Sounds like BW needs to remove any type of scoring from hutrball and make it so players can't damage each other. Since the combat log is SO BAD for the community because, as in your example, good players get left out of raid because the DPS or healing sucks--but they do other stuff for raid... So to do we need to petition BW to remove killing and scoring from PVP--we need to protect the feelings of the good players that are simply keyboard challenged.

Now that's not leveling all the way to 50 solo, is it? Decided to level a Republican toon--almost to level 50 and have never grouped once. Not because I haven't wanted too--just has never been the opportunity. I think I have seen maybe two dozen lines of chat during the entire leveling process. Freaky to play an entire night and never see another soul or see any text. You miss out on some gear--but all the gear from leveling is worthless at 50 anyhow--so don't miss out much except the experience. Sure wish there was an LFG tool....

BW doesn't want to put macros or addons in the game--not sure why. But the game is less of a game because of the decision. But drop some cash on some additional hardware and poof--macros, mouse over healing, and sorts of stuff the masses will never know about. (I've setup some pretty amazing healing macros with my keyboard and mouse.) Just glad this isn't against the TOS--hard to say it is against the TOS when EA/BW are selling SWTOR branded versions...

The last MMO that deleted toons was UO and that was only in the beginning. Pretty sure that now even UO maintains your characters no matter how long you have been unsubscribed.

And another person that has no idea what addon does what. Grid IS in SWTOR--get into an operation. See the health bar layout--that is what Grid does. Well--let me make one minor correction. Grid shows the correct health and buffs/debuffs. The SWTOR frames still break all the time.

What Stipe said kinda--There are macros in the game right now--you just have to pay extra to have access to them... i.e. you need to buy new hardware--either a gaming mouse or keyboard. So folks complain about not having macros or mouse over healing. Spend $50 to $150 bucks and you'll have something a little closer to what modern MMO ship with. Pretty sad actually...

Another take on the healing issue is PVP versus PVE. Healers, I suspect, are a little overpowered in PVP because healing in PVE with the current UI isn't very efficient. Or said another way, diminish the effectiveness of healing for PVP and suddenly those Flashpoints and Operations become very difficult to heal successfully. Hopefully BW first fixes the UI and allows stuff like mouse over healing, before the nerf bat comes out to balance PVP.

TOR doesn't compare to WOW of today or even 7 years ago. WoW didn't have two major exploits waylay the game within weeks of release. WoW had a combat log, addons, and a myriad of other features missing from TOR at release. Heck even the graphics in WOW were comparable--and that is sad. After 7 years--you'd think the graphics would look a little better. Have to love the complexity of the TOR sky... Best to not compare TOR to any version of WOW. Stick to comparing TOR to Tabula Rasa. TOR is much, much better than Tabula Rasa!!

The loading screens are great--excellent for the immersion. The loading screens remind me of the time we had to wait between Star Wars 6 and Star Wars I.

The folks that lost the mount roll are I'm sure glad you'll be using the mount for another 30 days at least!

If WoW is dead--what is TOR? Blizzard will sell more copies of MoP in North America during the 1st week than TOR's total, worldwide sales. Rather than worry about the health of a game that has proven to be successful, why not focus on what needs to happen with TOR to retain subscriptions.

Why do people keep bringing up pandas? The next WoW expansion is right around the corner. People bring up pandas like they are the end of WoW. Not sure how to break it to the fanbois gently, so I'm just going to come out and say it. Mist of Pandas will sell more copies in North America during the first week than total copies of TOR sold from day 1 through the MoP release. It is almost like there is something like substance or enjoyable gameplay behind the Blizzard release that continues to retain subscriptions.... As for sticking around while BW works to fix the game. How about you shoot me a PM and we'll work out how you can pay the $15 subscription fee for me. Back in 2005--there were very few options for MMOs. Sure WOW had its problems--but it had the least problems of all the current options at the time. TOR does not enjoy the same luxury in 2012. The notion we need to give BW more time to finish the game is a joke. Rift was developed in a shorter time frame with a far smaller budget--yet Rift was able to include many of the modern accepted norms in MMOs--why is that? TOR feels like the development team spent 4 years collecting salary and one year of hard work...

Yes--It is definitely the fault of the game players that TOR has done so badly. The game players should play this steaming pile and like it!! How dare they complain about the game not meeting expectations. EA is not to blame in the least for pushing this pile of crud out the door before it was ready.

Umm--might want to check your percentages. Less than 40% of the initial purchases are continuing with the first month. The huge drop off of subs is what lead to the Founders program and the downgrade in EA's stock outlook.

The UI works great--as long as you are not in a group... TOR's players just need to stop being futurists and play the game like it is 2005.

An fix for the GPU heating? Having the game run 15c to 20c hotter than any other game was a deal killer for me. Not going to cook a video card to play TOR.

Ummm--you can't be an elitist. Well you can be, but not if you are still playing TOR. The elitist and harder core players have figured out that TOR isn't and most likely never will be a challenging game.

This game will see a huge spike in player numbers. Going to take a few more months before the Free2Play conversion is completed, but should be lots of players after that...

You are so right with that wall of text. So what you are saying is TOR is dirty? Since it is only dirt that causes the heating issues--TOR must be dirt. Let me explain. I load up BF3 or Arkham City--play for several hours and the temperatures never exceed 70c. Load up TOR and start playing. With 20 minutes the temperatures soar to over 85c. Get out of TOR and load up BF3--the temperatures quick drop to the 65c-68c range. So yeah--you must be right on with your analysis. But hey, if you end up buying a video card in the next few weeks, don't get your panties in a bunch--you were told to watch those temps. You don't even need to believe me. If you are smart enough to use Google, search for GPU-Z and log the temperatures while you play a few different games. Or if you don;t know what you doing, take it into the shop and yell at the technicians and pay them $30 to teach you how to watch you GPU temps.

Pretty sure the Legacy option will allow you to create toons with more girth and paler skin the higher your Legacy level. i.e. Fat, pale toons

If you like PVP--Republic is going to have the faster queues. I've sat in queues for over two hours on the Empire side. (only to have the Republic players drop from the match. )

Here is a dirty trick that works--after a few pulls. Inform them that you are NOT healing spec, but will have no problem keeping them alive, they just have to chill between pulls. I've found that after that, every time I mediate, they do to. Folks stop breaking CC, play smarter, etc...
