  1. I thought the thread had passed and died out, so quote's would be pointless at that state.
  2. Well, I'm glad this thread is getting the attention it needs. But I have to be done with it for now... (curse work and sleep for interrupting my gamer life) I'm not convinced the game should keep macro's out. Some people like them, some don't. Some think they're for the skilled, some don't. But there's still no reason for them to be avoided. Simply stating that it's against your personal play style, should not hinder other players from having it.
  3. Macro's used correctly are simply to ease player's who like to use multiple things at the same time, that other players smash really quickly back to back. Rotation macro's indeed are a "one-click" strategy. But if your winning by rotation, and not winning by using skills in situation, that's a dev's problem. I don't want macro's for rotation, I think those are for extremely unskilled players. I want macro's for things that need to be pointlessly spammed. Skills that are not on the global cooldown, but CONSTANTLY pressed with skills that are on global cooldown. Such as, cloak of pain, and dark ward. Perhaps, these skills should have been brought up, instead of macro's. But with macro's these problems wouldn't exist in the first place.
  4. Another ability I would like to macro to my basic attacks... Dark Ward... A 20 second defensive buff with a cooldown of 15 seconds... sure it can be cut short if you're fighting a lot of enemies at once. But most tanking situations is more boss oriented.
  5. I was beginning to think the same thing... SWTOR seems to be turning into money hog, more than it is trying to bring players back. When I joined this game it was so amazing. I left simply because after they ruined my UI setup (completely reset all my action bars when introducing the custom UI's) for alittle while. I came back and the game had been made free to play, my characters had been renamed and tossed around different servers like a whore at a frat party, and the game was begging for my money everywhere... Even though I was already subscribed. I have to pay, to use EMOTES... cmon... But honestly, this is off topic... Macros... where are they?
  6. Those are really neat... But I dislike the Razer Naga, (find it uncomfortable, not multibutton mice, just the razer naga) And I pref. to play SWTOR on my laptop. Even so... allowing macro's, banning macro's... If people are using them, and their not unfair, and they're optional. Then why are they still not in the game!
  7. Those are some really cool macros... But I think there's something about third party programs being against the rules... So however your using those macro's is probably against the rules. So I thank you for supporting macro's, but perhaps you shouldn't so openly admit to currently using them like that.
  8. Macro... that won't let me quote... You just proved you don't even know what a macro is. And your telling players they shouldn't be allowed to have them?
  9. I do understand this isn't much of a game to "go pro" in... But I still like the PvP, and it's far from awful. But let's say I'm just doing PvP for the cool gear for roleplay. I still want to have fun in those Warzone grinds. And it's more fun to be rewarded for your efforts. I try hard, I play hard. Macro's simply let me do things in my own way. Again... It's optional.
  10. That is a very good response... But at the same time, I'm not very big on teamwork PvP. I do realize it's an MMO and should be focused on teamwork. But I don't rely on other players really well. But hindering 1 players performance isn't a good way to fix it. That's the same as saying, "I shouldn't play my best, because my teammate will do the work for me."
  11. Again, macro's are optional and very opinionated. If you think your better without macro's then simply state it to yourself and move on. Say something that explains why other players shouldn't have them, or leave the thread. Otherwise I will just report you for harassment.
  12. Just because YOU don't feel like they are needed, doesn't mean they are not needed. I like to PvP in my games. And in PvP, to go pro, you need to TRY to be the best. Clickin {or hotkey pressing} my undying rage ability, 'then' my PvP medpac, 'then' my reusable chemist medpac, all right behind each other; When none of these are on global cooldown (correct me if im wrong), will make me miss a 1-second window where I could have pressed an attack. With a macro.. I have all these 3 items/skills on 1 button. I press that 1 button and then continue to fight. My proper use of macro's has saved me from pushing 4 buttons in 1 global rotation, into pushing 2. Moments like those are what separates an average PvPer from a high ranking PvPer. And I like to be the best... Yay, power, yay Sith.
  13. They don't want a higher barrier?... Wait a minute... then make constantly activated abilities "that are not on global cooldown" passive. If I had macro's the first thing I would do is make cloak of pain on my marauder macro'd to cast every time I use my basic attack. So it will always be on cooldown. Cloak of pain has a 1 minute cooldown. And last's 30 seconds if used properly... Cmon... So it's a passive buff lasting half it's cooldown? Just make it ALWAYS passive with a half as usefull affect? These are examples of why players use macro's... Why should I have to push cloak of pain constantly WHILE pushing other combat skills. With macro's I can remove it from my action bars and focus on more important defensive cooldowns.
