  1. I agree. Hoth has some nice vistas, but it takes ages to get where you're going. And the heat vent ravine part is tricky, since the map does not do a good job at all to tell you if you need to go down or if it's on the surface. If the map were isometric like in many rts games, it would make things a lot easier. And don't get me started on Belsavis or Corellia. Those planets gets me turned around so many times. Corellia is the worst offender here. Oh, you want to go around the block?? Well, take four left turns go through this tunnel, then more turns, realize you're not going that way either, since the street is blocked, go back a few streets, take the same tunnel you just came out of, then take a few more turns to get to another tunnel, then hang a right and you're finally there. Corellia is what I call questionable map design to say the least. Who came up with the map design, and who said yes, that's fine??
  2. An option or toggle for mission difficulty would be a good thing as long as the devs don't go crazy with the difficulty levels. I would not want it to be like the highest difficulty level they have in Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor wich is very punishing and frustrating.
  3. One huge issue with fan based translation is this. How do you prevent some one from being a massive troll, and the translations will not be what is actually said. Could even be swear words, and then you would need a vetting process and beta readers to make sure everything is ok. So many things that could go very wrong very fast. The undertaking for this game would be very resource intensive, and I doubt it would even get off the ground. Then you have the legal side of things with Disney, Lucasfilm and so on. And when lawyers get involved, things get ugly and take very very long time, unless they just say straight up no. Would they reach a bigger audience? Yes, but at some point you'd need professional translators to go over everything, and that would be very expensive, even for just one language.
  4. I've not seen too many bad names in game, but one was really bad and so obvious. Let's just say WW II and leave it at that. Yes that player really named the char after that horrible man. Action was so swift at the time that he was in the middle of some racial slur on gen chat, and suddenly he was gone. Never saw that guy again, so I guess that was taken care of very fast. This was many years ago tho, so things may be different now, with fewer CSR's around to handle it. It does suck for the OP that nothing is seemingly done, and just leaving the tickets open is bad. But it could be that it's under investigation, and that's the reson the tickets are open, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, I hope this person/guild is sanctioned swiftly.
  5. What you're seeing is the developers trying to combat the insane inflation in the game. It's a pretty new thing that you have to pay tax when mailing stuff to some one else that's not in your own legacy. I think the game calculates the price on player to player trade by taking the prices it sees the item go for on the GTN, and then calculates the tax from that somehow. Is this unfair? Yes, it is. I've seen some pretty insane prices from gen chat on fleet from p2p trades. The devs didn't get this right. Some tax on player trade is good, but not the way they went about it.
  6. Just how many social media apps do we need? It's a jungle out there, enough to make your head spin. And yeah, Threads not launching in the EU as of yet, it's pretty telling that personal info is not well enough protected, and that's a huge no go for me.
  7. Yeah, the heavily modified Hero engine this game uses is the major problem. BioWare went down the wrong road when choosing a game engine, and then making their own version of it, so that you can't easily modify it, unlike the UE engine. Some improvements has been made, and Ruhnuk does look pretty good, and some of the new CM armors like the Mandalorian Nomad one looks really good. But you can only go so far with the current engine, and that's a major headache I would bet for the developers. Some one mentioned how the starter planets looks pretty bad in places, and you really notice it on Tython. The cliffs and mountains there looks really low resolution, and could do with some TLC. Same with the other starter planets. First impressions is important and all that jazz.
  8. Are you wired or on wifi? The reason I'm asking is that it could be your laptop's wifi module is potentially failing. Also not seen any one else complaining about server connection problems here on the forums as of late, so it seems the problem(s) is on your side somehow, but it's hard to know exactly what is going on here. Hope some one with a tad more knowledge can help you out. Might also be a good idea to try Answers HQ
  9. Ah, that one. Took me some time to figure it out. I did that one, but could not remember it. Just goes to show how bland those Voss missions are in the new area.
  10. The first part of the story with Malgus and the nice litle tidbit on Darth Nul's background was nice, and well done. Getting to the new story part on Voss... Apart from talking Sana-Rae and Arcann, the rest was boring to say the least. Do all those boring chores to get to talk to the three, who was not very helpful. We have to stop Darth Malgus or something something dark side will happen. Oh, and you can't kill him either because reasons. Yeah, no kidding, thanks for nothing I guess. Really hope the next update will be more substantial story wise, as it's moving at glacial speed right now.
  11. What are you talking about here? Don't remember anything like that in-game, so an explanation as to where this can be found would be nice.
  12. Yup, noticed this. Almost posted something for a much lower price than I intended. Having to press a number twice before it takes is certainly not intended I hope.
  13. I agree. The questions that @FlameYOL have is very important for the player base to get answered . I really hope that @KeithKanneg or @EricMusco can answer us, and update us when they have the ability to do so. The sooner the better for all of us.
  14. For now, I think the best approach is wait and see what happens, if anything. We don't know much yet, except for that IGN post. I tend to take news like that with a pinch of salt, since things are not always what they seem to be. Until we know more, we can only speculate, and with speculation there can often be wrong things said that some take as the truth.
  15. The Consular story is wieved as a bit boring compared to the action filled Knight story. It's not a bad story per se, but it certainly drags in places, particularly the Coruscant part. It feels like the pacing is of somehow, and that means that people find it boring, because the story takes long before it gets anywhere. Later on the story is ok-ish, but it still feels slower paced than most of the other class stories. Another story that is ok, is the Smuggler, but they mostly do their own thing, and isen't really connected to the main story line of Imp vs Rep that much. Different but not bad, so different can work.
  16. Oh yeah, the walker missions and the crashing Vaylin's party one are bad. I dread the party one, as it's a horribly designed map, and the so called "help" they give you is all but useless, so you run around in circles trying to figure out where to go next. A chapter skip would be a most welcome QOL in the Knights expansion, but I doubt we will get something like that...
  17. Well written post, you would get my vote. What you said about communication is so true. It's mind boggeling that we have so little communication, except the recent posts from the dev guy about the changes to the GTN and so on. Those posts are what we need BioWare. You guys post about your grand vision for the game, but then fail to even give us some small view as to what that vision is. I understand you can't really talk about story, but atleast give us something. There's been so many times where you promise more and better communication, and then you go into silent running mode for a very long time. Why does this keep happening? Is it the case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing? Dead horse i know, but my points are valid...
  18. They are still building back up from what we know from the story so far, however, nothing has been said in quite some time. The last we heard for sure was after we defeated Valkorion/Vitiate/Tenebrae for good. It was said that they are in the process of healing and rebuilding the Jedi order, but after that, nothing has been said afaik...
  19. It's a lack of funding and developers as I understand it. Also keep in mind that most of the original devs are long gone, meaning that new devs will have a hard time understanding the spaghetti code of years gone by. Trying to fix a bug that has been with the game since emperor knows when are more likely to cause more harm than good, and we don't want that. A patch that's only a bug bash would be good, but then you get complainers that want more content, not bug fixes, and on and on it goes. It's almost damned if they do, and damned if they don't at this point. It's all a balancing act, and not one I would like to make.
  20. Yup, really slow as of late. Takes ~10-15 second to load into general discussion, and the same when returning to GD from a thread, but loading a thread is not bad. Hope this can be fixed sharpish, as a slow forum is bad, m'kay?
  21. Not all off it is that bad. Rishi is but one example, and Mek-Sha another, thou in the latters case it's because the maps are not that big, so there is a limit as to how many enemy NPC's you can have there. But generally I agree with you.
  22. Ruhnuk is a tad confusing to get around, and it's very easy to get turned around in all the tunnels. One of my biggest gripes however, is the mob density in said tunnels. There. Are. So. Many. Npc's are all over the place that getting somewhere is taking a lot longer than it should. And more silver and gold mobs than you can shake a lightsaber at. It should really be toned down a bit. Same problem are also present on Manaan daily area, and there the npc's cross heal each other which makes it even more tedious.
  23. Yeah, the helmet seems to wide/big. Please shrink the size down a tad, as it clips with the bandolier and chest piece, which is very noticeable in cutscenes. Otherwise, the armor looks really nice, so good job there art team.
  24. Normally a blaster would no nothing to a force entity/ghost. The only reason they have effect is because of gameplay mechanics so every spec can hurt it or kill it. Otherwise only the Force users classes would be able to do anything to them, wich would make the tech classes useless against them.
  25. This mission won't show up for me. Yes, I have done the Findsman mission, and yes I have comleted Chapter 10. Infact I just completed Eternal Throne the other day, but for whatever reason, the Little Boss mission is not showing up under Alliance alerts, same goes for Skadge mission. I did complete the Mako mission, so that one worked as advertised. Do I have to complete all of Hylo's Alrets first? Or am I missing something?
