  1. Nah, would be way too fast for new players. Maybe a short-term boost that costs a good amount of credits for old players but not always on.
  2. Well, one problem I see is that it kills lowbie gameplay if a lot of people are doing it. People sitting on Illum powerleveling aren't queing up for flashpoints or warzones or plantetary heroics...etc. That's kind of a big deal for people wanting to level and group up the natural way. My new Shadow tank was sitting in que for places like Hammer Station and Athiss for a good while. Kind of suprising considering I thought FP would be ran a lot during double XP. Now I might know why it did'nt seem any different than any other day. And I seriously doubt BW doesn't care. I don't think they will ban or roll back but people were obviously taking advantage of a loophole that could be borderline exploiting. Just because people are defending it doesn't make it not so. People defend exploints in every single game. Like if it's in there then the devs intended it mentality. Nothing new, same old song.
  3. If it's not an exploit then explain what was being done. I saw people on the fleet advertising for groups to go grind nodes but I didn't take them up on the offer. I've never even done any of the Gree stuff. Too busy with stuff to do daily already.
  4. Yeah, no suprise there's people complaining here but yeah, it was really nice to work on some alts and get crazy XP!
  5. Yeah, there's no perks that apply to planet questing except exploration or class quests turn ins. The only benefit you were getting was like having rest XP always up. Nohing changed when the event was over for you except rest XP started to be consumed again. There would have been better ways to earn XP like Flashpoints or Warzones
  6. Level 50 FP can't be soloed. You can however go back and solo the midrange FP. By the time you vendor everything and pick up credits you can make like 60k a run. You can make about as much running planet dailies but some quests you may need to group up for depending on class and gear.
  7. I don't like the repulblic layout. They've got the GTN and crew skill right smack in the middle of supplies and combat
  8. You can unlock races in the legacy tab. With either credits or cartel coins
  9. So your plan to exhort the GTN prices for XP buffs didn't fall through? Bioware gave people free 1-hour XP boosts and made them bound boohooo:mon_trap: These boards make me lose my faith in humanity. One day people like OP are going to grow up and reproduce.
  10. As a tank I usually ask if someone is new and if we want a fast run. You have to put yourselves in the oither person's shoes though. This game has been out for almost a year and a half. A lot of lvl 50's are aldready established with gear and run HM for the daily quest. Most minor bosses in FP drop crap (on par with Tionese but normally even lessr blue stuff) Do you think this people want to spend that extra time dropping bosses for nothing? Most people are just there to finish the FP and that's why they typically take shortcuts in them. That doesn't mean you can't kill the stuff though. Most of the minor fights are pretty fast. If you mention you'd like to kill something then the group should accomidate. On the flipside though you really need to want something the boss can potentially drop. Not for credits or gearing a companion....etc. I wouldn't be expecting a group to kill everything by default though. You need to speak up.
  11. Opinions are like _________. Everyone has one. For every person you find turned off by the game there's another that loves it. Can't please everyone.
  12. You shouldn't really have to buy anything except for speeder and license and new abilites. Should be able to get by ok with drops or quest rewards. It's tempting to buy things but it's really not neccessary to get by your first time around to 50.
  13. I suspect they'll make them tradeable
  14. I hope so because I don't care for anything on the contraband vendor.
  15. I plan on selling the 24 pack as it. There's really no point in breaking them up. Even if they're 500k per that's only like a 10million listing. There's already plenty of stuff on the GTn that is higher than that and there's certainly people with enough spare credits to buy them.
  16. In the SW:TOR universe people think the CE they bought a year and a half ago should continue to reward them. For most games out there a CE offers a few vanity items you quickly forget about or outlevel and usually a headstart which is why most people buy them in the first place. I don't know if it's just because of my age but we're breeding some really dumb people with excessive entitlement issues. Seriously, where do you people come from?
  17. Yeah they come in +2 or +4 flavors. The ones designed to duo are doable sometimes solo but the +4 stuff not so much
  18. So when the CM came I ended up buying like 30-40 packs over the course of a month or two. Out of all of those packs I only got a couple of items that were worth it at the time for my characters who were mostly lvl 50. I think it was a pink cystal and something else. Anyway, I vowed not to buy any more with my money because it simply wasn't even close to being worth the return on the money I spent. I made some posts here about how they should offer some kind of currency with every pack that you could build up to buy cool things on a vendor or something. And that's exactly what they did and I couldn't be more satisfied other than the fact I don't really care for most of the stuff on the vendor. I imagine there were a lot of people out there like me that found buying packs ended up being a loss with you just getting a inventory full of junk. Think about how much money they make off the CM just selling packs and try to imprint in your brain the fact this game just had to make major changes because it wasn't making enough money. Well, I'm sure it died off quite a bit with people like me giving up on it. Now I have an incentive to buy them again that doesn't throw the game out of whack. I don't care if you don't spend beyond the sub and feel like BW owes you or you'rte entitled to everything via a in-game method(which you still do ahve btw). There was a problem with the way it was and this bone was for people that were persisting though that problem. You didn't throw a fistfull of money at a bunch of packs to get nothing of value in return like I did. This update was for people like me and I appreciate it and I don't particulary like all the self-centered whiners acting like BW owes them as much as they do me paying for a sub and still buying things off the GTN, not counting free coins.
  19. I'll be glad when the entitled self-centered crybabies quiet down. HURR it's a slap in the face Bioware! No, it's not. The people that actually keep this game going got a bone thrown to them because THEY'RE THE PEOPLE KEEPING THE GAME GOING BY SPANDING MONEY ON CARTEL ITEMS. And that doesn't count you and your $14/mon subscription. That's a drop in the bucket compared to the people that spend beyond the subscription. I'm personally not going to buy any packs but I have enough of a functional brain to realize BW needs to take care of the people giving them the largest share of money and common sense says that will alienate people that don't fork over money so this game can continue with the f2p model.
  20. And as I said earlier the entire point of this revolves around NOT being accessible to EVERYONE. It's to entice more people to spend money on cartel packs now that they don't have to throw their money away on duds. You can sling stuff around like "Pay to win" all day long. It's FLUFF. Orange gear, repeat rares from previous packs...etc. A lot of it is already obtainable with credits. There needs to be some things that aren't. That's the point you're missing. It's just HURR DURR I'm a subscriber I'm entitled to everything without paying more than $15 a month. Bioware would disagree and so would I. The cartel market is what's keeping this game going with all the moochers so you'll just have to suck it up and accept that you're not going to get some of this stuff without releasing the deathgrip on the wallet.
  21. I mentioned they should do this months ago. Instead of getting 100% garbage with almost all packs at least give some kind of currency with each pack that can be accumulated to purchase neat things. That's exactly what they did. It's a good and much needed change for people that would back packs if it weren't for the worthelss junk that came in most of them. I couldn't care less what you think you're entitled too because you pay a sub. This is for people that pay beyond the sub and it's 100% cosmetic fluff that effects absolutely nothing of actual gameplay so go cry inthe corner away from everyone else please.
  22. Oh, I understand it. I also understand the need to keep people buying cartel packs since they're probably the people floating this game. If they gave people that don't purchase packs access to the same rewards that would kind of defeat the purpose wouldn't it? Perhaps they could make the item not bound so you could sell it on the GTN although that might be too close to converting cartel coins(real money) to credits if you're guranteed to get one to sell. You have to think about the in-game economy and what it would mean if people were able to that easily make large amounts of credits buy spending a few dollars.
  23. Why should they reward you the same as people that spend beyond their subscription and buy cartel packs so things like f2p can exist?
  24. You guys are missing the point. The sucky part about packs previously was that 99% of them contained junk to the point a lot of people probably stopped buying them, including myself for that very reason. This new thing is just so you're not totally throwing your money away anymore. That's the point. It's a bone for people who were buying packs but turned off because they ended up with nothing of value to show for it. If this isn't you then you're not the person they're targettign with this new rep
  25. Seriously? There's nothing hard about the turret phase as long as people know they should be killing the mobs in their quadrant and shooting the white ranged ones first. If they're new and not piping up for a run down then that's a player problem not a content one. You even get healed over time now so I don't understand why a group would wipe on it unless you find yourself short a person. For the longest time you had to have a healer sit in the middle and heal while you 3 gunned it. The only problem I've even seen in CWG are people that get booted over the edge during the puzzle part. I don't recall ever wiping on the turret phase unless you lose a person in the middle of it.
