squirrelballz
Don't hold your breath. LOL you are absolutely correct. So many people don't understand EA game changes there is always one rule and response to any change ever made: "Working As Intended"
KLGChaos
As someone who recently re-subbed a couple months ago after a three year hiatus, the packs have been a godsend for me, though I understand players who've been around for a while would be disappointed by the disproportionately high amount of cubes that drop. I've gotten a few cool mounts and a couple nice resting items (vending machine is my new favorite) from the old packs, though I've also gotten a high amount of emotes and titles and several armor sets. Something I've noticed is that though all the old armor sets are labeled bronze, they can actually be old silver/gold sets (for example, I got the Overloaded Interrogator set, which was silver). I will admit, there are far too many decorations, dyes, emotes and titles that come from those cubes and not enough of the other stuff. xxIncubixx
And yet people will still buy the packs because even if one guy buys its already lucrative... its literaly making money out of thin air.
Jedi_riches
Sure, here's your official response.... Working as intended! Cartel Market is intended for you to spend money on, you are spending money on it, ergo it's working. BioWare is really taking the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition to heart... # 9: Opportunity plus instinct equals profit..... man some business guy had the instincts to see an opportunity for decreased rewards per pack thereby leading to increased spending on packs to get the rewards. #13: Anything worth doing is worth doing for money...... hey if you're going to make a crappy change mind as well make money from doing it am I right? #19 (and probably most important): Satisfaction is not guaranteed.....nuff said? yeah, nuff said. #284: Deep down everyone's a Ferengi......... true dat. You forgot rule of acquisition no.1 "once you have their money you never give it back" But yeah as I logged in last night I noticed my free coins were about the amount of a hypercrate so I though why not, pretty much everything I got from a chance cube is stuff I would have "trashed" the first time it was available the only OK thing was the tuxedo set (I already own but I will check if its worth anything on GTN before scrapping). I got a few more of the new stuff than I expected I got 2/3 parts of the exiled jedi set (which I want anyway) and 1 or 2 pieces of a few of the other sets. I hope your "metrics" show that I only purchased the pack as I had enough free coins and that I would not spend a single penny of real money for this pack not when it was 95% rubbish, for the record I actually like the pack itself just that's not the items I am actually getting. buildmorepylons
I am a fairly new player, in the past two months I've achieved level 65, and noticed a trend, which resulted in me cancelling my subscription just now. All of the items I find to be desirable either currently exist, or used to (only) exist, in the Cartel Market. This means that, unlike games, we are not playing a game to achieve items, we just sit in our respective fleets, take out our wallets, and gamble against an unknown, unaudited gambling algorithm, until we get what we desire. With the implementation of these cubes, it's hit a new low. I am going back to a certain game with a huge subscriber base, a subscriber base that is retained as they understand something that EA do not: Players want to play the game, players are not here to play in a casino, players wish to obtain items based on skill and merit. Speaking with your wallet is the only way EA will listen, I suggest you all do the same as myself and cancel your subscription (else, do not buy Cartel Market items). jankiel
A review of history would illustrate for you that any official response will not be credible, and their actions afterwards will contradict any official response...followed by player rage.. followed by studio silence.. Any veteran player knows I am right about this. Yep. Slot machine debacle anyone?
Friend-Referral
I don't think we'll get anything until the devs see lots of people stop buying this trash.
Icestar
The chance cube was a very, very bad idea! I want new items in the pack, not end up with tons of old useless items after buying three hypercrates!
Joesixxpack
Can We Get and Offical Response to the New Packs Don't be silly, they're not even in the office to read this. They're out shopping this week for convertible caddys with longhorns on the hood, diamond-studded grills, and trained elephants to carry them to meetings around the office. Maybe after they get back they'll express their official thanks to all of the chumps that bought the extra-random grab bags this week. akdonkey
I broke Down and purchased a crate. Worst mistake ever. I got mostly Chance cubes that gave me older items. I think the chance cube should be sold separately. Until something has changed I wont buy anymore. I feel I was ripped off. I did not track all the items I felt everyone else has done a good job of that.
QuiveringPotato
The thing about the Chance Cubes is that they're not necessarily bad, however, I'm fairly certain people expected it the drop rate for the chance cubes to be FAR lower. Like, if you got a hypercrate, out of 60 chances for new items or a cube, you should've gotten around 50 new items and 10 chance cubes. On top of that, Bioware even stated that the chance cubes had a higher chance to drop silver/gold items when this is just not the case, most people are reporting a good ~90% of the items from chance cubes have been bronze. I opened a hypercrate, got like 8 new items. 5 of which were the exact same Darth Skotia supplementary box, I got 2 crystals, and then the Koensayr mount. Literally everything else were chance cubes. And out of those? The only silver I got was a military uxibeast. EDIT: Lol, just got on TEH to check the GTN, there are only TWO arbiter sabers listed, both at 50 mil. That is a fairly good indicator of how low the drop rate on these things is. Edited February 11, 2016 by QuiveringPotato
XiamaraSimi
Hopefully others will follow suit. I'm not big on the whole "Real Money for Pixels" thing, but I can appreciate the welling anger and frustration. Let's face it, shelling out cash - or cash equivalents - for (more often than not) old stuff instead of new items is pretty ******. Well i replied with my agreement of the crappiness of the Crap Crates.

Kaisernick
soo glad i used my stipend to buy the 5 pack and not waste real money. i know the crates have always been a gamble but a gamble that is soo stacked against you isn't fun or worth it. Legolose
I think you hit the nail on the head. However, I would like there to be some sort of recompense for those of us who spent money figuring out just how epically they've screwed the pooch. Thank you very much for your post! ^^Agree^^ I cant believe how much old junk I got out of the packs, out of opening 35 packs I got 2 new pets,,,,, That's it ,,,, 2 freaking new pets:mad::mad: ,,, all the other crap I got was nothing but old junk, If this crap isn't changed or we are not compensated then those where the last packs I will ever get.... And all I was shooting for was the new saber Edited February 11, 2016 by Legolose
Taramayne
Here's the thing... ...we knew how the packs were going to be long in advance, and the negative feedback was pretty strong. Nonetheless as soon as they dropped people were ignoring the warnings and snapping up hypercrates like penny candy and then freaking out when exactly what we suspected was going to happen... happened. So I'm gonna go ahead and say... ..We told you so. Stop buying the damn things.
wvwraith
I used my free ccs and got 4 packs. I got 4 chance cubes and ended up getting junk. Seems the packs just keep getting worse in terms of value. Not to mention a lot of the items keep getting uglier as well. Come on devs, there could be reek mounts, etc. Cool stuff and not these junk items you keep coming out with.
