when when he was the only healer the JK had in early game, but now any comp serves whatever purpose you want them to, so he's redundant. Why we were forced to take him with us was a bad move by BW in the first place. Kira, Sourge, Rusk and T-7 makes a lot of sense story wise, but Doc makes very little sense to have as a companion. Heck, someone like Rusk would know basic first aid, maybe more as a trained soldier, so he could easily have served both as a soldier and a medic of sorts. I mean, just look at Elara, she's a combat medic, and a fine soldier on top of that, but Doc is not a trained soldier, he's just that, a doctor.
  2. I don't see a lol at the end of your post, but anyhow. Yes, they are most likely covered by the EULA and TOS here, but what I wrote above is still true, never mind going up against a giant like EA, which has lots of lawyers, so a class action woulden't even get off the launch pad so to speak, but I digress...
  3. Good luck with that. The speeder may be bugged, but it still works as a speeder. That there are bugs with it is sad, but a bugged item won't get you anywhere if you were to attempt an actual lawsuit. You would have to wait for BS to fix it first, and if they are unable to fix it, then you might have a case, but I think some sort of compensation would be offered before that happens.
  4. I saw that thread. I remember another online game I played where they thought that $30 = 30€ wich wasen't even remotely true and it will never be. That said, the company that makes that game got it sorted eventually, so now that game uses some sort of conversion program, which means you get the correct ammount charged for in game and website purchases. Maybe something similar happened here, but somehow I doubt we will get an answer to that...
  5. It baffels the mind that something like this was not tested properly before release. Wait, who am I kidding here? Bugs are a feature around these parts, am I right? 🤔 This is very bad for image, when you release a pack like this, and the speeder bonus to buy said pack comes bugged right out of the gate. New players may want to get this, and it gives a bad experience, and they may not buy more game time, or CM items from that bad experience.
  6. True. And then you have some cutscenes that are pretty dark after 7.0 I think it was. Something did change with how the lighting is handeled after 7.0, so that could be why we get plastic looking faces in some cutscenes. I noticed you can get a weird effect if you have the Revan holostatue, or any other holostatue out before starting a cutscene and forgetting to remove it before the cutscene, that the lighting from the holostatue comes into play as it lends a blue tinge to the cutscene, so I have to wonder if blue light sources are somehow leaking into cutscenes where they are not supposed to.
  7. The game has some weird problems with cutscenes. Shadows can be really janky, and as you mentioned, faces can look really weird due how the lighting source are handeled. In some cutscenes in KotFE and ET faces looks almost metallic. I think this is due to where the lighting source is placed, Base game is better off, but can sometimes be weird due how close the camera is to the player character. Some cutscenes have extreme close up shots that really makes it look stupid. I have no idea why they went with that design choice as far as custscenes go, as later cutscenes is far better in that regard, and make it seem more cinematic.
  8. The lightsabers do have a little something on them looking like a grip or something to protect the user close to the emitter, and the pants does look a bit different, as in more "stripes". The differences are there, but this is very close to how it looks in the show indeed. The Mandalorian Nomad set is also pretty close to Din's armor, with a few changes, like the cape is missing. The Payday blaster pistols are also very close, they added the scopes and a light to make them as close as they could without it being a carbon copy. All in all, it's close enough, and both sets do the job nicely.
  9. Yup, just got the same bug in the same mission with Lord Praven on Tatooine. Made for an... interesting viewing experience. Would not surprise me at all if this bug is also present when you meet Lord Praven again later on... **Edit: Also sent a bug report in game.**
  10. The devs keeps changing things just for the reason of change. Why replace a system that worked well with a system that's much worse I have no idea. The old saying of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" comes to mind here.
  11. Could be the the download server is slammed with too many trying to download at once. This has happened before a few times, and usually resolve itself when more have finished their download. It sucks having to wait, but that might be the best option. Happened to me once or twice.
  12. I agree with you there. I've been with this game for a long time now, and would love for it to continue, but right now the future is clouded indeed. Let's just hope there is no evil Sith Lord masterminding this, as we know how that went.
  13. I guess you're right, but a little hello from the Broadsword boss would have been nice atleast. Just a bit surprised we've heard nothing so far, but it is what it is I guess. I just don't know what to think about the games future anymore, so any info is better than no info, but I digress...
  14. Well, so far we have not heard anything from the boss at Broadsword, not even a little hello to introduce themselves. I just guess some sort of confirmation that development will continue, and maybe what Broadsword can do as far as development goes. I had some hopes that with a new dev house things might change as far as communication goes, and some sort of message from Broadsword might help alleviate some questions the players might have about the games future and direction goes...
  15. We don't know that yet. Just because Broadsword is known for maintaing MMO's, it does not mean that will happen to SWTOR. We are not privy to what the contract between BioWare, EA and Broadsword is, and what it means for the future of the game. This is why players have been asking for a statement from Broadsword themselves, and until that day comes all we have is pure speculation, which does not serve any one well.
  16. Something similar happens sometimes after a patch and you have sold something on the GTN. Then it will say "Somone bought your <whatever you're selling> for 500 credits". I never really understand why that happens, unless they also did a database reset at the same time. It just seems like a weird thing to happen imo.
  17. On that we can agree. I know it can't be easy being developers making a change you think will be good for the game, and it ends up being a major dumpster fire. Been there done that with another online game, not an MMO, but there you go, where some dev changes has been utter trash that should never have been thought of.
  18. Now listen here, buddy. I never said that I or any other player want to decide what gets developed or not. Just that we want some sort of way to communicate with the devs on certain matters. Like maybe the devs could say: "Hey, we want to run this by you guys before we make any drastic changes, here is what we have planned for class changes: Do you like it? Yes? No? If not what do you think can be changed whithin reason...." Or something like that. Not everything can be run by the players, that much I understand. An MMO is a huge beast afterall, but something like I wrote above might be a good way to garner some goodwill. Not saying they should do this all the time, but rather every now and again to understand how the players might go about a change, and perhaps take it into consideration...
  19. I did say that some more info in general about where the game is headed would be good, but that I do understand that they can't talk about upcoming story for the game. There's no denying that the devs are not known to communicate more than they do, which is not much, and this has been the case for years. What is wanted from the playerbase is some discussions about certain changes, and why the devs feel that said changes are needed. Then allow us, the players to maybe have some input into this, as we might see things differently than the devs do. That way the playerbase would feel that they had some input, and that changes might be made given the player input.
  20. Can't say that I'm shocked at the player decline. Some of the changes the devs have made over the years have been... questionable to say the least. Some changes like being able to play the story lines with a new spec was a good one, but then they had to muck about with the skill trees, and in some cases took the pruning a bit too far in the wrong direction. But one of the main things for me is the constant lack of communication from the devs. If the Force is with us, we get some info, but usually it's not. They need to learn that communication and transparency is extremely important for the player base to start trusting them again. One example is when @KeithKanneg talked about a great vision for the game, but then fails to follow through with telling us a bit more in detail about that vision. We do not need to know about the story lines, I get that they want to keep that under wraps, but some general info would be great. Not to mention what they promised would be a great 10 year anniversary celebration, and that turned out to be a lot of hot air, with very little to show for it, which left many long term players dissapointed, wanting for more.
  21. I agree that the missions that say they will offer great riches often end up being rather underwhelming. Yes smuggler story, I'm looking at you. Some offer what is supposed to be prototype weapons or armor, that again ends up being junk for the most part. It would be much better if it actually was prototype weapons/armor with some unique effect/look and being moddable, maybe even bound to legacy, with no lvl requirements. That would make it much more useable, and a much better reward.
  22. I would try to PM @JackieKo or @EricMusco for help. There seems to be a CSR that keeps repeating themselves, and keep requesting the DXDiag files, which seems strange, as I would have thought that such files are connected to the case number. Other than that, I have no clue as how to help any further... Good luck.
  23. I think I saw a YT vid once from another MMO developer, and they said that stories are usually written 6mos to 1 year ahead of time, which makes sense as they have to have head time to develop and code with the script in mind, not to mention get the VO for this game ahead of time, so I would have to think that they have story content penned out for a little while longer. How far ahead they have content for is anyones guess, and I doubt they will tell us.
  24. And what about those that don't PvP? No way to get said crystal. I think an inspired looking Dark Saber may work providing it does not look to similar to the actual Dark Saber. Heck we have the Mandalorian Nomad armor wich is basically Din Djarin's armor sans a few details like the cape and bandolier and gloves, but it is as they say close enough to get the job done without it being a carbon copy. The only thing then is them releasing a dark looking kyber crystal, and we would be good to go.
  25. The way the game calculates gear damage is a bit wonky. An item can say 100% even if you haven't repaired it for a long time. I think it's bugged somehow, like it shows 100%, when it is at 80% for example. The game has had visual bugs like this before, and some have been fixed, but others still remain. When the game started, it did show item decay, but at some point the item decay stopped working as intended.
