Had a better chance at upgrades on the old system (like what all other mmo's have). They should have loot drop but have crates as a supplement. I kept a few of the blue 230s because of the enhancement. I had better luck on my alts but I don't know the exact numbers on top of my head. feustay Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I played my 2 sages alternatively depending on their conquest points results, one is level 10, the other is level 7. Out of 17 crates I got 4 useful set pieces 230 w. bonus, a 230 saber, an implant and a couple of useless earpieces w. accuracy (already capped). I got a second chest piece w. set bonus, a duplicate. Also got a pet... Luck has been good with me so far, but I am dreading an update drought at some point. I am by far the luckiest in my guild, as well: most of them have higher Command levels than me, but haven't got anything useful yet. My toons are in a mix of vendor purple 208s and 216s, and all I have got is greens with the wrong stats (that are worse than what I have anyway), rep tokens for stuff I maxed out two expansions ago and a ton of orange shells. I play mostly solo, all the things I do I can manage with the gear I have, and I'm collecting the mats to make myself purple 228 stuff across all my toons so I at least get some progression out of the game. But if I was into PvP or raiding where gear is more important, I would be a lot more angry about it all, because it would gate enjoyment of the game for those people. As it is, I can't really see the point in GC at all for me, and this is the first time I have really complained about the game since the start. But it's still boring as *insert expletive* and makes me hate playing my two 70s. Juggy, 12 crates: three set bonus items (bracers, gloves, head), one 230 weapon, 228 pants that were better than I was wearing, and a bunch of crafting specs I haven't bothered to level crafters up for. Also gotten enough random pieces I can't use to get my shield up to almost-228 standards. Duplicate bracers I disintegrated. Guardian, 12 crates: same three set bonus items, two 230 implants, and a 228 focus. There might be another thing or two. Also gotten duplicate bracers I disintegrated. I don't care how good my luck is. I'm forced to do things I hate to try to gear up enough for KOTET. I've run boring dailies that make me hate the universe. I've done so many heroics I want to throw my keyboard through the wall. Bleah, it sucks. Worse, I keep watching the stupid bar like I'm at the casino. It's not fun-- it's compulsion pure and simple. The system doesn't cater to the better angels of human nature, unfortunately. I miss crystals and comms. Playing out the rest of my subscription doing what I enjoy-- leveling alts. I've lost more time than I will ever get back in rewards or entertainment because of the RNG gearing as well as most all the content for that RNG crate is extremely old and stale. My guildy has openned about 40ish and zero set pieces. I am that guildie...so far 54 crates and one Boundless Ages Relic (epic fail)...and I received a Serendipitous Assault relic...no set pieces or other purple gear. casigarian Posted December 8, 2016 Share Posted December 8, 2016 The saddest thing about this RNG system for me is that I no longer play the game for fun...pre 5.0 18 toons all level 65 and some I did pvp on (jugg and sorcs pvp rank 78) ,some I did GSF on (6 fully maxed ships), some were gatherers and crafters, merc dps and operative or sorc heals for progression raids (3 toons full 224 gear)...you get the point Bioware I play your game....and now all I can do is play my merc and commando in the hopes of getting some set gear so we can go back to working on our HM and NIM proogression.
