  1. You could get this and use the PSU that you already have would be a big upgrade but not really good it only draws 50 Watts but its much higher on the food chain, really you need newer stuff. here is a gpu chart your curently at the bottom. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-radeon-hd-6870-geforce-gtx-570,2834-7.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150580
  2. Always hold the fan still when using air for cleaning it can burn out your bearing/sleave in the fan by turning to many RPM's when you do that.
  3. I approve this message a i3 2100 will out game that chip.
  4. My budget $550 complete build is here. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3367&highlight=blowmedown&page=76 And this is my $650 build i'm selling for $800 I think i sound country lol also my video editing on my cell phone is not that good
  5. Need to know how much $ your talking but if you walk in and buy one you just got ripped off and probaly bought something that can not be upgraded later. Build your own its not that hard Google how to build a PC you tube / newegg This is the least i would build $550 runs fine for my wife with her 900p monitor. (mid settings without the bling turned on) This is everything but monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers you can use what you have already also use the cord from your old power supply it should just pull out from the back. http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=63619&vpn=ADX270OCGMBOX&manufacture=AMD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371029 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147112 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138329 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121474 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145299 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200048 I have a better system that i got the last part in today that will hit ebay / craigs list friday after the build, loading software and stress testing. i3 2120 AMD is not really good at gaming sandy bridge waxes them, HD 6850, cooler master 430 case with clear side window all the lights blinged out. Cheapest way to go is buy what i listed you can PM me if you need more help.
  6. If this is just for SWTOR it's a huge waste of $ and you still will not get 60+ everywhere.
  7. Glad to here the MB driver update resolved your issue.
  8. Not enough info is your new ram reconized in the BIOS, is the timeing right, crucial.com means nothing. Are you mixing your old ram with the new or just have the new installed. IF I REMOVE THE RAM IT FIXES THE ISSUE this makes me think your using the old ram with the new ram never do that always use only matching ram. Remove your old ram and install the new. Buy matching 8gb of ram. english is my 3rd language if i word things wrong
  9. Depends on your monitor rez such as 900p/1050p/1080p what CPU you have, motherboard, PSU so no unless you can give more input or link the PC you have.
  10. First thats a good price on that case. Second looks like a solid system 1 thing i would upgrade to is the GPU for a few more $. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 And get this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 You can save the $ for them with this PSU it's pleanty for that system. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031 As far a waiting on the IVY your choice PCIE 2.1 is not being fully used yet so it will be a few years at least before you need 3.0 if ever. They will not start making games that people can not play.( except a poor game engine like this) The IVY will be pricey for about 15% better performance. The i5 2500k will destroy all games for years to come their really no need to OC it much now unless your one that just needs to say my CPU is OC'ed @ 5.0 GHz. As far as ncix I never use them so no anwser their. EDIT i really like 1.5v ram for intel http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
  11. Just a thought the 7xxx series really does not look that good unless you just look at the memory clock speed. Ivy is suposed to be like 15% better, a i5 2500k will max everything out game wise easy, PCI-E 3.0 nothing uses the full 2.1 yet. And no you will not see dirt cheap.
  12. You will not max this game FPS wise no mater what you buy in all places till they fix it on their end but you should play as good as it will. You should of posted hear with your budget looking for the best bang for the buck, but their nothing wrong with what you have. If i word things wrong sorry english is my 3rd language.
  13. The fx 6100 really is bad for gaming but i'm here to help first what PSU do you have upgrade might not be needed to get a better GPU check this out. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=337314
  14. Same here i bought a corsair TX 850 Just did a test on my wife's AMD II x2 270 with a 6770 and got a big 189 watts under load i could of used the Antec NEO ECO 520 i put in it in my system lol.
  15. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=337314
  16. My system: i5 2500k @ 4.2 6970 @ 950/1425 Z 68 MB 3 x 64 GB SSD's 2x CB 1TB HDD's 8G Ram Corsair H100 Liquid CPU cooler 5x 110 CFM 120mm case fans running at 100% with fan controller. How many watts do you think this system is pulling at idle and under load? I just got my P3 Kill A Watt usage monitor and for everybody that thinks this needs a killer PSU your wrong. IDLE 89 Watts Under load Prime95 and MSI Kombuster running at the same time CPU was at 100% GPU was at 99% it used a whopping 311 Watts
  17. A i3 2130 will out game that CPU for less and draw 65 watts. http://budget-gaming-computers.com/gaming-cpu-ranking-chart.html Even better $30 more with the 15 buck discount than the one you picked and your set to play with the big boys. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 Save the $ to pay for it with this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128502 Good GPU and with the MB you can add anouther down the road if needed. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521 This is how it stacks up against the 550ti http://www.hwcompare.com/9710/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6870/ With the i3 you can run the stock cooler as per no over clocking, but with either the AMD you picked or the i5 2500k you will need a aftermarket cooler. This is a good PSU that has the power for you to add anouther card in the future for xfire. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021
  18. All 10's no problems with game. i5 2500k @ 4.2 6970 @ 950/1425 8GB
  19. I would replace the paste on a none K series CPU and use the stock cooler but not on a K series.
  20. That is a really bad CPU for gaming a i3 2100 is better. http://budget-gaming-computers.com/gaming-cpu-ranking-chart.html
  21. To the OP you left off a few things and I live over 200 miles from a microcenter. That adds $100 to the MB and CPU price, operating system anouther $100 CPU cooler and more case fans as that case only comes with one $50 more now were over $900.
  22. Also do not overclock that CPU unless you get a aftermarket Cooler and i would actually recomend one anyhow as with all CPU's usally their stock cooler is bare min. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
  23. This is just a few $ more and will allow you to add anouther card in xfire if you need it in the future without buying a new PSU 576 true WATTS you will need to use your old power cord or buy a new one it should just pull out of the back of it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031
