  1. This is coming from someone with 5 50's geared in mostly or all Blackhole useing the legacy gear to do so. I don't run ops due to work interference but I do run HMs daily and I'm probably the exception when it comes to people gearing up alts with legacy. Well, I dunno how they should do it in the end but I'd have to say it's too easy as is. Just because you did the work on one character shouldn't mean you get a free pass to instantly create geared alts. For everyone that's taking this easy route to do that that's a person not doing it the hard way and not grouping up with people that have to do it the hard way. Take Hardmode Flashpoints as an example with someone mainly interested in running operations. Maybe you've got some Blackhole coms built up. Maybe you craft the mods or buy them. Doesn't matter, the new character you create hits 50 and you transfer those mods to that new character and instantly have something ready to run any operation. That character didn't run a single hardmode FP. That's kind of the big deal when you consider how many people are doing this. Those are people not in the pool to run hardmode flashpoints and that's sort of the problem having this bility creates that can be serious in the long run. They shouldn't remove it but they also shouldn't make gearing up alts too easy because that effects a lot of things. I don't think it's at the point where it's seriously effecting anything but they need to be carefull on how convienent they make things.
  2. I'd agree with it and I currently take advantage of it. It's way too easy currently to gear up a fresh 50. When you do that you're bypassing a lot of content and that doesn't make for a healthy game. The lvl 10 legacy involved isn't a grind either. The only obsticle is getting the mods to transfer and that's not difficult unless you're broke or never run flashpoints or ops. The only problem I see really is when they come out with this expansion and the obvious new tiers of gear that will come with it making the lower stuff matter even less. That and sometimes when you're dealikng with operations you need to gear up something fast to fill a role.
  3. You might as well have WoW stamped on your forehead. It's not a standard game feature nor is it something even remotely needed. Would be nice for fluff but fluff is fluff and should never take priority over actual meaningfull content. You need some fluff for a side attraction but I don't see how a barber would provide hours of entertainment.
  4. Nope, not unless you plan on useing Biochem because a lot of the consumables require a certain amount of skill to use. If you have money or don't care about overgearing your character every 5 levels then you can make it just fine without crafting anything. Money can be made doing quests or selling the occasional decent drop.
  5. You used to be able to make some money but that's pretty much not the case anymore unless you have access to operation level schematics, which 90% of the players do not. If it was an easy way to make money then supply has driven down the prices. Augment kits used to be that way but now you'd easly find 50 pages of them and prices down to like 30K, making it hardly worth the effort. You could go solo a mid level flashpoint or run dailies and probably make more unelss you have an army of dedicated companions. The only real money makers for average people are pretty much rich people twinking alts or selling cartel items. Real money for credits. I agree. The cartel market and the addition of cheap plentifull adapative gear had seriously screwed over crafting and I don't iomagine it will get better. Imagine the day they make things like slicing or underworld trading obsolete. You think it's not a real threat? Ask the people that used to make things like armor, ship parts, color crystals...etc.
  6. They trying to copy Soboba's pod from Episode 1. Which is cool and all but if you refer a subscriber you can get a neat sounding and looking speeder too that every character gets including newly created ones. $18 for something that is for one character is a bit ridiulous but hey, if they're happy with the amount of poeple buying it then who am I to judge.
  7. You underestimate how many peopole aren't confortable with pounding away on half the keyboard without looking. More so people like me in ther 30's or older and didn't grow up with a keyboard and lived their youth before the tech boom. You could train yourself sure but it would take months before you really felt comfortable with it. Anyways, it's easier to get a gaming mouse. On most of them you can bind 6-12 keys which should be enough for your most used abilies(ones that need a twitch reaction) Forget about binding things you wouldn't normally use killing trash in a flashpoint. You can click on the seldom used stuff without losing anything of significance. Use the mouse to turn and look. Make A and D strafe left and right. You shouldn't use the keyboard to turn your character which makes a big difference in PvP. Remove backpeddle totally. You shouldn't find yourself walking backwards. Use that key for something important since you're used to hitting it. Well, some simple things that might help out without having to keybind everything which is just silly.
  8. Go to your character sheet and mouse over your stats to see what things like power, surge, alacrity..etc, do. You can determine what kind of stats your advanced class should be looking at raising.
  9. They must stack endurance a lot in full BH my tanks are like 24k-ish. My augments are usually focused on shield/defense/absorb
  10. I think they might tweak some new HM or make some existing hardmodes nightmare or something with the expansion. But yes, my repeat is Kaon Under Seige in it's probably the most annoying one of all. I think they do have something broken because it often exceeds what you'd except in a random pick even considering a streak of bad luck. With other things that don't work properly it's not a hard thing to consider.
  11. Yes, you have to pre-order now. It's not optional. EVERYONE, or they'll send pipe-hitting EA thugs to your house in the middle of the night. Yes, you have to seriously wonder about people that whine about things that are 100% optional. And there seems to be a neverending supply of these types of people.
  12. It's a game It's $10 It's 100% optional Please, step back and re-evaluate what is imporant to you enough to have a hussy fit over
  13. I don't think that's the case at all. Expertise seems to be added as a seperate stat that doesn't effect the others. Meaning you're not lowering things like you're main stat and endurance just because there's also expertise on it. If you compare them to their PvE counterparts there's almost exactly the same except PvP gear has expertise tacked on.
  14. Forget tanking would be my advice. People expect a tank to know the encounters in advance and to effectively keep mobs off of the DPS and healer. Not to meention it's the most gear dependant role meaning you need to keep on top of gear unlike DPS and healers that are given a little wiggle room. Stay away from Darkness totally and invest in either Madness or Rage and make sure you're queing as damage. Damage is pretty easy. Just have to try to avoid breaking crowd control and kill the weakest mobs first. You'll still need to familiarize yourself with boss fights but don't be afraid to ask if there's anything you should know about the fight. As someone that plays 3 tanks it's perfectly fine with me to explain a fight. In fact I'd rather explain it than have mute people that have never done it before. Maybe later one once you're familiar with the content and can invest in good gear you can try tanking. You can still try now but I wouldn't recommend it.
  15. Well, schools out. There's your problem. Temporary
  16. I have a lvl 50 Assassin and Operative, both sneak. There's no way of boosting it other than your buff. Level matters in relation to the level of the mob vs your level. The higher you are the easier it will be to sneak past undecected. There are also mobs that have increased stealth detection. The more obvious ones are battle droids that drop sensors around them periodically, similiar to players that get the same type of ability. Droids might have a highened ability to detect alltogether I'm nbot sure but it makes sense. There might also be humanoid mobs or creatures a higtened sense. Wouldn't suprise me. Other than being carefull about what you're trying to sneak around you can also pay attention to the cues when a mob is close to detecting you. If you see them react then back off and try again. Use your CC at max range and try to avoid going next to the least amount of mobs possible. Like if you have 4 guys standing at a door side by side don't try to walk though the middle of them, try and CC and walk though the farthest one to the left or right. I also think your companion is figured in seperately too. Too many time have I snuck by but my companion gets detected and attacked putting me in combat but my stealth hasn't been broken and I'm not getting attacked.
  17. Not at all. I use my brain and see the little number up in the left hand corner showing a lot more people and instances filling faster up than previously at all times of the day. Not counting the point that torstatus just calculates whether it's light/standard/heavy , which covers a large theshhold, and not actual numbers. Regardless, if you're a hardheaded hater then I'll use your own finisher against you. http://www.torstatus.net/shards/us/stats . Mind you this is covering a time that is well after the f2p move. Does that look like it's trending down? Granted, I've been out of school a long time but I think a + denotes an increase on every server. . There, I'll make it big and bold so there should be no confusion about whether the game is losing or gaining. Sorry if you want everyone to dislike the game so you can leave but the game is picking up not slowing down,.
  18. This man should be paid to do what he just did for a living
  19. And I've been playing for 8 months with 20-30 hours a week and still being entertained. Opinions are like _______, everyone has them.
  20. Nope. Pops are rising with more people filling up fleet instances and faster than pre-f2p. Seems like every week that goes by it gets more congested.
  21. The high-end armoring requires a specific location if you're pulling it out of something. Like Blackhole head armoring will have a (Head) requirement on it so you couldn't put that armoing on a chest piece. Or vice versa you can't use chest armoring to put in a head slot. I don't fully understand what you're asking so sorry if this isn't the answer. Seems like you might be saying HK doesn't have any head armoring and that I wouldn't know about since I don't own him yet.
  22. Having two tanks and almost a 3rd at 50, plus a healer, I totally agree. There is no t1 HM more annoying than KUS. It's long, it's packed full of annoying mobs, and it's resposible for more group breakups than all of the others combined. Granted most times I run it it's without a hitch but I certainly let out a sigh if Kaon comes up with the group finder. It should be made maybe a tad harder and put next to Lost Island as tier 2 if they might be revamping with the upcoming expansion.
  23. Because they spent $200,000,000 making tthis game and lost probably half of their subs in a year's time. This stuff is 100000% optional and considering I see people constantly opening cartel packs I'd say they have no shortage of people willing to spend money. The only people that should be concerned is BW and whether or not they're happy without the amount selling or if they alienating too many with the prices.
  24. Some suck and don't care like you'd find in any low-end job
