  1. I'm use to healing with the middle button mapped to "remove debuff". So frustrating playing SWTOR--not only does the middle button never seem to work as a keybind. But unless you first left click on a frame before you middle click--you won't cast on the correct target. So frustrating. Why can't I simply middle click over the frame needing the debuff removed...
  2. Raeln--I think you hit the nail on the head. Not sure anyone said it better--TOR would have been a great game if it had been released in 2005. It is surprising that smaller companies, Like Tiron, can release a game like Rift--a game that met many of the expectations of the modern MMO gamer at release. Yet the BW team struggles to create a game worth paying the subscription fee.
  3. TL:DR TOR is an excellent game to maintain an active subscription while enjoying other games, such as ME3, GW3, WOW, Rift, etc... How BW how far you have fallen since being gobbled up by EA.
  4. Having leveled three toons--not all are easy sauce. BH has been faceroll easy. Sorcerer had a few tough fights, but nothing too bad. Smuggler/Scoundrel has proven to be the trickiest of the three. Since you can stealth, a bunch of bonus missions get skipped and I tend to be a level or two below the boss at the end of every planet. Those fights have been really tough to solo. So far rinse and repeat until I get lucky with crits/interupts to get the kill--or grind out a level, upgrade some gear, use a stim, and try again. Not insurmountable without help, but definitely harder to solo elites than, with say, a BH.
  5. In before lock. And there are two ways to skip the VO stuff--space bar and a setting in options.
  6. Calling someone a Virginia in game is a quick way to get a ban....
  7. This issue is most definitely caused by the players. All TOR players need to ensure there are never more than three other players in view. Taking these simple steps eliminates all the FPS problems. What kind of player expects to have more then 10 players visible on the screen? Do people think this game is kind of MMO or something?
  8. Let us hope it doesn't arrive too late to preserve the player base...
  9. Now that BW has the customer service working so well in the NA/EUR market--time to expand!!
  10. Yeah leveling to 25 in WOW sucks compared to TOR. TOR is much better than WOW for those first levels. Just a shame things become rather boring after 25....
  11. Thought #1 WoW has more raid content WoW could have less content than TOR--but the fact you can clear all of TOR's raid content in nightmare mode in a few hours with zero preparation makes TOR's content insignificant. Thought #2 TOR raids are too easy vs. WoW Really? Beating the HM raganaos fight in the last raid takes most guilds over 400 wipes to beat. Most guilds that are working on hard modes in the latest raid have less than 3 (of the 8) bosses down. See above--if you have two hours, you can clear TOR's nightmare raids. Thought #3 There is nothing to do in TOR at endgame vs. WoW Oh yes--the TOR end game outside of raids is super engaging--that is why the servers are brimming with people. If the content really was there, people would be logging on every day. Our guild has dropped from over 40 people online all the time, to 5 to 10 players. Most only log on once or twice a week. Thought #4 TOR is more aimed at casuals than WoW There is a difference between casual players and a casual game. WoW is definitely an easier game for casual players to find something to do. TOR on the other hand is a casual game--TOR is meant to be played for a few hours then you'll find things get incredibly lonely and boring.
  12. There are so many different ways to cheat in TOR--the ranked PVP I'm sure will make everyone stop cheating...
  13. As a healer--it is nice to be able to roll need on anything I want for my companions. But I will replace a DPS in an instant if he does the same.
  14. So strange that no other game--and I've played and checked the temperatures of BF3, Crysis 2, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft--all of them run below 70C. Most run under 65C. But fire up TOR and temps will skyrocket to 90C in a relative short period. If TOR had the graphics of Crysis 2 or any of the other game, I wouldn't be shocked. But TOR's graphics look to be half a decade old--yet TOR pushes the video card hotter than the newest game? State of the art graphics--I think not. Bad coding? From the team that couldn't deliver a combat log or /roll at release--yeah I'll go with bad coding. (Why do you think AA was removed for launch?) There is a fix--search my earlier posts. Most folks are happy to keep playing with no clue. As I said--you've been told some folks are having heat issues. Glad you are not. And if you video card does cook--just remember a few fellow players tried to save you $250.
  15. There are more people on the forums then there are playing the game....
  16. All of this stuff is and has been rampant in the game... i.e. Depending on your viewpoint--it already is a problem.
  17. If by doing something wrong--you mean playing TOR--then you are on to something. Hardware does not like to run at 200degrees fahrenheit. When it does for extended periods semi conductors and solder connections begin to fair. You'll first notice graphics flickering, then you'll see artifacts on the screen, eventually you'll have bands of artifacts and/or no usable video.
  18. Sorry to see you go. Seen the same thing happening in our guild. And in before the lock!
  19. One other note on macros--macros work great in the game right now. You just have to pay extra to use them. Those with razer mice or G13/G11's have a distinct advantage in PVP. If macros come to the game--then everyone will have the ability to level the field. Only the elite--those that can afford hardware solutions, should be able to use macros. Keep macros away from the masses. Kind of nice to know the only time you stand a chance of losing in PVP is when you are fighting against another elite player. With ranking coming it will be even more important that only the privileged have access to macros.
  20. According to GPU-Z--TOR runs significantly hotter on my video card (An nVidia ti560). I see temperatures 10c to 15c higher than other games. (Batman, Crysis, BF3, COD4, WoW) I wonder if the folks saying they aren't seeing over heating are truely running in the normal range, don't know what hot is, or simply don't know at what temperature their video card is running. Bottom line--folks have been told. I suspect we'll see more and more--TOR cooked my $250 graphics card posts as we head into warmer temperatures. Just when your stuff melts down--don't start whining--you've been informed.
  21. I could give a link to some great endgame, but I'd just get flagged. So to answer the OP's question--yes you can buy some great, challenging endgame--just not in TOR. Your kidding right? Sure one group of 25--out of 10million players got world firsts. Check wowprogress.com to see the percentage of guilds that have cleared regular and hard mode. As for LFR, sure it is ridiculously easy--as it is designed to be. Anyone can jump in a queue and in less than 20 minutes they are raiding. I would actually say the TOR raids are much, much harder then WoWs. The majority of players in TOR will never clear the first Operation on easy mode for the simple reason they will never get into a raid group. i.e. it isn't the raiding that is hard in TOR--it is the grouping.
  22. There will never be addons in TOR. Two reasons. #1 The development team wasn't able to code simple things like /roll. Heck--look at the easy exploits that have been patched out over the last two months. Stuff like a combat log, hi-res graphics, PVP flagged players tricking non-flagged players into vunerability--and the list goes on. Does anyone actually believe the development team has the talent to add a scripting language? Be realistic. #2 If by some chance the development team ever did create a scripting language--we've seen the easy exploits that already got into the game. Can you imagine the exploits that would occur with an open interface once talented coders started writing mods? We would never see any new content--BW would be bringing the servers down every night to fix another exploit. So as much as folks would like to see addons--don't hold your breath... A scripting language takes programming skills to incorporate into the game. This teams skill seem to max out at conversation choices.
  23. Folks do realize that when games like Batman Arkam City and such, that are logo'd with the nVidia banner had help from nVidia when developing the game--right? i.e. nVidia sends an engineer or three to the game developer to assist with coding. The nVidia engineers help to make sure the code is getting the most out of the card. Me thinks, this is one reason why games like Arkham city look fantastic yet still run 10C to 15C cooler than the dated, low-res graphics in TOR.
  24. What is the difference between submitting a bug report and posting in the forums? There is a chance someone might read what you wrote in a forum post... Based on how BW handled the bug reports from beta--I'm pretty sure the bug reports go straight into /dev/null
  25. It is great that some people still enjoy the game! For lots of folks--reading the forums is much, much more fun than TOR. There is a ray of sunshine though--ME3 is right around the corner... Plus, BW gave time credits to a massive number players that unsubscribed. Most had no idea they got the time--but those that did I think skipped the game and went straight to the forums. Hopefully when they give all the folks that unsubscribed some more game time for the next shareholder subscription count they will allow them to play, but block forum posting rights.
