  1. Was lazy that day, no other reason. Yeah, I know it's only 2 clicks, but as I said, wanted to test it...
  2. The servers are now run on AWS (Amazon Web Services). Also, disruptions can and do happen at any given time for a plethora of reasons. The hurricane propbably had something to do with that, and how one gets routed in something like that. Also, it can be a problem with one of the many ISP's that your connection goes through, or it could be the servers themselves, or even the AWS data center. Now if it's with AWS, then it's on Amazon to fix that, but if it's between a player and the servers, all you can do is wait and see, but if nothing improves, call your ISP and see if they have trouble in your area. Broadsword can't do much really except making sure the servers are up to spec, and nothing is wrong with the game netcode.
  3. It's very annoying getting knocked off your ride. Even more so when it's NPC's with vibroswords. How can they they hit you zooming by hard enough to knock you off your ride? Blasters I can to some extent understand, same with Force users, but guys with melee weapons? Or wildlife? Yeah, it used to be better, but it did change at some point, but I can't remember when...
  4. That's because the training sabers are vibroblades of some sort. Would it make more sense if they were actual sticks instead? Not really. What would make more sense thou is an actual training lightsaber. We do see them when Obi-Wan is looking for Kamino. Yoda is training some young Jedi, and they have what I can only assume is training sabers. So why we have vibroblades is a good question, as it's very different to use than a lightsaber.
  5. I have to wonder about the ROI in making the game compatible with Mac. Sure there's been the odd thread about wanting it, but from what I know from other games, it's not a huge percentage of gamers who use a Mac for gaming. Fact is, most will have a PC for gaming and the Mac for more work related things that the Mac is best suited for. I one read an article in a PC magazine (yes an acutal magazine, not online version), where a developer did this, and said they regretted it, as it was a huge money sink and a lot of dev time that could have been used to polish the game and make expansions, but since the publisher wanted a Mac version, they did so, and no expansions came, since the budget was blown on the Mac port. I really hope this is not the case here, and that this a way to learn how to port. I think that is why they are doing it, and maybe we'll see ports to PS 6 and other consoles.
  6. Oh, I know that, just wanted to try it out to see if it made any tangible difference in regular play outside of PvP, and it made very little difference. And in this case I wanted the Amban rifle on a Mando char, and could not really be bothered to use the outfitter.
  7. I mean there is a damage difference, but I would not say it's a huge gap by any means. I had one char use a blaster rifle through the story finishing with Ziost, and he did just fine. Only used an actual sniper when doing FP's, as it's more noticable there.
  8. See this is where I am of two minds. HS can be done very quickly by just running to the first boss and ignore the enemy, and go from there as normal, and it's no doubt far faster than fighting the mobs. On the other hand, new and inexperienced FP players might want to do that to get kills, and by doing that get more xp, which is understandable. What can be annoying with new players is that they want to see the cutscenes or read stuff, which takes a long time in some FP's. BT and Esseles in particular is often brought up, and it's true, they are long enough as is without the added time cutscenes take. There's no good way to do both, and so experienced players want to get it done fast, but not all new players want that. so basically a no win scenario.
  9. The game is certainly not good for platforming. It's very hard to get jumps right, and when you do, you have a big chance of just sliding of whatever you tried to jump to. The datacron on Makeb is a prime example of how bad the game is for platforming. Some of the jumps there are so hard to do, and it's very easy to misjudge jumps and fall to your demise several times. Think it took me a couple of hours to get it in the end, and many many deaths due to how easy it is to slide of a beam or terrain, and have to start all over again. Some parts of the game are "better" for platforming, but there's not many places that are. I think some are expecting this game to be like the Super Mario games, but those games are made with platforming in mind, and SWTOR is not. And not everyone is good at platforming at all.
  10. This could either be old graphics drivers or possibly corrupted, so good idea to get the newest ones for you card type. Other thing I can think of is that your graphics card might be dying. An older one of mine did this a lot towards the end of it's life. If it works fine with other games, then I have no idea.
  11. Well, they could also have gone down the route of instant unlock when buying certain unlocks like this, but they didn't do that either. Why they didn't make it account wide is a very odd way of doing things, as it would avoid the situation OP describes. Been there myself a few times. Also very annoying when trying to unlock a weapon or armor set account wide, but all it says that you have this item unlocked on another character, but not which one actually has it. This is very similar to what the OP are saying, and you have to go through all characters to find who has it, which is extremely time consuming. A QOL update to both would be most welcome. How about looking into it @JackieKo @EricMusco @KeithKanneg ?
  12. Yeah, I see some micro stutters since 7.5 on the DM server. Was not like that with 7.0, so something has changed. Could be AWS data centers having some trouble, or something in the patch did it. And since we can't ping the AWS servers, we can't be sure where the problem lies between us and the servers. The game is playable, and the micro stutters seem to be random, but when they do happen it's very noticeable, not to mention annoying. Did a FP the other day, and the ones in there with me said they had micro stutters since 7.1, but not before. So something has happened, but as to what the cause is, who knows.
  13. Yeah, they are really taking the cake with all the grind with the seasons. To get the good stuff, you have to reach pretty high up close to 100. Just look at the new white loth cat kitten. It's only given at lvl 97 or something, and people have been asking for loth cats, and this is how they give them out? Behind a massive grind? Give me a direct CM sale instead. Would sell like hotcakes. No thanks. I got burned out at season 1, which imo was the best, since the objectives was easy to do, and not so grindy. Felt more relaxed, as you could play story missions, and still get completion if you had missions at the right place. They also add to the problem with running PvP season at the same time. New story only twice a year is bad. Yes, we all know the team is small, and so is the budget, but something every now and then, even if short like the date nights missions would be a welcomed thing. I still play, but I pace myself, and have off days, maybe even an off week. What do I do? Youtube for the most part, as there's something new to find every day. May look into SW Outlaws, but not until they fix bugs and whatnot.
  14. Regarding undoing the pruning. That will be difficult at this point, since so much has happened since then. It will be very difficult I imagine, and getting it right would be very hard. Also knowing the spaghetti code of this game, even if it were possible, would bring with it a host of bugs. It would also be very expensive, and that is the main point really. I don't think it will happen, and would it really make many players return? Sure some would, but the net loss of undoing the pruning would not be worth a few players returning at this point. It would be better to have a rethink of when players are given new abilities and attacks, and that I think is more likely to happen rather than risking untold bugs and using money and dev time on it.
  15. Indeed. It takes time to recover from something like a stroke. Good thing he's back doing voice work again, even if it sounds slightly off. Hope Timothy will recover fully.
