  1. The most easy way to determine if DPS doesn't play tanks. They assume I inspect every piece of gear on every member and then further assume that they kill stuff in the proper order and not bang on the strongest stuff while they healer takes the brunt of the lower stuff. It's easier to guard the healer initially and then move it around accordingly. In a PUG that's the best way to roll because nobody knows who you are. And playing a healer as well I can certainly confirm that I end up being the focus of too many mobs a lot of times in a PUG HM.
  2. Yeah, it's double XP not mash the f7 key to become 50. You still need to play the game like normal. Even if it was always double XP it would take a normal person 2-3 week to hit 50. Assuming you don't play TOR for a living. I think somone would generally have a idea of how to play their AC after putting 50-60 hours into it.
  3. Ruels to shoot for to make it easier for the healer. DPS- Kill the lesser mobs first and work your way up to the hardest. They tank can't normally grab hate on everything nd if the mob isn't being attacked they generally start hitting the healer. You don't want a healer having to spend time healing themselves. Also pay attention to nay CC being used and take care not to break it. Tank- Your job is to take hits so you should be equiped to do that. You should have tank oriented gear on(at least ones with endurance being the highest) and try to keep up to date with the quality of your gear. If I can fill up 3/4's of your health with a basic heal or I'm having to do nothing but spam heals on you because you health is dipping too fast then you're failing hard in either the health or defense department. You should also try to generate hate on as many mobs as possible so they're hitting you. The last FP I was in the tank would just run up and start smacking the hardest mob while totally ignoring everything else.
  4. I don't find PvP to be that great. I'd guess que for flashpoitns and run space mission in the meantime with the according perks unlocked. Planet questing would be ok too but you spend time travelling and there's no legacy bonus for killing mobs.
  5. LOL, and the people soon to be butthurt and crying on the boards will be the ones planning to head out to Illum for some more exploiting, er I mean tradional MMO grinding . You know like all MMO's that hike up a lower level player to level cap stats so they can kill max level mobs for full max level mob XP. Oh that's right. There is no game that does that because that would be idiotic. And thanks for reaffirming the fact that the people that hang out on the boards are lazy arse complainers that want everything made easy. As if you can't tell by the theme of every post on the front page and the people high-fiving each other in it.
  6. A person that was really wanting the developer to know why they were leaving would send a email directly to the developer so they would actually you know, see it, and not post a wall of text to be buried on some boards like they're more special than the other people leaving the game. You can form a circle and join hands with the other people that think they special and entitled. There's plenty to find around the boards here. Everyone else is playing and enoying the game.
  7. Well, yeah. I'd say failing to fix a exploit would be a failure. I do care because all of those lazy aholes out powerleveing aren't grouping up with people that want to play legit. Kinda puts a damper on double xp weekend when it's as hard to get groups as it is any other day.
  8. I'm sure there will be a lot of selfish lazy people sad to see it go like with every exploit. And yes, it was a exploit. BW just doesn't call it that because they would have to punish as was confirmed by the same dev the OP list quoting. They just swept it under the rug. Consider yourself fortunant you got a weekend of it but actually asking that it remain? Mind = blown there's people like this walking around the real world and making decisions that might effect others.
  9. I'm sure amny many people have tried to attack it solo including myself.
  10. When I was running all 3 planet dailies I was making like 350k or so and it took about a hour and a half or two hours depending on how fast I could group up for the stuff I couldn't solo. That not counting Section X or the Gree stuff because they didn't exist when I ran them. That is counting all quests though including the Heroics. I just do the weekly stuff now so I can't compare how much you can make doing all planet dailies.
  11. There's lots of peole in the US can't even calculate their time in relation to the other 3 time zones when it's just as simple as adding or subtracting 1-3. I wouldn't hold much hope on people learning GMT. But yeah I guess there's no enough Oceanic subscribers to do things seperately. They just do it during the deadest US times all at once.
  12. LOL I'll be glad when these blockheads move on to something else. This is just today's thread from someone that fails to see they can buy cartel items with credits. Even reputation and certs. There is NO item related to the cartel market or it's repuation that requires you buy cartel coins. And no you don't deserve to get everything you want with a minimal amount of effort just because you're a subscriber. You have unrestricted access to the actual full game and like every other MMORPG in existence that is what you're paying a monthly fee for. There sure are a weird people with a overabundance of enitlement issues that play this game.
  13. Really? You guys are used to games that reward CE and pre-orders indefinitely? They may have goofed in saying they would reward these people but I'd treat it like any other game where the the bonuses are fluff that are forgotten about quickly or outleveld. I've played almost all of them and I can't think of a game where I was standing there with my hands out a year + into it.
  14. It's just story fluff. It has no real impact on the game or your progression. The only way it can become annoying is if it goes against your companions likes and dislikes but it can be fixed with affection consumables.
  15. You're already able to buy everything You're already able to buy everything You're already able to buy everything There's is nothing in this game that isn't accessible to everyone unless you count vanity stuff they just offer new players like the droid pet. You want cartel rep but don't want o spend money on coins? You buy a pack off the GTN. Open it up. BAM, you have a item you can consume for reputation and a chance at getting a certificate. The same as people that are purchasing the bag for themselves. You mean you want to have a simple daily quest or something and have rep consumables raining down on you from practiaclly no effort? Of course you do because it's lazy and quick but like some people learn the hard way most things in MMO's aren't quick or for lazy whiney types. You'll have to suck it up and use alternatives if the choice is buying cartel coins or eating. Regardless, there's is nothing only obtainable by buying cartel coins. The system is fine. It's just the instant gratification entitled crowd doing what they do best, complain about difficulty. The cartel rep is supposed to be hard because you can use it to flatout buy the rarest items off of a vendor.
  16. The numbers seem fine. The MVP's not so much
  17. Your problem is you want it now. That's a big problem with a lot of people. They just added this thing into the game with a LOT of reputation required. Obviously if you want max rep now you're looking at spending hundreds of dollars at once or paying huge amounts of credits buying packs off of the GTN. If you look at it as something that progreses over the months it doesn't sound so bad. $20/week would be enough for you to have max rep by Summer and by then they may have alernatives to getting rep faster not to mention more rewards. Or you could dump credits on those packs. They're down to like <300k already which isn't that hard to get running dailies or crafting. Or you could just ignore it like a lot of people as there's not a single thing on it that's not cosmetic fluff. I'm personally glad they added it the first place even though I don't really care for the repuation gear looks. My problem with the previous way was that you mostly go junk in packs and that was it, you just threw money away. I was turned off from buying packs because of this. At least now if you buy packs you can eventually get some neat things even if it still has crap in it. It's good for people who were already buying picks which are the people this rep was aimed at obviously. People that weren't buying packs but still feel the need to have all of the cool toys will have a problem with this but regardless it was a change that was very much needed.
  18. Well it's good you're leaving because you just described the entire MMORPG genre so I'll save you from looking for something that fits. That's like playing a FPS and then crying because all you do is run all over the same maps and blow stuff up. Don't expect the game to bend for people not willing to put a little work into it.
  19. The rep vendor sells stuff can be bought off the GTN with the exception of the custom armor. The packs can be sold on the GTN and will yeild you the rep and currency to get it regardless. Just because you DON'T WANT TO isn't Bioware's problem. There's nothing in this game that's only obtainable by spending real money beyond the sub. Case closed. Another mindless person that wants everything now now now now QQ
  20. 20% defense 50% sheild 50% absorb is a good rule of thumb. After that you can dump in fortitude.
  21. So, I guess it wasn't their intention to have bolstered low levels endlessly grinding on lvl 50 mobs afterall? What a suprise! Unless you happened to have some common sense. Maybe the people defending it and acting l**** BW did this on purpose will eat a little crow but I have a feeling they won't be phased one bit. Maybe they'll find something else to exploit by Friday so everyone can bypass the planet heroics, flashpoints, warzones...etc, so all the new players and people on alts looking to do things legit won't have anything to do but planet quest.
  22. You're the second person I've ran into this morning that had common sense. I'm hoping it's a growing trend.
  23. I'm glad there's at least one person around here with common sense. When you're speed leveling to 50 in Illum your not grouping up for the 1-49 content. The flashpoints, the warzones, the planetary heroics..etc. Yes, people that have already leveld to 50 in the game dread doing some of that stuff , I've got 5 50's and working on another, but games rely on people making alts and doing these things. There's no enough new people coming into the game to keep it actively healthy alone. I don't expect the same kind of people that whine about leveling, traveling, credit sinks...etc, to understand or care but having such a thing in the game does seriously effect the game. It's obvious to anyone with half a brain that BW wasn't intendeding on bolstering level ones to do level 50 content. I don't knw of they intend on letting it slide because it's just a short-term thing though but you can count on having way too many people in this spot if it's there come this weekend. There were hundreds when it wasn't widely known but now most people are hearing about it. I think the problem will correct itself and hopefully it doesn't take the servers down in the prcoess because your harmless little powerleveling will be the focus of wrath for a lot of very very pissed off people.
  24. Yeah, I've got 5 50's and working on a 6th and I understand as I skip a lot of plent stuff but having a option like this is ridiculous because people go to the point of least resistence. It's not just a particular set of people, there were hundreds out there. Meanwhile my new tank character is sitting in que for a FP like it's any other day of the week and not double XP weekend. That kind of stuff is not good at all.
  25. I like how people are ignoring the good points people bring up against it . It's just "HURRR it doesn't effect anyone !". Well, the problem is it does effect the game. When you zip from 1-50 on Illum there's something you're NOT doing. You're not grouping up for 1-49 flashpoints, warzones, planetery heroics. You know that stuff you probably did the first time around? Yeah, people still look to do that, especially new players and this game somewhat depends someone on people making alts to keep the lowgame healthy. The people high-fiving each other over comments for leveling to 50 in a day are also the people that whine about the leveling process and don't understand why it's there in the first place, ie....people without common sense. Keep that in mind.
