  1. This game was released with missing features bottom line. its largely a single player game with lobby like multiplayer features. not my cup of tea two thirds of my guild quit before lvl cap can barely field our 8 man raids. This is a reroll game its not a true MMO expierence like EQ 2 WOW Rift or even AOC for that matter.
  2. in may is there next investors conference call and they are under legal standards of the law forced to release accurate paying subscription numbers. you will not know until then and they will not opost them here you will have to listen to the investors report to get them.
  3. hahaha but in all seriousness there is a pattern here.
  4. It doubt it killed your power supply. but TOR definately killed my desire to play video games at all that is a definate fact.
  5. Processor: •AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better •Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better Operating System: •Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later RAM: •Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM •Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM. Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include: •ATI X1800 or better •nVidia 7800 or better •Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better DVD-ROM drive – 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play. Those are the system requirements you exceed the minimum in video and CPU try turning off graphic effects until you get accpetable frames. With that said the engine is absloutely horribly optimized . I have a massive gaming system and i get what i consider bad frame rate for my system specs. its very evident in PVP and the fleet. also the chia pet foliage as it pops out of the ground in a 30 yard diameter.
  6. Meters dont make A holes . A Holes make themselves. combat logs are very usefull for theory crafting performance tweaking . Spec experimentation and rotation adjustments. But then again every damn thing is on an enrage timer so its pretty much a given they will be sued for adjusting the DPS.
  7. I agree this system is absloutely the worst food stamp gear system ive ever seen. there is no individuality the set gear means nothing. i feel absloutely zero accomplishment in my columni gear , it looks ridiculous and Rakata is nothing but a few points better making me not even want to continue my guilds raid progression. Itemization in this game is lame.
  8. 2 million in sales but 1.7 active subs by december 31st. you do the math drewser are you drew karpashian? lol . TOR is not a bad game its just not worht the price of a sub its a big single player game with online features, believe me Bro i wanted this game to be a smash, ive been here since 2008 flying the TOR flag and hopting it would be the big competitor. come may we will see the retention rate on the next investor report they are legaly obliged to be absloutely accurate. it will not be 1.7 million by then, will it be more then the 800k i am guessing there is a very good chance sure. But from what ive seen this devolpmnet team lacks alot of expierence with MMO's and are missing the mark severly in design for long term retention.
  9. People are missing the burn off rate . and are underestimating the impact it has on the long term population. by december 31 st over 300 k peole spit this game out like they just ate poo. that 300k will probably never retry SWTOR. Right now if they have 1.7 million subs (which i seriously doubt i think its about half that by this point )then they have way way to many servers . TOR will have a huge bleed. AOC, Aion and War are the top 3 for player burn off in a 6 month period over 50 % loss war was far more then that it lost subs worse then AOC. My guess tor will have 800 k subs by 6 month mark very profitable for them but one of the worst retentions of any release MMO to date. best retention for a sub based mmo recently is Rift.
  10. hes full of non sense . 990x 3.8 6 core win 7 x64 ultimate 8 gigs ram 1 590 GTX 3 gig GPU The game runs great when it does not have to render more then 10 people. You get on the fleet and stand by the medical droid with 20 people standing there and doing nothing and the frames go from 80 to 100 to 20 to 40 FPS its starts its stutter fest struggling to render stationary players. ilum PVP large scale is a friggin joke its almost as bad as original EQ1 fear raids with massive rendering hang up stuttering like a volkswagon bug. Its not a hardware problem its the game, i can play AOC which visualy blows this game away .PVPing in a siege with destructible enviroments 64 people casting and running around, in full DX 10 i might add . and get a steady 60 to 70 FPS. Its insulting for the devolpment team to blame peoples hardware and dodge the question. telling members of the press to upgrade their computers. Its obvious the engine has problems right out of the box we saw problems with the game trying to sync animatons to abilites causing big delays. The UI needing to be reloaded to clear broken miss fires. i have a monster system and this game is very unpredictable in its performance.
  11. Dont try to battle them with logic . we both have been here since 2008 and for one posted my concerns early on with the direction they were taking the game. too bad they wiped the forums we could necro some 2009 threads i am sure you posted some of the same things i did concerning the game devolpment. this is a stripped down MMO, it fits more into a online single player game with multiplayer options. its a very restrictive linear expierence. And the content other then the stories is a extremely bland it all boils down to enrage timers which is very confusing seeing the restrictiveness of group make ups. there is absloutely no variation 2 ranged DPs preferably a tank and a sorc heal. raids are worse 2 heals 1 tank and stackd ranged DPS 8 man or 16 man. Lack of support classes or any type of class varitions makes it worse mirrored class system is just lazy.
  12. They will not. those are out of game logs you have to be out of game to see there will be no real time spec tweaking or rotation modifications. its the most ridiculous excuse for damage logs. we need DPS meeters.
  13. hahaha . yes BW is all about linear corridor RPG's . They have made alot of claims about not wanting to do it because the animations look funky,no day and night because its too hard to seperate time zones for each indviule planet, and no dynamic weather because it would ruin immersion lol. The short answer is the sever problems this game engine has rendering anything thats not bolted to the floor. ive never seen a MMO where the fauna grows like a chia pet 50 yards away . beyond it is the flat tiles its amusing to jump on my speeder and play the chiia pet song.
  14. People are burned out on pure theme park MMO'speriod. and the lack of creative content. TOR is very rudimentary in design i think the MMO genre is stagnant creating quite a vaccum to nothing. if they were burned out they would not be spending their time on the forums complaining and demanding a better product.
  15. the short answer is the engine. the long answer is they had hack coders working on a pre built engine that was used for free MMO's bfore itwas even ready for liscensing. in other words the game directors made some poor decision in TOR concept room. TOR is what it is, its not bad but far from a epic game and long term longevity every thing about it screams mediocrity aside from a few of the story lines.
  16. you are correct in your assertion. the engine cant even render fauna with out a chia pet pop up. They could not get swiming in as the hthe engine has problem rendering animations as it is. Day and night, dynamic weather , swimming and a plethora of enviromental effects. I cannot believe they spent all the time and money on cutscenes and voice actiong and cut out all the open world immersion. this game is not a MMO, not in the way i think of them its a very very fun single player game with online features. not worth 15 bucks amonth though. and defintely not worht 100 million plus price tag.
  17. that is your problem that 8800 gtx requires a 500w PSU by itself if i remember correctly.
  18. true MMO's evolve and everyone gets features added and bug fixes. But this is by far the most stripped down MMO to be released. It is missing quite abit of things that most MMO's launch with. and some of them are small easy things like chat bubbles. this game engine has problems. it cannot handle rendering PC's or fauna correctly, a dynamic weather cycle, chat bubbles, day and night cycles, swimming, and a pleathra of tiny insignifcant things that make a game world feel alive. For what ever reason bioware cannot get those things to work correctly in their engine. TOR is essintaly a giant single player game with online lobby features in its current state. Even really buggy MMO's like AOC launched with a full fledged feature set of a MMO.In all honesty this feels like warhammer all over again which is very sad i had been hoping and waiting for this game since 2008, beta tested 7 months prior to release . Pretty disappointed at the moment i hold no delusion that TOR will crash and bunr and go F2P in 6 months but it will not hold more then 500k subs come next december . this game is a bland multiplayer game with heavy single player game systems.
  19. very possible your card is unstable and ate your PSU. your looking at a new video card in the very least .750 w PSU is plenty for a 8800 gtx. My guess is your card is old and unstable and was the issue in the first place. that happened with my 8600 gt.
  20. youll win no fans here though you are correct.By summer this will be antoher MMO floating at 400 to 500 k subs. . They missed the demographic and made a single player lobby game with online features. it loses its flavor faster then a piece of 10 cent bubble gum.
  21. they made their money back in sales 2 mill x60 and about another 400 k at 150 bucks for collectors box
  22. That does not work on other Jedi. actually i sense a great disturbance in the engine.
  23. 990x 3.8 CPU 6 core. 590 gtx 3 gig video card 8 gigs ram win 7 64x OS. I fail to see how it could be my machine. this is the top end of gaming PC's. It runs other MMO 's that blow TOR out of the water graphicaly maxed with 64 people on the screen at a stable 60 to 80 FPS. I get 12 people in pvp on Ilum and the engine just bogs it turns into a stuttring mess at 20 to 40 FPS with big drops to 10 intemitently. its not my ISP either ive got fios top end package and have run several tests on my line. i go to the fleet and and stand there doing nothing and i get 20 FPS with more then 10 people near me. open my inventory and the game locks up for 2 seconds.
  24. Ive actually resubscribbed to rift and there are a massive influx of resubb threads in their forums. with that said rift is stable it wont see massive groth are a flood of resubs until they launch a full scale expansion. TOR on the other hand is nearing the razors edge and has a massive gap to get this game feeling like a true MMO not a single player lobby game with online features.
  25. This is true statement, but for records sake Rift launched with a full featured MMO. things that Bioware are trying to patch in 4 months out from launch were in rift in the first beta weekend. Lets make no bones about it even fansites that followed this game and spit out pod casts for the hardcore followers of the devolpment are calling Bioware out on things they vehemently deny like engine problems and the like. There are major problems with TOR, even at the guild summit 90% of the people in attendance when asked why they thought bioware was holding the summit. responded because the game is bleeding subscriptions at a massive rate. Fanbois can put their hands over there ears and sing LALALALALA all day long but bioware needs to right this ship realtively quick if they expect to stay competetive and profitable in 2012.
