  1. In the past I have seen a planetary cutscenes kinda overlay each other when taking off from fleet. Kinda like the take off and planet landing try to play at the same time. But this has not happened in a long time. Cant remember last time I saw it. I could be last year. I have seen the voidstar ship fly into same space as other ship. But have not in a months, but I normally spacebar.
  2. Macros are against the TOS. If you want them to allow macros ...well....
  3. lol what? you still here forum pvping to try and get bioware to change the TOS? ok then good luck. but your going to need a bigger gun.
  4. you started that, so it cuts both ways. Macro's are against TOS. it is not a matter of development. It is a choice they are making. Don't like that, fine. But unless they change their stance on TOS you will not see this. Just FYI. I agree, don't see the need for it. More risk, less reward.
  5. Thanks to all veterans. Your service and sacrifice are appreciated and not forgotten.
  6. LOL, thanks for the help to you both
  7. is that a good or bad thing...cause, these days, i never really know.
  8. nda are used by nearly all game makers in beta...why...the company point of view is actually the one to understand. totally get this. any interested party would. And if all players understood what they saw may or may not be final implementation, not dismiss or prejudge the product then perhaps it might be. PR department would probably like the buzz. But that is so far from reality even on mostly non-confrontation points, that ...well...nda exist.
  9. If I were Bioware - I would measure success on ROI. As a consumer, I measure it on do I want to play the game and when I do, do I have fun doing it. (that basically wraps up all the content measures such as - do I like toon, skills, content, grouping, etc) A lot of interesting replies. Good thread.
  10. Good stuff here. My first point was only that what the OP was told is right. It would be unlikely (not impossible of course) that a bug submitted a week ago would make it to the release point the next week. Sprints are typically longer than that. Then it still needs time through the migration to prod process (whatever that is for bioware) There is no way anyone could "know" the answer to those questions, and in fact they really were not phrased as questions more like opinions/statements wrapped in a question. But that is really pretty obvious to me and I suspect to you as well. Don't like the rate bioware fixes bugs....no problem, understand and certainly yours or anyone's right to weigh in. However, I took Malastare's comment as trying to keep it "real" which is where I come from as well. There is an actual professional business model here. As was said earlier, if you think it interests you and you can add to the field, join it. It needs good people.
  11. you got this name calling thing down. Mine is Software development program management. Thus I approved of his comment. edited to say, but feel free to think whatever you want of course.....
  12. \ You sir or ma'am are way to rational to post here. How did you get in here.
  13. You actually got a better answer than your post deserved, just not one you wanted so you called him a troll. However, by all means feel free to carry on with your rant. Your welcome on bumping your obvious troll post.
  14. just go to bioware career page - search austin. its there.
  15. Agree with OP but expanded to include all the interaction currently ongoing. I hope it continues. There seems to be a gradual shift in the forums making them more constructive overall. This includes player feedback as well as mod responses.
  16. Nerf Phillip. He is clearly OP Thanks for the security tips Phillip.
  17. The reasons they are doing this was stated. Blizzard has lots of backend validation including delays on cc purchases. Lots of valid methods each with risks and strengths. This is a good approach for helping people that may not realize all the dangers. You dont seriously think this is less secure do you? If i am not mistaken you can log on with the account name now. But you are certainly entitled to your roll eyes opinion. Stay in a holiday inn last night?
  18. The mmo became mainstream. So they need a means to insulate themselves from the jump to the next game attitude most gamers have. This model allows them to capture dollars on a regular basis from subbers and non subbers. There is some math behind this i dont fully understand but your right in what you say. It is something that games are designed with options to opt out of content (albiet repeatables, dailies, etc)
  19. To a certain extent probably so. It really depends on the definition of p2w. (Yes not on topic so i hope we csn just agree it is not the same definition for many players. ). Lotro does not p2w yet they absolutely allow you to pay to avoid big game induced grinds so you can win. Trading time for money is really a careful line to tread. I could easily see them do the same here though it is not there yet. Reputation bonuses scrolls are one of lotro's biggest sellers fwiw.
  20. I believe this is how all mmo's will be. A big provider like EA should be able to leverage their infrastructure to keep the fixed costs contained to a slow growth. Digital sales takes a retail cut out of the equation. Point purchases are likely predictable and trendable based on existing account info. In other words i think they know pretty much how much they will make now and approximately 6 mos from now. I just dont think companies are willing to wait 1 yr or so between large capital infusions. I think this model produces user sales at higher frequency. I also think ftp was always the plan. It is a large transition and to get it done in the time they did they i beleive they had the user stories already planned and proiritzed. I agree the sub only model is probably the exception not the rule going forward. However i also think a disciplined spender could play more games for less money than before. Now a got to have it now in all games spender is going to be a company favorite and will pay more. Maybe a lot more. Are u sure you really want to leave? . Devil you know and all.
  21. This may not exist on a large scale project. Venture capital is tight now. WoW is like it is because market research showed it would generate an acceptable rate of return. Any new product will have to show it can as well. Capital providers are risk adverse now. (More than usual) I suspect most new games will be build around multiple revenue streams. This means "new" will probably not be that new. I think i read you cancelled your sub. If your not having fun i get that. However i always like reading your take whether i agree or not. I really hope you stick around but best of luck gaming in the future.
  22. Varies based on the "view" by system architect but We use: Release Version- typically a new feature / architecture change Release Update- typically new features within existing architecture Release Maintenance- typically bug fix I just released an internal update to a work system and it is 2.5.11 We are testing on 3.0.3
  23. You really dont know that is fact. You assume or want to believe. Lots of complaints but very little actionable info. It would be nice to see repair costs with info on level of shell and level of armor, mod, enhancement, augment. Another thread mentioned seeing different costs based on lev of the shell with similiar level slot gear. Which opens up some possible reasons for the wide difference in experience. I dont know if i will have ay time before sunday but if i do i can test that. If someone else has please post.
  24. Irony- complaining about the fear of a long login queue for a "failing" game. Or maybe its just me.
