  1. I'm looking at this PC http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gaming-PC-That-comes-with-windows-7-and-a-gaming-video-card?item=110854405877&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7446965197666893252 From what i have read a i3 2120 will about out game any AMD CPU any thoughts? http://budget-gaming-computers.com/gaming-cpu-ranking-chart.html
  2. Going out on a limb here but i think you have a 6450 GPU as of now this will use 32 Watts more if that is so. This card uses 63 Watts at max TDP. It's hard to find any video cards for a slim line but here ya go. You could need a PSU upgrade also. (if you have a 250 Watt PSU your borderline if it's 300 you should be ok) Take the side off and measure to make sure it fits but I belive it will. ( make sure you have a PCI-E 16 slot on your mother board see the 2nd link) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102958 Also look here. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3359914&lang=en&docname=c00007413 http://www.hwcompare.com/10821/radeon-hd-6450-oem-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-6670-oem-1gb/
  3. I agree with the 560 but ouch on those prices. http://www.hwcompare.com/10975/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-geforce-gtx-560/
  4. Better performance with this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 http://www.hwcompare.com/9711/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6850/
  5. Good to see somebody else with some knowledge.
  6. And again just not true AMD CPU, 6770 GPU, 1 HDD, 8GB of memory running just fine on my wifes Antec neo eco 400. When I burned in the PC it was using a whopping 197 Watts at 100% load as per my Kill A Watt meter.
  7. Come back to earth a 580 draws a TDP or 244 Watts, 6970 250 Watts, his 5770 106 Watts http://www.hwcompare.com/9289/geforce-gtx-580-3gb-vs-radeon-hd-6970/
  8. That is almost the most overkill on the PSU i have ever seen for a 400 WATT TDP system. i5 2500k $100 cheaper 560ti $100 or more cheaper Antec 620 neo eco for $65 I would of overclocked the CPU to about 4.0 and added the GPU and PSU I listed. For a $320 or so upgrade
  9. PM me if you wish i might have what you need and save you a few $ i3 2120 CPU 6850 GPU
  10. For a simple answer yes. With a 520 (it's nowhere near a gaming card lowest settings at best) you will be very disapointed. If its a prebuilt that comes with a 520 and your going to add a 550ti you will probaly need a new power supply also because they usally put the bare min in them. The 550ti is not really good either get a 6850 or better 560ti. It runs fine on a 6850 but still not maxed out. They are always choices building a PC is really easy. I smell a cyberpower PC http://www.hwcompare.com/9711/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6850/ This will last you for years to come. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.770956 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106333
  11. Please stop posting you can not get 120 FPS The FX 6100 is just bad for gaming no mater what you overclock it to. http://budget-gaming-computers.com/gaming-cpu-ranking-chart.html Antec DOES NOT MAKE A 700 WATT PSU http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/index.php?page=support_productInfo&Category=24
  12. The driver crashes a few times a nite! This sounds more like a heat issue. Buy a can of compressed air, remove video card from PC, hold the fan still to keep it from turning, used air on the card to clean out all the dust and stuff. Install card and use a program to ramp up your fan speed on the card not sure what Nvidia is as i use AMD cards and MSI afterburner. Google is your friend. You might need to clean out you entire PC but the card would be a good start.
  13. I would up the video card to a 550ti atleast a 560ti would be better and get 8gb of memory since it's so cheap.
  14. Well everything he listed is a waste so why stop their.
  15. I would hold off a bit and see what the new Ivy bridge chips look like just me. Also this is something you might like to look at. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/340599-33-6990-7990 Also why just 16GB of ram i would get nothing less than 32
  16. It's not a hard drive problem. Thats all i can say since you did not list the rest of the parts in your PC
  17. A i3 2120 with a 6850 video card is pleanty and together $200 US cheaper will play anything out.
  18. $100 cheaper, more storage ( still fast ran in raid0 ) without the pains of SLI, easy to overclock ( a simple click of the mouse with the touch BIOS ) CPU upgraded to the 2600K with a CPU cooler, use the memory you found since I could not find 32GB for that price. PCI-E 3.0 ready for future upgrades. The first upgrade I would make is a mSATA SSD a 32GB or so for the smart cache it will plug right into the mother board. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128538 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127582 This has plenty of power for this system. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031 CPU unlocked K version http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070 HDD x2 ran in raid0 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148766 CPU cooler http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
  19. 32 Bit systems can use over 2 GB Also always buy matching memory crucial.com will tell you what to get if you have a box store PC. Sometimes a BIOS flash/driver update is needed to upgrade form 2 GB to 4GB or 4GB to 8GB on older systems. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/270437-28-supported
  20. Only 2 things i see that are just wrong and bad advise. It's been a long time for me and a 32 bit system but 4 GB of ram will help it. With 4 GB of ram it will still use something like 3.2 or 3.5 ( forget the amount like I said it's been a long time) it's better than just 2GB. Also the Power supply a good PSU will run more than a cheap overrated one. In my wife's PC i have a 400 Watt Antec Neo Eco Powering a AMD Athlon II x 270 Regor @ 3.4 GHz and a 6770 GPU windows 7 and 8 GB ram. It draws a whopping 189 Watts under load (Kill A Watt meter) I built this for $450 before the hard drive prices went up so i agree on the cheaper systems running OK
  21. Build your own to save money its really easy just google building a pc youtube/newegg. If you need everything including monitor, keyboard, mouse your looking at about $800 US for something that will run decent.
  22. It will not use more than that at start up get a meter and actually check what your saying. Also the syestem he has now uses about 120 Watts total so the first GPU i listed that uses 50 watts will still run on it . In game my system is using 290 Watts. I have a 600 Watt PSU i have no worries "if you buy a antec case it will usally come with something like a 500 W PFC " what is a PFC? and a case comes with a PSU if you buy one that has it. I only sugested a upgrade and also said a newer system would be better.
  23. Just not true people think i need a killer PSU. My system i5 2500k OC @4.2 GHz 6970 OC @ 950/1425 3x 64GB SSD 2x 1TB CB HDD corsair H100 LG CPU cooler 5x 110 CFM led case fans. Running prine 95 100% of the CPU and 80% of the memory with MSI kombuster running 100% of the GPU at the same time guess what my Kill A Watt meter shows i'm using a whopping 380 Watts.
  24. I think you did not see the GPU or lack of he has
  25. If it was me upgrading it the card is 8 1/2 inches long you will need to take the side panel off and measure to make sure it will fit $230 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=63619&vpn=ADX270OCGMBOX&manufacture=AMD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121474 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371029
