  1. Did you see the part in the stream about gathering changes. If you have 500 skill, go to a low level node and you will gather MANY more mats from the nod. Bottom line, Gathering will be shortened in time (or you will get a lot more) Again watch the stream. Musco was in a new 60 with starter gear and a companion with no influence. He took basically no damage. The greenies will fall like dominoes to (your spoiler) Another consideration is new folks to the game that start at lvl 60. They can come back and do some planetside heroics or exploration quests and still get comms and drops. A person running through one-shot'ing the mobs is a hindrance to that. Not trying to talk you down. Just adding somethings to consider.
  2. Yes we do. But feel free to worry about it if you want. (Hint - it is a reverse bolster system) Look to that to see how it works. I really think you are over thinking it.
  3. ah no. Watch the livestream. He talks and shows you. Your gear is part of the reason you are still so OP after the scale.
  4. Eric plainly stated while playing, your were still going to be plenty powerful as a solo and companion. He took basically no damage. There is daily and weekly comm missions for completing them with transport right to the heroic. Since they are offering transport to the zone, bet the sync gets the level right. Was kinda Meh on it before, but it is growing on me. And pulling out a combat companion (pet type) and running heroics actually starting to sound fun.
  5. Did you watch the livestream? If not go back and look at him wiping out the mobs. The level sync is not a big deal. Much about nothing. You are still way OP.
  6. OP Thank you for your service and i wish you health and happiness. You earned it.
  7. Nope, not at all, just summarized your post. However, I usually like your posts and that seemed out of character. Probably should not have said anything, but really wanted to see how you responded. Glad to know that is not really how you feel. Perhaps I read you post too literally. Cheers.
  8. So anyone not agreeing with the OP is ignorant, intolerant, lazy and uninformed. Did I miss anything?
  9. Perfect decision no, people are not perfect so perfect decisions are a high bar. Succeeds on merits, yup that is what I said. I get you don't like it, That is fine. But they have a business case. Good bet the push back they have rec'd was considered in that case. Seems pointless to argue specifics on metrics you nor I will ever see.
  10. Well actually displaying a little confirmation bias yourself. You can argue with metrics all you want, but its pointless. You don't know what that even means to Bioware. If you really believe they have quantifable evidence new raids would earn them more money than what they are doing now (building the scaling tech and KOTFE) and not doing it just cause....Your only kidding yourself. That is not how business works.
  11. This is all true from your perspective. However, the effectiveness of communication is the responsibility of the communicator. So if your not getting your point across, your first step is to look at you. Then you can look at the other person.
  12. Yikes he did, bad reading on my part. Good Luck OP.
  13. or it may be possible they know that there is a limited window of "hype", so they are waiting until that timeframe to ensure maximum "hype" leading up to the expansion. (another possible answer - however, I am not a marketing guy so what do I know)
  14. It might be time to hit your map and change to another instance of Tython if it is that bad.
  15. Lol, nice. Actually in my day to day, we use SOAP for CICS. No idea how swtor environment is built, but I am sure they have an ROI on each feature they are building. So got to be some long term benefit with the work being done.
  16. What if changing the stat results in 3 other teams saving 20% design time in the future? Your are taking too narrow a view. Additionally teams have areas of focus. For instance, I imagine there is a very large "middleware" or translation component to the back end of this game. Those numbers are a big part of that. Those resources are not the same folks that build levels. So don't ask em too. They can't at this level. Could you say don't do the work, sure. Could you get rid of the resource and then hire another to do end game instances....I guess so, but that would be foolish. Like it or not, this is a business and not a small effort. If you think you know how this works, ok but your arguments are rooted in the belief code is like bricks and developers, BA's and QA are bricklayers. That displays a fundamental misunderstanding of how this works in the real world.
  17. I craft a great deal and sell many items on the AH. I get what you are saying. You want advance info so you can get a jump on the system. Cool beans. Would love to have it as well. We will get it when we get it. But you are wanting to make sure you give yourself as much of an advantage as possible. perhaps Bioware is trying to avoid that. Now to top tier mats being worthless, you don't really believe that do you. A conversion will always take place if mats are removed. But I have not seen anything about mats being removed. Just about how they are collected. Again, you are asking for advance look. And I am not trying to stop you. Ask away. But I am sure bioware has a schedule and unless you talk them into a new one, that is what it is going to be.....no use getting all worked up.
  18. You are tossing labels as well. BTW. With all software releases, there is a schedule for release of info. Game and business. You should know being a customer does not cover early release of upcoming product info. You may want it, but the only folks that can demand it are team members and sponsors responsible for delivery and cost. Pick a business, when a new product roles out that changes items, the info comes out on their schedule. usually for a good reason. Now with that said, you may certainly want the information now. Totally get that. Ask for it, stomp your feet and hold your breath if it makes you feel better. (or just write a post on the forums ) But understand what you are asking for is early release of new product information.
  19. Good reply. LOTRO did the same thing. They built instance scaling tech which sidelined new group content for a while. Even a none technical MMO player should be able to figure out this had to be done prior to building new instances. But common sense seems to be in short demand. If the complaint was this should already be done, then he would have more of a point. But that is not the complaint.
  20. My guess as to why is they are creating scaling tech for all instances and they designed it for Story and Hard mode only.
  21. Prepare to be pleased next year. They have already stated multiple times it is in process. Creating a scaling mechanism, which is coming out with the expansion is some form of group content and creates a back end system to more easily build group content in the future. If your fears were valid, they would not do that. So word game all you want, but they have told you what and why they are following this path. You know, kinda like communication. And it is not BW/EA fault you are not listening. Feel free to wish it was here now, but that was not the point of your OP
  22. Old enough to have owned a commodore 64 with a tape load for programs....ugh. Asheron's call, Lotro, and then here. with a stop over at a few other games like DAOC and wow. 52.
  23. well that's interesting. If that continues to go up and down like that, time to start looking at what would cause low utilization. Perhaps some hardware issue that come up intermittently, or perhaps server load was down and game was more responsive? Really other than that, I have no more ideas. However, glad you got a good WZ in. Hope you won
  24. Regarding multi core use - That is my experience as well. Nothing you can do about that. Just idle capacity, swtor and several other games just don't use multi-core CPU that efficiently. I am looking at a CPU upgrade this fall. Going to get a faster I5 for this reason. For gaming more bang for buck. Regarding 50% on the one core. My I7 is slower, but I will get some cores to 75% or more at times. Sounds like something else is bottlenecking your performance. You use an SSD?
