  1. I would just shake my head sadly for 25 seconds, then leave and take my money with me.
  2. If they ever implement a LFG tool, I'd hope there is some sort of gearcheck - but honestly with what I've seen so far I'm not hopeful for either functionality.
  3. Now you claim to know what I want? All I want is an effective LFG system, but I'm certain you already know that. No, it doesnt. Nothing changes the fact that the choice to use the LFG tool or not is in the player's hands. If you hate the LFG system you can not use it, and nothing can ever take that choice away from you. It's not an automatic system (or lack of one) to which there is no alternative, like the one we have now. You're claiming there are strong motivating factors for using an LFG tool once its implemented. That's probably true - but the choice is always made by the player. Not the tech. Not the functionality. Not the game. You.
  4. Those damage ranges have to be way off or otherwise broken. My Merc has something like 6500 - 9800 on the ranged tab, which only represents a single ability that never hits for anything close to those levels. I'd just ignore them. TIL, thanks.
  5. All these percentages are bullsh*t. The choice to use the tool or not isn't found in an equation, it rests with the individual. 'Having no choice' is the situation we have NOW, where finding a pickup group DEMANDS that you spam general on the fleet - yet you're saying that actually having a choice whether to use a LFG tool or not means that nobody has a choice? Absurd.
  6. aaaaaaaand, tea spewed all over my keyboard and monitor. Well played, sir.
  7. and ends, in TOR. There's not much to do when you get there.
  8. Excellent point. With Star Wars, the lore and canon has a stranglehold on game mechanics and systems, which should be paramount. Not implementing changes or improvements to the game because 'it wouldnt make sense in the lore' is just going to doom it to mediocrity or worse. 'Story-driven' isn't much of a draw when the story of your gameworld has been written for millennia already by the time you log in ...
  9. I'l give ME3 at least one playthrough. I enjoyed the other 2. Preach it brother.
  10. Sure TOR has potential - untapped potential. Even with the horrible single-player approach, there are a lot of things in the game that could obviously be great but are just mediocre. At the rate BW is going, the game should have some meat on its bones in 6-12 months. Maybe check back then, atm it isnt much to speak of. You also could argue that the reason TOR has more 'potential' than WoW is that WoW has actualized its potential for some time now.
  11. /disagree with OP, I actually really love the gigantic citywide planets.
  12. I agree, heat is just generally an over-restrictive mechanic that could possibly be more fun and engaging to play with a few changes to the system. It's playable as-is but its really just a roadblock system when it could be much more. Getting your 4pc set bonus will help with heat management - and its doable - but its still just a sh*tty boring system where your heat meter says '0 - 100' but you really only have 40 heat. How can you spam something with a fifteen-second cooldown? I tried; It doesn't work...
  13. You can't make sweeping changes like this, based only on anecdotal PvP references, in a game without a combat log or any ability to parse. It's just not a good idea and I really hope that Bioware knows that too.
  14. This is something that youd expect to make its way into the game when more legacy features are implemented. Even if they charge for it or allow a limited number of changes, it seems like a pretty standard feature for any MMO. Also expect some type of feature to give each character in a legacy their own last name, another no-brainer.
  15. I'm not a MMO dev but I have played MMOs for over a decade, and It seems like you nerf/or buff the most isolated element in a system where imbalance exists. It would make sense to bring an imbalanced system into equilibrium with the fewest possible adjustments, right? If that is indeed the case, its easy to see why a single class/ability/etc is adjusted downwards, rather than the values for everything else in the game adjusted upwards. If I were developing an MMO, that's what my thinking would be.
  16. I'll be that. I don't care anymore. So I'm a bad player. I suck. I definte terribad. I'm a keyspamming, facerolling noob. I am not worthy to even contemplate the IP address of a server you play on. I am a mouthbreathing, knuckledragging, evolutionary hiccup. I am a waste of genetic material. You know what? I still want addons.
  17. I would also like to know the answer to this question.
  18. This is probably bad, but I dont ever 'help'. If I see a player standing and fighting targets, I'll assume they know what theyre doing and that they're fine. If they weren't, they'd probably be running - since its not very difficult to drop combat and/or escape in TOR. I don't mind if someone 'helps' me I suppose, although it does kind of imply that you weren't ok on your own. Whatever, i guess?
  19. I'd love to see a race-specific questline! More flavour, definitely.
  20. It does seem rather late to add something like racial abilities. Also, as cool as they can be, they do carry the potential for massive imbalance. /disagree
  21. /signed. Some procs/buffs are not visible enough and the icons are difficult to see. Playing a BH arsenal Merc, the only proc i need to be worried about has a VERY visible graphic/particle effect. As a SI lightning Sorc, there are more procs - though some are passive - but they all look similar to each other, and none of them are well distinguished from the rest of the lightning flying around. Some kind of HUD would be fantastic - but honestly, this might be the kind of thing best left to modders and addon devs.
