  1. I agree with you OP. The class quests are fantastic. Most of the main planet storyline quests aren't bad either. The side quests are very repetitive, and get grindy very, very quickly. My leveling partner and I have been doing all of them on our mains for the sake of completionism, but on our alts, we have been skipping pretty much all the side quests. All those heroic quests are more fun if you're the same level or lower anyways.
  2. Indeed. If they deliver on this and the UI improvements as promised, they've got my money secured for the time being. I'm willing to be quite patient for almost any other issue or missing feature.
  3. He didn't say that, he said that pro gamers are a great resource for devs to utilize. All the input from high level players is part of why WoW has been as successful as it is. A large part of the original design team were about as "pro" as you could get at MMOs back then, coming from some of the most successful EQ hardcore raiding guilds.
  4. That is unquestionably part of it. Test the severity of your delay in a very busy area like the fleet vs somewhere like your ship. Even better, run something that will fully task your processor, and set TOR's priority to low, starving it of processing power. Test ability delay. It's definitely part of the problem. Apparently you missed the other two thirds of the statement, and missed the statement that this particular source of delay was not limited solely to PvP combat, nor was it limited solely to crappy CPUs, only that its severity varied significantly and that those were two contributing factors. That most certainly aligns with my observations, and the observations of others. Many people have stated that there is a big difference between their craptops and their PCs.
  5. I feel like they took beta for granted, but if they deliver on their promises in the coming month or two, they've got my business for the foreseeable future. If they can implement good UI customization and fix the ability delay/combat clunkyness issues quickly, I'm willing to give them far more time to "fill in the blanks" on the rest of the feature that I want. Those are my biggest two, though a better buff/debuff interface is also WAY up there. I LOVE my darkness assassin, but staring at those tiny icons kinda sucks. Hopefully that's something that's included. Bottom line, I find their response satisfactory, though not ideal, and if they can follow through on the timetable they gave, they'll keep getting my money while they improve the game. Combat quality should be near the top of the priority list, and this response makes me think that it will be going forward. I'm more than willing to forgive them blowing it a bit with beta testing on this issue if it's rectified quickly, and it looks like it (knock on wood) will be.
  6. This is a good, well structured update. You tell us very concisely and specifically a few issues you've identified that contribute to the problem, and gave us a rough time table on getting them fixed. This issue was one of the bug ones determining whether or not you'd have me as a long term customer, and while I think you could have been more open than you have been in general, this response is satisfactory. I look forward to seeing these improvements in action!
  7. Just read the update. Glad to see some specifics, some substance, and a (rough) timetable. That's the sort of thing that will keep me a paying customer.
  8. It is worlds worse on my Jugg than any other character I've tried.
  9. With the number of credits already in the economy, how could you POSSIBLY describe slicing as "flooding"? The contribution of slicing to the expansion of the money supply is negligible at this point in time. What's more, given that most expenses players face while leveling up are fixed, inflation isn't really a bad thing. It makes it easier for new players and old payers alike to afford things that they want. If gathering becomes a better way of raising funds than grinding for credits (like it is in pretty much every other MMO), it also results in lower prices for everyone on raw mats and crafted goods, since it increases competition. Other than trivializing repair costs, and making some content (like space missions) obsolete as a money maker, there are very few disadvantages to inflation in an MMO's economy.
  10. 70k is not a significant amount of money, and a HIGHLY doubt you earned 70k over the course of yesterday at level 24, when you have two companions. T5 missions were yield 1.5-2k profit. That'd take about 8 hours and 45 minutes, assuming you kept both companions running 100% of the time, never failed, and got reasonably lucky with yield. If you did, I don't see why making 70k over 9 hours, and giving up 50% of your character's combat effectiveness to do it is even remotely unbalanced.
  11. Do you feel the same way about the space missions that yield significantly more credits/minute than slicing ever did?
  12. I don't understand that panda hate, or any of the hate for announced MoP features, really. They were all pulled directly from very frequent player requests. I think people are just looking for a reason to hate, TBH, it's not like you're forced to play a panda or play wowkemon. I haven't been playing WoW much other than to raid lately, but I know that feel OP. This game makes me appreciate how well Blizzard does combat.

    Is RE broke?

I obtained the epic level 47 force wielder armoring on my second re of a blue today. They didn't break it, just luck.
  14. If that's the case, why do my bioanalysis missions yield 20k+ credits worth of mats each?
  15. I think you're confused. They (along with me, and many other people) want the CAMERA to be able to look in any direction while moving (like every other MMO every made). They do not want characters to be able to shoot behind them.
  16. Not surprised to see combat issues at the top of the list. I hope BW takes note.
  17. I like all the stories thus far. My latest alt is a LS SW, and I'm LOVING it. I leveled my DS SI with a DS SW, and the story really takes some dramatically different turns if you go LS vs DS, it seems.
  18. The Aratech Scythe features reduced chance to be dismounted. I'd go for that one.
  19. I think I'm going to follow your lead, and have an alt slice for missions, and go with a more useful skill on my main. Seems to be a good way to do it.
  20. I gotta say, I never thought a company would make me appreciate BLIZZARD'S customer service :-p After a couple robo-answered tickets, and the almost complete and total lack of developer posting on these boards, Blizzard suddenly looks pretty damn good, heh. My hand has been hovering over the "unlearn" button for slicing for quite a while now. The thing is, I KNOW they'll buff it again as soon as I unlearn it, though I logically know I'll be making more money with UWT anyways, and since it's only a mission skill and not a crafting skill, it's not like I'd be losing any worthwhile recipes or anything.
  21. If you already have those two leveled, you might make some money selling mats. When in doubt, gifts always sell well.
  22. Good post. My biggest complaints do not revolve around new content being released while old stuff is broken, or anything silly like that, and I don't think I hold the devs to unreasonable standards.
  23. Probably about 5 mil over all of my characters. My main is level 47, and I have a couple alts in the 20s. I play pretty casually. Main is 400 biochem/400 bioanalysis/400 slicing. I have 400 cybertech, 400 diplomacy, and a few 200-350ish UWT on other alts. I'd say the vast, vast majority of my money comes from selling bioanalysis mats. I was making good money selling implants too, but I'm too lazy to mail tons of stuff around to post more auctions. I mostly just post bioanalysis mats, and missions that I think will sell well on my main. I make decent money on the other chracter selling gifts and mats. Posting gifts up cheap enough to make a 50-100% profit on my missions at the end of the day usually results in the lot of them selling overnight, and me waking up to 50-100k in each of their mailboxes. I just finished power leveling cybertech to 400, and learned the level 47 and 49 epic force wielder armoring. I figure I'll probably drop another half mil on that character to learn all the good recipes, and then turn a profit on that skill. Epic mods/armoring (especially armoring) and sometimes even blues seem to sell well at pretty much all levels. My Jugg has 200ish snythweaving, and I'd say I make another 40k a day or so on him selling oranges.
  24. An economy where money can be created at will by anyone in large quantities for flying around on a spaceship for a few minutes is not even remotely comparable to an economy with a fiat currency controlled by a central bank. You might want to take your own advice there. Unlike most economies in the real world, every single person in the game has very direct control over the money supply...
  25. Ehh, I'm just kinda fed up with the profession. I think I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and just drop it for UWT, since Andronikos gets a bonus there too.
