  1. This is the wrong forum for this. This forum is for discussion of the wider star wars universe, not SWTOR I suggest you repost this over in General Discussion (much higher traffic, you'll get better help)
  2. WTFast isn't about the quality of the infrastructure in the country of origin. If the connectivity is too bad to make it it to WTFast's servers properly, it's not going to do any good at all. First, second or third world really doesn't have anything to do with this discussion. The primary benefit of WTFast is it reroute traffic around bad links in international areas as well as across congested regions with poor infrastructure like the US. It doesn't matter if you live in the Philippines or Hawaii, if your route to the server goes through a bad hop in California, your still going to feel the pain. This is why I say WTFast shouldn't be required. Governments and ISPs should be properly upgrading network infrastructure to meet the ever increasing demand of the modern world. The fact that they aren't (US ISPs probably being the worst offenders here...) is why WTFast exists
  3. You're replying to a comment from 2020, odds on they are long gone WTFast works mostly because the US network infrastructure is so bad. With so many servers located there, any significant distance crossing it is just asking for trouble, especially from APAC, which also has to cross a rather big ocean. WTFast really shouldn't be needed... operative word being shouldn't
  4. I mean... everything is pretty much a plot device to advance the story. That's kinda the nature of fiction The point is there are plenty of in universe explanations for what happened there. If those explanations are insufficient for you, then all I can say is sorry to hear that. Always unfortunate to have immersion breaking moments.
  5. Ahsoka takes exception to this. She was using reverse grip while Galen/Starkiller was still in diapers.
  6. Probably the most thorough explanation of hyperspace comes from the old X-Wing books, but there are many other examples as well. While it was possible to do a blind hyperspace jump, and out of desperation some pilots attempted it (ex. in old Corellian Trilogy where Lt. Kalenda (sp?) made a short blind jump to escape and ambush, which worked but resulted in severe damage to her ship (above and beyond what it had already received), but it was extremely dangerous As noted above, it is explicitly stated in many cases that there is a significant delay to do these calculations and power up the hyperdrive Rebels is absolutely full of harrowing escapes of the Ghost being pummeled while they make the calculations to jump to hyperspace. IIRC TCW has quite a few examples of this as well.
  7. So don't start the mission in the first place? I mean, of all the things to complain about...
  8. The (non Steam) launcher only checks once after sign in Steam will update based on whatever your settings are (so it may or may not update right away). Though with Steam if you got a good internet connection it doesn't matter as much, as even large patches download really fast. If you really want to go the full mile without getting steam, you can automate sign in to start the download at a scheduled time (if you use a SK on you computer, you can leave it refreshing with the mouse cursor over the sign in button. Then trigger a paste and click) ...or just get the steam version.
  9. See the sticky at the top of the forum for latest on this https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1001140
  10. Highly unlikely they'd remove it, since I think it's a pretty good earner for them (they've certainly done good on it from me) Whether it gets upgraded or not is anyone's guess. My guess is probably not initially but maybe eventually.
  11. Ryzen 5800X, win 10, Steam. No problem with launcher Hard for them to roll back, as all that would do is re-break it for Alder Lake users
  12. This doesn't actually make much sense (and I don't say this to sound harsh) First of all, the design for the weapons in outfitter would have been done months ago Second, this implementation would be highly specific to SWTOR. To try and take technical implementations like that and port it over would be the software version of "square peg in a round hole". Sure you could shave down the peg and add lots of glue and with enough effort make it fit, but you probably are better off just making a round peg. There really is very little that can be shared between games, and most things that can be shared are what gets packed together into the engine. Outfitters like SWTOR's is definitely not one of those things.
  13. This doesn't even make sense Lost Ark will effect this game's numbers (proportionately) the exact same whether they release the expansion or not This isn't a theatrical release, the opening box office weekend means absolutely nothing (those numbers aren't even published). This honestly comes across as incredibly selfish. "I want to play Lost Ark but also play SWTOR on launch, so can you delay SWTOR for EVERYBODY ELSE so I can have that?" And releasing it earlier rather than later will more likely speed up the possible feature reversions you want, as they'll have actual hard data to support such a move (or lack thereof) Go play Lost Ark if that's what you want to play. SWTOR will be here waiting when you get bored of it. Meanwhile I'll be playing SWTOR, because that's what I want to play. Everybody is happy.
  14. The simple reason this doesn't exist is because this isn't a porno An entire society fueled by lust might make for an "interesting" ecchi or hentai, but it is hardly sustainable on a social level and the real world doesn't work that way, and even a fictional universe like Star Wars won't twist reality that far.
  15. What part of my post suggested I wanted them to GIVE it to me? I am perfectly willing to pay for that access. What I don't want to pay for is the physical items that I don't give a crap about, or scalper collector prices that may or may not result in a fraudulent item being received. This is hardly unprecedented. Shroud of Memory eventually got released (for big CC cost), and I have no problem with that (having earned it the "original" way). Many other items as well.
  16. Ugh, and here I was excited to finally get access to the CE vendor. That's all I really care about. Guess you guys don't want any more of my money...
  17. Estimating isn't that simple I'm afraid Nothing they promised are things they can't do, it's things they can't do in the time and budget they thought they would need If it helps, imagine you're an author, and your publisher asks you "when is the next book in the series coming out?" and you say, "oh I should have it in 6 months" Then something goes wrong. Perhaps a family member dies and you lose a few weeks. Maybe you get sick and lose a few more. Perhaps you get halfway through and realize that the whole thing is just not right, doesn't work, and you throw it out and start over. Simply put, software estimating is hard, not helped one bit by the corporate overlords who want to publish glamourous marketing campaigns as early as possible. Trust me, they took it into account. They just got it very very wrong, and didn't communicate their problems very well at all (which is a separate problem)
  18. Has nothing to do with it. That's the whole point. You can say what you want about it because that's the nature of public forums, nothing to do with your member number or achievements or whatever. Or put another way, your podium doesn't grow with age or accomplishments. Starting to make demands and belittling other's views based on time in game or achievements and whatnot, as the OP was doing, is when it starts getting irritating.
  19. Also many memory sticks are still formatted with FAT32, which has a maximum single file size of 4 GB Depending on the size of the archives being downloaded, this could also be an issue (easily solved by formatting as NTFS or exFAT)
  20. This is a persistent bit of misinformation that's been floating around, and is really unfortunate. As already noted, everything that currently exists is not changing (in regards to mods that is), so if cosmetics is more important to you than squeezing out the last bit of stats, then you probably won't be affected much. Also moddable gear isn't going away going forward, it's just not going to be available at 7.0, as it'll only be available when the higher item rating gear comes out, first (IIRC) with the new OP and then later all forms of content as the max item rating for the content scales up. (the wisdom of this is dubious really, but at least it is only temporary)
  21. Which has absolutely nothing to do with the outfitter, which is what the topic of the thread, so what's your point?
  22. Of course I read it Do we have weapons in outfitter now? Right, we don't. Doesn't seem to be causing you serious issues no? It's been this way for over 10 years now. I'm sure you can hold out for a couple more months or so until the shiny new stuff hits live.
  23. lol, cute that you think how long you've played somehow makes you entitled to something But for fun, let's do a little comparison. You can get a relative approximation of when someone started from their member number, which increases sequentially You=2236705 Me=1709459 Oh dear, now isn't that interesting. So back to the simple solution for you I guess. If you find the features of 7.0 "unacceptable", then don't play till they are "acceptable", which is slated for 7.1 by the metrics you provided.
  24. lol what? 7.0 will not in any way impact your ability to continue using those items as you currently do. How on earth does recognizing that make me entitled? I am not the one demanding anything.
  25. I think you're confusing the legal variety of bounty hunter you find in places like the US with the more generic term. What they are authorized to do in the SW galaxy vs the modern US are very different. Simply put, a BH is someone who hunts a bounty. Whether that bounty survives the experience is immaterial. An assassin is more of a specific type of bounty hunter, one where there is no alive option.
