  1. That would make more sense lol. But i have seen games where mobs did run away if you were more than a couple levels higher than them.
  2. There is a reason behind not doing adaptive respawns. PROGRAMMING. The programming (and therefore time and money) needed to implement is not something standard in any of biowares games and therefore would require a completely unique set of coding. But adjusting rates for internal map areas since they are treated as separate maps in game should not require too much in fixing.
  3. If you read the post clearly i am fine with high respawns in open areas. It helps get those annoying kill 20 of these or 30 of those. But how is fighting a mission twice in a dungeon area beneficial? And if your doing story missions solo its a lot more than 2-5 minutes getting back out. Especially for some of the larger facilities. And its not about using the quick travel, its about having to wait for it to reset cause ive already had to use it to get out of the last cave. Either lower the spawn rate in interior maps or lower the cooldown for quick travel. As you noted the game is already a grind, i dont want it to be even more of a grind.
  4. I understand the advantages of having rapid respawn rates for mobs in open areas. They work fine for people that like to just run around and grind through levels. Especially if your running into a story mission and you need to level up a level or two to deal with the enemies on it. Just go outside and run through mobs until you get to a comfortable level. Its a staple of rpg games and mmo's. But since the last patch even the mobs inside dungeons (facilities, caves, and interior area) are completely insane. Soon as i get done clearing a room and then get to the next one, after just the first group the room i just cleared has completely respawned. Meaning even after i finish with the objective in there, unless i want to waist a quick travel i have to refight every mob to get back outside and to the next area. I can't even take a breather for my cooldowns to finish without getting hit from behind by a mob i just took out. Is this a bug or intentional. If it is its just plain maddening cause it forces me too waist a quick travel or wait until the cooldown rests to use it.
  5. How much memory do you have? With all the patches and changes in the game it may be needing more memory than it did before. Could also be a memory chip failure, make sure you check each one to be sure they are properly seated on the motherboard and check your system info to be sure its reading all of them.
  6. Please get this straight I AM NOT RECCOMENDING 2 GB OF RAM!!!!!! I am merely stating what i am currently running. If you took the time to read you would see several times i have stated 4gb of ram is reccomended.
  7. Thank you, someone who gets the purpose of my post. The only upgrades i have done was to get a new video card, upgrade to windows 7, and the highest speed socket am2 processor i could find for 50 bucks. I also had to get a hard drive for 50 off ebay but that was only cause my last one crashed not because of the game. I even had to reduce my memory from 4gb to 2 because i found out 2 of the chips didnt match my other ones so they were running at a third of what they are and wasnt using it anyways by running 32bit os. But now that i have gone to 64bit i can get back to 4gb for 20 bucks. As you showed, in most cases you dont need a whole new 600 system to run this game. Often you can get a older system up to spec for under 100 dollars. Many people dont have the money to buy a new system and only need to know what they need to upgrade on their existing system to get it running smoothly. TIPS: If you have a older system from a major vendor (dell, gateway, etc) do a google on the motherboard for your system and find out what socket type of cpu it usesand the max memory and type. Then use ebay or amazon to find the best processor of that type and buy a full set of memory chips to max out the board. Also pull of the side panel and find out what wattage your power supply is as you want at least a 450watt. If you have a system with a onboard video chip, you want to buy a actual video card. (this is not the same as the new southbridge or fusion chips)
  8. you should have more than enough power to run the game with that.
  9. I run windows 7 and i had been running in 32bit so with the 1gb video card i couldnt run more memory but i know run in 62bit version. But i do agree you need 4gb these days to do anything decent. 2gb for the windows beast and 2gb for anything your running. My prob is i have bios issues on my old system that wont let me add more memory over 2gb. And i was only stating what i am running on with a 5 yr old system, any decent store or barebones system now comes with 4gb anyway.
  10. I often see people in need of upgrading their specs to run this game. But often people are telling them specs that go way beyond whats actually needed to run the game decently. So here are some quick facts to get a decent system for under 500. 1. You dont need 8gb of ram or a 200 dollar video card. People are constantly asking for a good basic system and getting reccomendations for massive ram and large video cards you dont need. Unless your running multiple screens you dont need more than 4gb of ram and a single output card with 1gb of ram for a video card. 2. Dont spend more than 500. Unless your using an old box style monitor you can save by getting one without a monitor. And you dont need more than a quad core. Currently i run SWTOR just fine with this layout dual core AMD Athlon II 3.2GHZ 2 mb Ram (runs at 667 mhz in dual channel mode) Geforce GT 430 1gb video card 500 watt power supply (you need at least 450watts if your running a video card) I am currently building a 6core system but this one works just fine for SWTOR and you can find a system on par with this for around 400 in the store. I have minimal lag if any. Or you can get a quad-core system that meets all the reccomended specs from tigerdirect or newegg for around the same price or even cheaper on a special. Just check their barebones kit and put it together. Its simple and to do and there are many vids online to show you how. Tigerdirect has a system right now with 3 cores and 8gb of ram for only 200 after rebates.
  11. To get a comparison screen for your companions gear go to tool tips section in preferences and select enable companion tooltips.
  12. I had constant issues with this playing my consular. But thats the only class i have found with that issue. Usually you just need to switch out for a different companion or level up and come back.
  13. 1- have same issue but ill check settings again to see if its there. 2. usually when people ask for dps in game they are talking about people that can dish out lots of damage vs tanks which are geared toward absorbing lots of damage usually have heavy armor and healing skills to keep them in the game. other terms" lfg =looking for group people looking to jump into a group for doing flashpoints or heroics lfm =looking for member they already have a group but need one or two more people to fill out the group fp =flashpoint
  14. Yes i was severly suprised they didnt have either of the minigames that were such a intergral part to the KOTOR series that this was based on. For the racers they could have entire circuits for either side where you have to beat a set of npc's on each world. And a special track where republic and empire players could race against each other. The same could be done with pazaak. Where you have to beat a series of npc's scattered around the galaxy for credits and crafting supplies. Although i dont see them adding the betting option. Another thing they could do is have special cards and circuits unlockable by playing heroics and flashpoints. I would also love to see the star wars version of chess seen in the game. Not the regular type but the one you see being played on the Melinium Falcon in the original movie. I have seen it in a game before but not sure when or which game.
  15. Its not simply a means of telepathic control. If you pay attention to the residents in the nomoticons (i thinks thats right) its a plaque that facilitates the telepathic control. So its not the mental link but the virus facilitating the link that is killing her. Although she is the only victim that is actually in danger of dying from the link. (i wont go into detail to save you the fun).
