  1. I'm one of those who are looking for an alternative from WoW, hoping that bioware can deliver something extraordinary. Unfortunately, it did, in the way that it hurts me. It is extraordinarily buggy and poor coded. Hacks? Unacknowledged. Ilum? Dead, trade kills, and soon, so more quest for it in 1.2. Endgame? ALTs. Crew skill imbalance? Tens of millions of crafted goods are made, traded, and used. Performance issues? Most players don't experience it. Ability delay? UI indicator issue. UI indicator issues? We have several broken UI indicators you can choose from. Seriously? Fine, PR speeches are fine. Better gear on an already easy game is going to kill it even faster, leaving PvP the only way out, as better gear does mean somthing. You may say that WoW does it too, but you probably should realized that WoW lose subs because of this, pigeon hole players into doing one instance, and then put a cap on how much they can progress/gain in a week, and release a new instance with better gears so everyone are pushed towards the new instance instead. To ensure everyone can access the new zone, its difficulties are set for monkeys. Technically speaking, it saves a lot of resources, but players hate it. Continue to build around this design is going to kill the end faster than they expected.
  2. You can still fire missiles on targets that trigger torpedo locking after all torpedo is used. Simply lock and unload a blank shot and you can fire missiles while the torpedo is on CD. I however which to make torpedo locking "5" instead of right click. Hold "5" to lock and release "5" when locked to fire torpedoes.
  3. Sorry for the ill grammer in advance. I have a feeling that those who continuously say that the delay is gone never had an issue with the delay to begin with. They feel their ability is queued and didn't realized that the is anything wrong until fixes come in, shorten the wait time, so they feel better after these fixes. As for me, and some others who swear that it has not been fixed are probably those who have experience on other MMOs and love to run/stop cast and/or cast a sequence of abilities back to back without spamming the keys. In fact, I am still experiencing a problem where the button is pressed and the animation is played, but no damage done and no CD triggered. In computer terminology, the client accepted the command but the server rejected it. Things as simple as stop and cast something that requires the player to be stationary fails most of the time as the server rejects the ability command because it still thinks the player is moving. The work around is either spam the ability key or pause before using the ability key. We used to add a cancel towards abilities that requires a cast time to steal .1 sec (ping latency) back so the client accepts the spell while the cancel comment will be discarded by the time it arrives to the server. After WoW introduced ability queuing, people can mindlessly spam abilities back to back without the need of using the "cancel" command as the server queues command automatically, removing the delay caused by ping latency. That is, suppose the user have a .05 second pause in between 2 cast, the server will remove this user delay if the previous spell has not been fired. The problem is, SWToR also has ability queuing, except that it does not work. First, the server does not queue abilities properly, validation of the ability was done before the ability gets into the queue instead of after it gets out of the queue. Second, moving/jumping are being queued, where they should not be queued. That cause character to be stuck in place right after an ability that requires time to cast. Third, sometimes an ability appears to have a long delay, some describe it is a 4 second delay, which is likely to occur when the user tries to stop from moving and cast an ability. To client, the toon stopped and are not doing anything, but to the server, the toon is still moving, and therefore the ability does not get fired until the server thinks the toon as stopped. Aside from queuing, the ability validation is not being done right on the client side. Use any range type class and try to use the filter shooting ability while running away and facing away from the targetting mob and you will see shooting animation played and then gets interrupted where it is not suppose to play at all as we ain't facing the mob. This itself is not a big issue as the animation did get interrupted. The problem is, not all animation gets interrupted, some just gets played where it does not do anything other than the animation. All players should have experienced the 0 health but not yet dead moment where you can't do anything with 0 health and dies in around 2 seconds. I know these are not a simple fixes, but devs should be honest about these issues instead of just say "It is fixed it is fixed" where it had not been fixed and they know about it. We are not paranoid, these problems exist and are not being addressed. It has nothing to do with the CD display, and mounting won't show it (although by itself it was a problem.) If these bugs are fixed, then people will realized that the classes are actually balanced, just bugs that prevent class mechanics to execute properly.
  4. No. Bugs everywhere(it should be considered too buggy even if it is beta), broken crew skills, unable to sync client and server properly, high rez bug(this one kills any trust from me to devs of the game), horrible performance during mid scale pvp (under 40ppl), incomplete GTN (search), crappy and broken UI(no CD counter, target of target, Focus blocks enemy cast bar, WZ map blocks right bar, in-game FPS are blocked by companion windows. The worst of all, infos from UI are WRONG most of the time!) Yes, this is already brief.
  5. 2v-r8 says "I give you something beyond perfection master! you deserve nothing left" after failing a mission. If I can say things back to it i'll say "You screwed me beyond perfection you worthless pile of broken malwares! You wasted my creds, failed the mission, and give me false information right when I am about to purchase something on the 68th page! Either you give me a good reason, pronounce the word LESS, or you will mount your broken head at the ends of the warp drive outside of the ship!"
  6. The bug boss is too strong....Gripple, ended up at the top of the ship.../stuck...gripple...top of the ship ... wait for stuck CD ..../stuck....gripple ...fall.. gripple...top of the ship ...wait for stuck CD .... /stuck .... gripple ...dead...walk back .... BW really really needs to nerf this boss.
  7. I don't know why people say it is gone. It is in fact worst than before. It is not the animation. The most obvious description is that you sometimes don't die after you are dead for a few second. To the server, you are dead and therefore you can't move or do anything, but the client stills see you are alive as the server has not signal the client that you are dead until some seconds later. The happens to ability too, and it is a nightmare for gunslinger. Cover followed by an ability that requires cover fails often. To top that off, cover triggers "charge shot" to be instant, but it never works unless you wait for .5 second before you use charge shot. In other words, it is more like "make your next or next next charge shot to be instant." Cover followed by rapid fire will trigger the animation and channel bar to play, but no damage done or trigger its CD. Because the animation is played, user will think that it has been fired where it is not. Spamming rapid fire will fix it, but the channel bar will be off as it is based on the first rapid fire trigger, not the one that actually fired. Cover followed by aim shot is the worst, as the animation as 2 parts, the charge and the shot as well as the cast bar. The charge and the cast bar was played immediately, but the shot animation is never played as the shot won't get fired. This is worst than rapid fire because you spamming doesn't fix it as you can't use another ability while you are casting one. Unfortunately, the casting bar was incorrect as the ability was never triggered at the server side, meaning that to others, you simply covered and did nothing for the duration of the rapid fire. Illegal mods (as well as abilities from relics) takes a long time(like 0.5 second, sometimes longer) before it kicks in. This is visible as your immediately spell is not likely to be an instant spell. All of the above can be easily reproduced, and rapid fire doesn't trigger CD sometimes after 1.1b, meaning that the animation is played, but no damage done when it is used after another ability as the ability is ready to use on client side at the time user use it, but to server, it isn't ready yet.
  8. Individual apps don't change settings of the video card unless it is designed to do so and SWToR won't change fan speed. Nvidia driver uses 3d profile for different application by detecting the executable in memory, but sometimes users need to specify the location of the executable to be able to detect it(don't ask me why). Without the correct profile, the video card may under perform. However, this also means the utilization of the video card may increase drastically once the right profile is used. My guess is that the driver failed to detect the game on the first installation, and after you mess around with it, it does, therefore increased the load on the video card. The fan speed was probably set by you a long time ago and it never had a problem since the video card never got worked up, and therefore never "screamed out loud" before.
  9. I seem to have unique problems that are related to ability delays (gunslinger). Problem 1, crouching followed immediately by aim shot: Animation and cast bar are triggered with no shot. Problem 2, crouching followed immediately by speed shot: Animation (shooting) and channel bar played but no damage done. The ability does not trigger CD. Problem 3, crouching followed immediately by charged burst(sharpshooter): Shot is fired with the cast bar triggered. As you can see, all this is due to the ability delay on crouching/covering. The intended mechanics should be cover, shoot, cover... but it does not work. To make it work, you must cover, wait, shoot, cover.. or cover, filter shot, shoot, cover.... Problem 4, aim-shot+knockback: Due to Problem 1, sharpshooter's key defense ability is broken as you run, cover followed by aim-shot just to wait through the animation/timer and then ... nothing ... Problem 5, defense screen: The tooltip may be wrong, and it does not get triggered at all. In practice, you only use it when you are in danger, and a 1 second delay is as good as dead. Problem 6, AoE knock back. This one is the opposite to problem 5 as it always work (it feels like it) except that the animation is delayed. It doesn't hurt the mechanics. Problem 7, illegal mods. This also happens with relic abilities. In short, illegal mod followed immediately by aim shot = 2.5 second cast, where illegal mod + filter shot + aim shot = 2.0 second cast. Note that by immediately, i mean under 1 second. I'm using 2600k@4.8Ghz, 1 SSD for OS, SSD@raid0 for the game and overclocked 460SLI.

  11. Is the fan spinning at all? If so it should sound like a vacuum machine.
  12. Google on how to clean install video card drivers and DirectX. Monitor temps and see if it is temperature related if problems persists.
  13. I want to start an empire toon and want to roll a toon on the east coast due to the latency. I tried west coast servers and the ping is > 100ms, something that can not be changed by upgrading PC and will hurt toon performance on end game. Yet, all servers at east coast are light, and rolling on a light population server means it will be impossible to LFG. Therefore, to all who have a toon in east coast server, can you please post a rough "head count" on fleet so I can decide which server I should roll my new empire toon please?
  14. The precisely answer your question, your CPU should not reach 90c or it will throttle. If temp hits 100c, your PC shuts down automatically. Laptops are not meant to play intense gaming or apps as cooling is indeed an issue. Inside the laptop, there is a thin copper plate running through both CPU, GPU and a small block of fins. That is, the heat produced by GPU and bleed into CPU and vice versa. Eventhough the temp of GPU may be lower than CPU, the amount of heat produced by GPU will endup the copper plater which reduce its effectiveless on absorbing heat from CPU, and therefore resulting high CPU temp. That is, eventhough temp outside of the case is 15c, the true ambient temp to CPU is actually, in your case, 66c. Since different laptops has different copper plate design, and some does have independent cooling for CPU and GPU, so therefore the above may not be true. Run a prime95 with a single thread to see if CPU temp jumps to 80c. If it does, than what I said above false as prime95 does not cause GPU to produce excessive heat. If however the above is true, then the 2 things you can do without taking the laptop apart and reapply TIM is to buy a cooling plate that the laptop can sit on and manually max out the fan during gaming. In short it increase cooling and airflow towards the bottom of the laptop. Yes, I refuse to call that thin copper plate a heatsink!
