  1. It doesn't help that nearly every healer you see is a Sorc. I didn't realize how strong they were until I tried to solo one as a dps, as I'm still fairly new to PvP (actually had to get a set of 190 gear just to get the expertise buff). Against an Agent healer or Merc I could deal damage. Maybe not kill them, but deal a decent amount of damage and keep them from really focusing on the rest of the group. Sorcs (and I assume Sages) are a different matter. Immunity bubbles, massive mobility, able to take to 2-3 dps while healing themselves and keeping the party up seems a bit ridiculous.
  2. If it's anything like my experience today, Pubs are complete idiots. Mark the healer. Shout out "focus healer". Everyone ignores healer but me. 5 matches like that of the empire just destroying people. Reminds me of why I gave up on PvP in MMOs in the first place. Lol.
  3. I did a lot of exploration during the leveling process. When I'm farming something like heroics, however, I find the priority transports to be a godsend. I'd much rather quickly go from heroic to heroic than waste a lot of time trying to get through trash packs or empty fields just to get to the next heroic zone.
  4. It's always been that way in this game. I remember when it first came out there were threads talking about how there was way too much knockback. It made farming trash mobs a chore. My three least favorite are-- 1) The Giant Swing-- you get knocked about 15 yards and land on your back, getting up slowly, 2) The Pinball Machine-- for a ranged character, you get pulled in and subsequently knocked back a few feet and 3) The Sniper-- they lay you out on your butt for a handful of seconds while they target your head. They also uncannily seem to time them so they're used during a channeled ability.
  5. Yeah... While talking to him isn't horrible and he seems decent enough, he obviously shows a "do what it takes at all costs, even if it gets me and my men killed" attitude that is just terrible. On Hoth, I actually didn't realize that depending on where you chose to go changes the outcome of the major fight. I figure taking on an "Immortal" creature would be better for me than the squad. Well, it didn't work out as planned-- and he didn't seem to care that his entire squad was massacred. He just sees his people as numbers. I don't like him but I don't really hate him either. I'm just ambivalent to him. I actually disliked Doc more because he's just a dick.
  6. Depends on the spec for Sentinel. While Clashing Blast feels great on my Sentinel, Blade Rush feels terrible compared to the ability it replaces-- Slash. Blade Dance isn't terrible, but I find lightsabers in general lack a sense of impact, while I link a little less to animations than I do to poor weapon sounds. To use my above example, Slash has a satisfying "thwack, thwack" when the blades hit. Blade Rush makes a very small noise that doesn't even really align with the animation and can be hard to really hear among the other sound effects. Almost feels like I'm missing (though with 110% accuracy, I know I'm not).
  7. I will say one of the things I liked about The Secret World was its "single server" technology. It had different worlds that were your characters' home worlds, but you could join friends on other worlds by meeting up with them at any time. It was nice because if I had different friends who played on different worlds, we could all get together and do something like dungeon runs or raiding. I'm not sure how they'd be able to apply that to something like SWTOR with PvP and PVE servers unless they made separate ones for those players and kept them from interacting.
  8. Only thing I'm looking forward to is the exiled revolutionary's glasses. Nothing else really catches my eye.
  9. I was actually surprised myself, but all 28 sold within the 24 period they were up. Helped pay for that Volatile Conqueror's Lightsaber that I found for half price on the GTN. It had the off-hand only glitch, which is why is was cheap, but I was able to get around that by binding it to my Sentiel and the getting new ones from my weapon collection that worked for both hands.
  10. I actually sold 28 cubes at $299k a piece, so on my server it's true.
  11. I agree. Ataru form doesn't feel as acrobatic as it should. Hell, the flip of Cauterize from Watchman is more acrobatic. I also can't stand the animation (and lack of impact) of Blade Rush and find Slash much more appealing. Well, consider Jedi are loosely based on Shaolin Monks, I'm not surprised the names of the forms has an Asian flair to them.
  12. I find Combat Sentinel to be difficult (but fun) because it follows much more of a priority system, along with the added challenge of melee. With my Gunnery Commando, I can pretty much sit back and have a easy, predictable rotation with very little to stop my attacks, except maybe a Grav round. With Sentinel, boss movement can total throw a rotation off, which is why I never rely on test dummies for the full picture of dps-- for example, in FFXIV, Machinists were parsing low on dummies, but we're rocking in actual content because they had lot of long range instant casts when play properly.
  13. I personally love Ardor with Fleetfooted. It's not only great for speeding up fp runs, the speed and root break can help get out of sticky situations. A good example is the CZ-8X fight. When that green electrity goes out, I can use Transensdence to break the slow and get myself and the party out quickly. If it reels me back in, Transendence is usually still going and I can escape quickly once again. Most of our utilities are definitely a bit "meh", though, as they require being attacked for a lot of them. But, a lot of utilities are "meh" for other classes as well.
  14. I love my SSD. Have my operating system on it for quick boots. The problem is, if you have a lot of games like I do, space is gone quickly. Most of my games are assigned to my 2TB HDD instead. I think SWTOR is as wel, but my PC moves fast enough that I don't have long load times anyway, especially compared to some I've seen.
  15. I mostly used my PC for gaming. Don't do any rendering or video encoding, so I should be safe. I may have to take a look at my BIOS again, though I was able to change the cpu core speeds, and CPU-Z shows that I can 4.2 after changing to cores from auto to 42, my multiplier is still at 12 because I couldn't find anything in the BIOS to change it. Base Clock was set at 1.25 on 100mhz, so that might be it, but I'm not sure. It's a learning process.
