  1. /signed This is a feature I'd definitely make use of if it were ingame.
  2. OP's idea will never be implemented in TOR because it is just WAY too awesome.
  3. People may not be programming experts or have much knowledge on the technical aspect of software development, but having played MMOs - the finished product of that knowledge and technology - players often do have experience and insight about what works in a game, what doesnt, and why.
  4. Took the survey. I built an overkill gaming PC for TOR, so generally I have very good FPS ingame - but there are definitely spots where the framerate will consistently drop to 10-20ish no matter what (one of the worst ones I've seen is on the SI ship). Interested in seeing the results of the poll.
  5. I'm an empire player. The Sith and Galactic Empire is pretty lame, admittedly. The only cool empire is the Imperium of Man.
  6. Hell, MORE entertainment to be had than being in game! /popcorn
  7. I like Skadge, but my BH is an Arsenal Merc so i never get to use him.
  8. Well, the question was specifically what to do with a new, level 50 character. Rerolling doesn't really fit that criteria. Also, after getting 3 characters to 50, its obvious that the 'storylines' are all identical except for about 2-3 hours of class-specific cutscenes. If you rolled alts as you claim then youd know that too. Don't worry about me. In another 60 days I won't be focused on TOR whatsoever.
  9. so when you hit 50: - HMs until you get your tier drop from them. (7 HMs total) - Operations, Eternity Vault and Karagga's Palace. (10 Bosses total) - PvP (if youre into it) That's it.
  10. While I personally wasn't crazy about LOTRO, I know exactly what you mean about the game having a soul. TOR just doesnt have that feeling.
  11. Effective targeting for healers is 'spoiled'? I thought a game was supposed to be enjoyable, not just tolerable.
  12. I wanted to try different raid roles too - but without any parser or even any kind of combat log to compare performance vs playstyle, what's the point? I'll stick with the one geared character I already have. I was shocked on my 2nd and 3rd characters to discover just how little content is class-specific. They even recycle class quest locations on most planets...
  13. I have a geared 50 Arsenal Merc main and two 50 alts, lightning sorc and marks agent. My guild is 5/5 EV HM and 2/5 KP HM, so there's some room there for progression through HMs and into NMs but obviously I can't do it alone. I still login 3x a week to raid but I'm fairly bored with TOR atm and having fun playing Skyrim again.
  14. I thought of this as well. Once I wrapped my head around the idea, it seemed like the way TOR should have been from the beginning. Throw in DA's Tactics system for NPC control and youve got something.
  15. Disagree. The affection mechanic isnt interesting or compelling enough in the first place to bother maintaining it. Sure, you should have something to do with those gifts. In fact, there are too many companion gift missions across the board. Adding more variety to missions or removing some of the gift missions would be just as viable as having affection degrade.
  16. Didn't matter, still cancelled. 3 months is plenty of time to form an opinion. Hell, 3 weeks was enough.
  17. Conversely, there wouldn't be so many negative turds on the forums if the game were better.
  18. Space combat is fine, move alone, nothing to see here...
  19. Because its annoying when people have inane personal conversations in a general channel. That's what /tells are for. The games are intentionally being designed that way. Part of what kept MMOs from becoming mainstream earlier was grouped leveling mechanics - where you'd grind out XP by camping and pulling mobs - and the time commitment that required. As a result, soloability is very likely seem as paramount to any MMO dev today, for marketability if nothing else. The time commitment necessary to progress in a MMO hasnt changed much but in highly soloable MMOs, at least you can put in that time at your own pace. The soloability issue compounds itself in group situations when XP is being gained. Part of the issue is that the benefits of playing in a group aren't substantial enough. A group will only slow down the xp/hour of an efficient leveler - who is only leveling efficiently so he can get to endgame and experience group content.
