  1. EA will be very lucky to see that many subs period, let alone that many subs from apple users... In all my years of playing WoW, I've known TWO people out of HUNDREDS I've befriended that played on Macs, and one of them only played on the Mac he had at work, and used a PC at home. I don't see how you think over 6 million mac users would suddenly sub if a native mac client was released. It would honestly shock me if more than a few hundred thousand wow users were exclusively using the mac client. Macs are usually used for: a. Looking cool while gabbing on facebook. or b. Doing serious work with programs not available on PCs. Most people in group "b" that are gamers are likely knowledgeable enough about computers that they'd spend $800 to build a PC much better for gaming than their Apple rather than screw around on the machine they use for their lively-hood. Most people in group "a" probably don't play games. People with macs that want to game who are unwilling to install bootcamp are a tiny, tiny market. If EA wants to spend resources on them, that's fine, but I'd rather they didn't if it would take anything at all away from developing more important things in this early stage of the game.
  2. Yeah, I feel bad for all the folks that made typos and such. I'm glad I read how the legacy naming thing worked on the forums before doing it, because in-game info is nonexistent.
  3. I just run it once for the daily bonus (you can get it about 20 seconds in), and then run it again to complete the actual mission. You have 4 torpedoes total, that number counter is displaying the number current in your magazine. The icon is purple when one of them is chambered, then grey when one is not.
  4. My actual ticket was about three paragraphs long. A bonus series meta-quest was deleted from my log during a patch, and upon picking it back up, I only received credit for one of the quests I had already completed towards the meta. I was unable to pick up the one I was not given credit for again. It isn't some sort of coding bug that I expect the GM to fix. I do expect the GM to either give me credit for quest completion, or allow me to perform the quest again, like they have under similar circumstances in other MMOs I've played.
  5. I put in a ticket about a broken quest on one of my alts, and I got a copypasta response about checking future patch notes for a resolution. Based on my ticket and the response, I'm 95% sure a human being never even read it. It is worth filing another ticket to try to get a broken quest fixed, or will I just get another irrelevant robo-response?
  6. Here is a demonstration of SCT lag. Vicious Slash is an especially bad culprit. If you look at target HP bars, it often deals damage as much as a second before SCT indicates the damage happening. The "stutter" bug with retaliation is also seen near the end of the video.
  7. Typo there, I meant "are not" instead of "are". I've played WoW since it released, and raided seriously in vanilla, and more casually ever since. I'd kill to have combat that polished in this game. One thing I want to say, is that a lot of people have criticized WoW's animations, some even claiming that they are out of sync with damage done. That is ABSOLUTELY NOT the case. WoW's animations very consistently provide absolutely superb feedback to the player. I have to spend a lot more time looking at my action bars and buffs/debuff in this game than I do in WoW, simply because some of that feedback is missing. Rather than being able to watch my character's animation to know whether or not abilities have worked properly, I have to look at his action bars, and buff/debuff bars. I definitely can be fixed. No one is asking for animations to be removed, or made irrelevant. In fact, I think they should be made MORE relevant to combat than they currently are. At the moment, sounds and animations do not provide good feedback to the player in most cases, which is definitely a contributor to the feeling of clunky gameplay, and something that should be high up on the list after technical issues causing responsiveness problems (delay, abilities not firing, cast bars being wrong, GCD being wrong, "stuttering" causing abilities to fail, "effect condition failed", etc) are rectified.
  8. I agree. Animations still need a lot of work. I was just demonstrating that animations are not prioritized over ability execution in this case. I think a lot of the residual clunky feeling at this point is the result of poor animation/SCT/sound feedback to the player.
  9. I personally have not had good luck with Razer products in terms of durability, so I'd be cautious about buying.
  10. Ohhhh, I see, do you not have the EMP or the invulnerability shield dealie? If so, I could how Aetan could be tough. I'd think you could get through the others just fine without them though, but I could see the mines being a PITA on barrier maybe.
  11. I think you just suck at this, tbh.:-p More likely you're missing something pretty basic. Do you understand how the power conversion module works? Are you using your EMP and EWP at good times? Do you know that you can shoot blasters and missiles at the same time? Do you know that you can lock missiles on multiple targets? Do you know that your blasters will keep shooting as long as you hold down the button? Do you know that your shields won't recharge while your blasters are firing. Sullust should be an absolute joke with that level of equipment. I can't speak to the others, because I gather my Star Fox skills let me handle them more easily than most people did, but I can't imagine Sullust being even remotely challenging with all that purple stuff.
  12. There are several more fixes pending, and I believe it was specifically stated that CD errors, GCD errors, and abilities not firing were not patched in this little mini-fix that was deployed this week, and that cast bar accuracy was also going to be improved further in a future fix.
  13. This problem is not universal. I made videos WEEKS ago on my Sith sorc showing force lightning doing damage to a target before the lightning strike animation finished, and it still does work that way. In fact, it does several ticks before the animation even starts. As you can see, this was a few weeks ago, before yesterday's fix was even live. I think you're having a problem I'm not, or you're confusing animations with damage.
  14. If server pops are consistently low, then merge away, but be careful. The lowest I ever see fleet get on my server is around 60 (currently 131 at 145am), and it's usually over 250. Plenty crowded here, and opening up free character migration to higher pop servers might cause issues for those of us (and I think the majority of us) that do play on servers with a large number of players already.
  15. Just as true as all Alliance being annoying kids in Vanilla, and all Horde being annoying kids in WOTLK on.
  16. 80C? I think something is wrong with your GPU if it ran into issues at only 80C. Bad overclock? Also, why is it even getting that hot at full load? At 100% load, my card (Vapor-X 5870, slightly OCed beyond the factory OC) generally doesn't get above the mid 50s. I think your cooling may be inadequate. What case are you using? What kind of fans? How many? How are they set up? If your system can't keep your card cool enough at 100% load, it's really not bioware's fault. It's also not their fault that your card died at such relatively low temperatures, something else was probably going on. That said, the game is terribly optimized, and really runs like crap and chews up a ridiculous amount of GPU power given how awful it looks. EDIT: I actually really like the art style of the game. These are just not high end graphics by 2012 standards... or 2008 standards for that matter.
  17. Depends on the planet. I certainly do on the godawful horrible grindy ones like Balmorra and Nar Shada. I rather like Tatooine, so I do it all. Most of the side quests are extremely repetitive and grindy, even a lot of the dialogue is recycle after the first few planet, so there's really no point in doing them after you've seen them once. They need to do a better job on future content of making the story quests bigger and better, instead of throwing in little grindy side quests as filler. In that other game, almost every single quest ties in to the overarching zone story, and most manage to do so without feeling grindy. The story quests are quite good in this game, but the sidequests feel like they were taken out of that other game 5 years ago, instead of the 12 months ago that they should have been.
  18. This is the reputation the Horde earned in Vanilla WoW (all the bad kiddies want to be pretty little heroes, the REAL player want to fight for the underdog), and I think it's part of what helped them eventually become the dominant faction.
  19. I don't remember it being tricky. Interupt-->knockback-->stun-->interupt seems to be a good way to handle the caster class quest bosses, they rarely even require a pot if done that way.
  20. Frankly TOR is just terribly optimized. The shadows suck up way too many system resources given how terrible they look.
  21. An OCed 5870. Rest of my system is decent too. It's very rare for me to drop below 80 FPS normally, forget about the 30-40 I've seen at some points today. It's odd, because initially I saw increased performance. It seems to have degraded as the day has gone on. Not even CLOSE to running out of memory or processing power either, and only at ~60% GPU load too...
  22. I've noticed performance degradation over time today. I'm down under 50FPS now, which is VERY odd.
  23. Of course it's still there. I posted a video where I timed it. I'm simply demonstrating that any delay on the agent/smuggler GTAOE is far from "unplayable", unless someone else is experiencing the issue to a much greater degree than I am. A tenth of a second is not unplayable, the first casting bar doesn't even fade before the next begins.
  24. No issues here. The ground target reticle disappears when the channel finishes, which is annoying, but it you press your hotkey and click quickly, I have no issues chaining it back to back to back. Not as easy to do as with wow because of the stupid selector grid disappearing, but not indicative of delay.
  25. Depends on how you define each of the two. Does killing a very hard raid boss require more skill crushing a PUG in your premade group with vastly superior skill? Does competing at the gladiator level require more skill than owning easy content that you vastly outgear? The amount of skill PvP requires largely scales with your opponent, class balance, and relative gear levels. The amount of skill PvE requires largely scales with how much skill the game developer wants it to take. Currently, there are less than 2000 people in the world skilled enough to beat the most difficult fight in WoW.
