  1. It doesn't help that nearly every healer you see is a Sorc. I didn't realize how strong they were until I tried to solo one as a dps, as I'm still fairly new to PvP (actually had to get a set of 190 gear just to get the expertise buff). Against an Agent healer or Merc I could deal damage. Maybe not kill them, but deal a decent amount of damage and keep them from really focusing on the rest of the group. Sorcs (and I assume Sages) are a different matter. Immunity bubbles, massive mobility, able to take to 2-3 dps while healing themselves and keeping the party up seems a bit ridiculous.
  2. If it's anything like my experience today, Pubs are complete idiots. Mark the healer. Shout out "focus healer". Everyone ignores healer but me. 5 matches like that of the empire just destroying people. Reminds me of why I gave up on PvP in MMOs in the first place. Lol.
  3. I did a lot of exploration during the leveling process. When I'm farming something like heroics, however, I find the priority transports to be a godsend. I'd much rather quickly go from heroic to heroic than waste a lot of time trying to get through trash packs or empty fields just to get to the next heroic zone.
  4. It's always been that way in this game. I remember when it first came out there were threads talking about how there was way too much knockback. It made farming trash mobs a chore. My three least favorite are-- 1) The Giant Swing-- you get knocked about 15 yards and land on your back, getting up slowly, 2) The Pinball Machine-- for a ranged character, you get pulled in and subsequently knocked back a few feet and 3) The Sniper-- they lay you out on your butt for a handful of seconds while they target your head. They also uncannily seem to time them so they're used during a channeled ability.
  5. Yeah... While talking to him isn't horrible and he seems decent enough, he obviously shows a "do what it takes at all costs, even if it gets me and my men killed" attitude that is just terrible. On Hoth, I actually didn't realize that depending on where you chose to go changes the outcome of the major fight. I figure taking on an "Immortal" creature would be better for me than the squad. Well, it didn't work out as planned-- and he didn't seem to care that his entire squad was massacred. He just sees his people as numbers. I don't like him but I don't really hate him either. I'm just ambivalent to him. I actually disliked Doc more because he's just a dick.
  6. Depends on the spec for Sentinel. While Clashing Blast feels great on my Sentinel, Blade Rush feels terrible compared to the ability it replaces-- Slash. Blade Dance isn't terrible, but I find lightsabers in general lack a sense of impact, while I link a little less to animations than I do to poor weapon sounds. To use my above example, Slash has a satisfying "thwack, thwack" when the blades hit. Blade Rush makes a very small noise that doesn't even really align with the animation and can be hard to really hear among the other sound effects. Almost feels like I'm missing (though with 110% accuracy, I know I'm not).
  7. I will say one of the things I liked about The Secret World was its "single server" technology. It had different worlds that were your characters' home worlds, but you could join friends on other worlds by meeting up with them at any time. It was nice because if I had different friends who played on different worlds, we could all get together and do something like dungeon runs or raiding. I'm not sure how they'd be able to apply that to something like SWTOR with PvP and PVE servers unless they made separate ones for those players and kept them from interacting.
  8. Only thing I'm looking forward to is the exiled revolutionary's glasses. Nothing else really catches my eye.
  9. I was actually surprised myself, but all 28 sold within the 24 period they were up. Helped pay for that Volatile Conqueror's Lightsaber that I found for half price on the GTN. It had the off-hand only glitch, which is why is was cheap, but I was able to get around that by binding it to my Sentiel and the getting new ones from my weapon collection that worked for both hands.
  10. I actually sold 28 cubes at $299k a piece, so on my server it's true.
  11. I agree. Ataru form doesn't feel as acrobatic as it should. Hell, the flip of Cauterize from Watchman is more acrobatic. I also can't stand the animation (and lack of impact) of Blade Rush and find Slash much more appealing. Well, consider Jedi are loosely based on Shaolin Monks, I'm not surprised the names of the forms has an Asian flair to them.
  12. I find Combat Sentinel to be difficult (but fun) because it follows much more of a priority system, along with the added challenge of melee. With my Gunnery Commando, I can pretty much sit back and have a easy, predictable rotation with very little to stop my attacks, except maybe a Grav round. With Sentinel, boss movement can total throw a rotation off, which is why I never rely on test dummies for the full picture of dps-- for example, in FFXIV, Machinists were parsing low on dummies, but we're rocking in actual content because they had lot of long range instant casts when play properly.
  13. I personally love Ardor with Fleetfooted. It's not only great for speeding up fp runs, the speed and root break can help get out of sticky situations. A good example is the CZ-8X fight. When that green electrity goes out, I can use Transensdence to break the slow and get myself and the party out quickly. If it reels me back in, Transendence is usually still going and I can escape quickly once again. Most of our utilities are definitely a bit "meh", though, as they require being attacked for a lot of them. But, a lot of utilities are "meh" for other classes as well.
  14. I love my SSD. Have my operating system on it for quick boots. The problem is, if you have a lot of games like I do, space is gone quickly. Most of my games are assigned to my 2TB HDD instead. I think SWTOR is as wel, but my PC moves fast enough that I don't have long load times anyway, especially compared to some I've seen.
  15. I mostly used my PC for gaming. Don't do any rendering or video encoding, so I should be safe. I may have to take a look at my BIOS again, though I was able to change the cpu core speeds, and CPU-Z shows that I can 4.2 after changing to cores from auto to 42, my multiplier is still at 12 because I couldn't find anything in the BIOS to change it. Base Clock was set at 1.25 on 100mhz, so that might be it, but I'm not sure. It's a learning process.
  16. So, I was browsing through the GTN today looking at different lightsabers. Two of the most popular seem to be the current Arbiter's (40-50 million) and right behind that, the Volatile Conqueror's (30-40 million). So imagine my surprise when I found to Volatile for only 14.5 million and I snatched it up. I went to equip it on my main hand and it kept saying "invalid slot". So, I moused over it and it said "Off Hand" and that's it, though I know it was supposed to be for both main and off. Thankfully, I was playing my Sentinel, was able to equip it in my off hand slot to add it to my collection and then retrieve a couple of fresh ones which allowed for main hand use as well. Has anyone else seen this before? I heard it had something to do with off-hand hilts being put in an item, but this was an unbound item with nothing in it but the crystal it came with.
  17. The only time I really miss a knockback is in Flashpoints where enemies can be knocked off ledges. Otherwise, I'd rather stay in melee. I actually get annoyed during fights where the enemy has a lot of knockbacks and it makes me grateful for Transendence.
  18. I actually got 28 cubes out of one hypercrates. Sold all the cubes for 299k each. Made about 7.5 million credits off them. Still nowhere near enough to get the lightsaber, which is going for 40 million plus, so I pretty much gave up on getting it. Ill buy it when it inevitably comes to the market, if I still want it by then. I'm happy with my Blademaster Sabers (my favorite sounding ones) or Ziost Guardians (love the lightning), rocking those hot orange crystals.
  19. I play DPS. While I agree it seems like there's a lot of toxic players that play DPS, I think its more due to the fact that there's a lot more DPS players than tanks or healers. In all the MMOs I've played, I've seen my fair share of toxic players across the entire trilogy. Tanks who speed pull without caring if the group is ready or not and then abandoning the group or insta-kicking players who they feel aren't moving fast enough (there was a big debate about this on the FFXIV forums). I've seen healers who actually refuse to heal DPS at all in some games because they expect them to play perfectly at all times and take no damage (The Secret World got a lot of this). We spend so much time in this world dividing people into classes and slapping labels on them, which then evolves into entire groups being associated with the actions of individual people. It's why politics are so messed up right now. If you say anything in disagreement with someone else, you're automatically labeled an extreme conservative or liberal , even if you're actually very moderate. Everyone is different.
  20. Just started my Gunslinger and it was the first thing I noticed during the main quest as I got harpooned and pulled out of cover. I have to say, it's really annoying.
  21. I've got a Corsair Hydro H60 I believe, which was the best one I could buy at the time (and still fit). It also has dual 120mm ultra-quiet fans in the front of the case. I just realized that there's an option in the BIOS called "Asus Optimal" which supposedly boosts performance, but not sure if it overclocks on its own or not. i've been seeing different opinions on different forums. Edit: So, after checking through the BIOS, my target turbo mode speed is over 4.0 without me even touching anything. I can adjust the ratio manually, so I went in and adjusted the CPU core speed to 42 and now I'm running at 4.2... Voltage and heat seem fine, but I'll keep an eye on them. On the bright side, I can max out shadow maps without slowdown now! Thanks for all the help!
  22. @TX_Angel: I haven't done any over clocking with it. I've always been afraid to blow something up. Lol. Its kind of fun that my dad actually tinkers with it, but I haven't yet. I'll have to look up some tutorials on it and see if I can push it a little further. I may need to look at a new power source. I currently have an 850w gold.
  23. Thanks for the input! I've got an Asus X-99 Deluxe 6 core motherboard, i7 5280k with 16 GB DDR4 Ripjaws. Figured 16 would be enough to get me through for a while, but I actually turned shadows up to max at one point and was a pretty big drop in framerate on my tv. The tv is 4K, though I play in 1080p because fonts and menus are rendered so small if I don't. I actually just ordered my new monitor after doing some more research: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PXYRMPE/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1 34" inch Dell Ultrawide 21:9 with a curved screen. It was on sale for about $800 and I've actually heard a lot of good things about Dell's monitors. I don't mind having the lower pixel density than 4K-- I feel the 21:9 will give better performance. It'll be nice-- also picked up a Naga Chroma Epic mouse and Chroma keyboard, a new gaming desk and spent a few hundred on a good quality ergonomic PC chair.
  24. I've got two GTX980s in SLI and the game runs great on my 52" 1080p tv unles I turn shadows up too high, which seems to cause issues. I actually want to pick up a 21:9 monitor myself, but not sure on the size or if I want curved or flat. I'll only be a couple feet away from the monitor at my desk, so 34" might be overkill.
  25. I'd agree with you... If they weren't going for 50-100 million credits.
