If I don't get compensation for this downtime, I will not resubscribe.

Buddy, I understand where you're coming from, but EA won't give two toots if you unsub. Think about it. There are thousands and thousands of players. One that vanishes is like a drop of water in the ocean.

You won't. Unless it's down for more than 24 hours you won't for a few hours of down time. I mean I guess you can call customer service and ask but an automatic compensation won't happen.

Back when this was often on servers like Harbinger, never once saw any compensation.

It's not about them not caring, it's about them telling you they wouldn't reimburse and you agreeing to that fact before you created an account.

Good, one less person to have to deal with online then. :D No one I'm sure will miss you if that's how you think you need to be treated. You are not royalty and will not be treated as such. EA has already stated that you will not get compensated for down time because they are not responsible. Either get over it or get out. Simple concept.

The bottom of your comment is very relevant right now. Patience is something we all seem to lack...

And you are telling me this... why? I wasn't the one demanding that the entire system be taken offline. I guess you're right ... it IS a failure to communicate :)

That's the biggest BS I heard since the MMORPG industry began !

Let me put this in perspective, if your fuel or automotive provider is proven at fault by indisputable recall, would you buy the vehicle or the fuel again if you lost time, money or more ?

EA will not issue any refund for any problem. They will correct billing if need be, but that's legal.

Asking for in game stuff will not cost them a penny, and literally, this game will be non existent if they loose another 100k+ subscribers like they did the beginning of last year. If that's the case, the 258 gear is just there to tap the last bit of cash till they announce there will be NO 6.0. it will probably happen anyways though

I'm giggling to myself by the sheer stupidity of people asking for compensation for 1 day of down time. If there are 30 days in a month and your subscription is $15 then a day is worth $.50... would you like cash or a check?

You bring up a really good point. If SWTOR was down for like... several days / weeks or something like that, I'd understand, but 1 day of time feels kinda irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

If you haven't noticed they are down to 2 US servers,

They set weekly goals for their new drawn out progression, and then cut you off at the last minute from finishing your "quota". but its not their fault.

First off, the new servers are mega servers. When the game first came out, the server capacity was about 10 - 15 times smaller than it is right now. So if a server is at medium population, that means that it is about holding 5 full origin servers. They have been that way for a long time. Out of the prior 21 servers, the ones that were mostly dead were the ones that had very few original servers combined (some only had one because they were very specific like pvp-rp). Harbinger was massive because it had a total of 20 ORIGIN SERVERS combined into it, which is why it was always full load for a while. It was to be the west coast PVE server.

Star War's the Old Republic's population is estimated to be close to 200,000 active monthly users, putting it only behind bigger mmos like WoW, ESO, FFXIV and a couple others.

Second off, Bioware doesn't want to the servers to go down as much as we do. They didn't screw you out of your weekly goals. If anything, you did because you had the entire week to complete it and you waited until the last minute. Your ISP could've went out. Your hard drive could've malfunctioned. Your router could've fried. And then you wouldn't've been able to complete your quests. Don't wait until the last minute and blame others.

The reality is they don't post the technical details of why that can't get **** done and get users back into the system again and they sure as **** is not going to tell us anything. It is IT middle management fear ******** and a scenario they don't want to break. By doing something they issue can become worse. So with that in mind the people that are effected by it are just simply f*cked whether they like it or not.

So maybe after the maintenance things will get back online again so trolling here or twitter isn't going to do you any good. What the pompous asses here will whine about is servers go down all the time and now they don't unless you got. a complete moron running things the reality is they attempted a fix with the login session servers and for them to do anything outside of a maintenance window isn't going to happen anywhere. Yes I am pissed about it to I had game plans tonight before the reset. I was 500 points away from a weekly thing to do and was in process of finishing it when I got booted out. Now this is why I un subbed a few years ago is because the BioWare *** hats can't manage sh*t over there.

Wait, wait, wait... seriously???????????? You need to look up Fallout 76 then. Or Bethesda and their Creation Club failure... or Sony Online Entertainment's epic failure for payment information that shut down Star Wars Galaxies... oh, god, I can seriously keep going with this list of 'biggest BS since the MMORPG industry began'
