Crit no longer comes in the mod slot. Only power and defense. They shuffled things around in 4.0. That said this was to demonstrate point for point dps return at a fixed starting stat budget. As he noted his overall optimal stats will be released later and reachable (or close to optimal) by multiple strategies including augments/crystals/enhancements. I also happen to have every color of crit crystal from the cartel market for sale. I am planning to post the optimal stats for 216, 220, and 224. It is a lot of work to get it together and checked in the short timespan we have had so far which is why I'm not done yet. I will be putting some time in this weekend to try and get most of my back end work done. For this post I had preplanned it and had the code to auto generate the data. I was just missing the changed inputs until 4.0 was actually released and I could log in and check my characters. (That and get to 65 to find the base stats) As before I have no plans to do pvp gear. This is because many of my assumptions are only valid in a pve setting (and only against the fantasy training dummy I simulate) Pvp has much different assumptions and goals and has a far wider range of inputs and match ups than pve. It is never enough to say I want optimal stats, you also have to state the exact situation to optimize toward. With these caveats that i have no idea on pvp, I would not at all be surprised is the best choice for augments in pvp was tertiary stats as well. (Don't discount alacrity in pvp, what if your move happens before your opponet for a key burst or stun?) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am guessing since it is 616 crit proc vs 924 power/mastery at the 216 ilvl relics, that the power/mastery relics still prove to be stronger, anyone able to confirm? Dhurwin Posted October 24, 2015 Share Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) I don't presume to know absolutely anything about the other roles, but for Sorc healing, you want a couple power augments. My playstyle min/max's at 6 power augs, 3 crit augs, and 4 alacrity augs for PvE, and 5 power, 4 crit, 5 alacrity, for PvP. At the bare minimum a Sorc healer would want is 4 power augs. Power crystals are also still superior to crit for Sorc healers as well. If you want to see the math, I can PM you with a link. Since we have no use for accuracy, we have 685 additional tertiary stats to spend on Critical or Alacrity which will push the curves very far out. I don't want to go too high beyond 10% alacrity because of server lag, and at 38%+ critical I fear the DR will be so low that power or mastery augments would be a better choice. For now, I'm not yet convinced enough to fully augment my gear with purple augments but I'm looking forward to your more detailed post with formulas. Below I reposted the exercise from the first post but using Corruption | Seer. (just finished updating that class) I used Corruption | Seer as the example for the following reasons: It is a Healer class that has 8-10% of its total HPS output in moves that cannot crit (Static Barrier). Its rotation did not change in 4.0 unlike Mercenaries (-1 GCD on Healing Scan CD) and Operatives (+3s on Kolto Probes) They have a 5% buff to Bonus Healing which further increases the value of Mastery and Power. Special Note: Healing is currently attempting to optimize around maximizing healing around 3 targets; that is why the HPS values look so large. It also makes assumptions that the goal is purely to maximize HPS with no regards to over healing or target prioritization. Pre-Augments, a character in all 220 ilvl would have the following Stat Budget including an active purple Versitile Anodyne Stim, all Datacrons and all class buffs: Concealment Operative 5158 Mastery (4912 before buff) 2779 Power (does not include crystals) 1600 Tertiary (Critical + Accuracy + Alactrity) 82 Crystals (Power or Critical) 1022 Augments (any stat) To show that Critical and Alacrity Augments are now the best augments to use, I will go through a character's augment choices one by one until all 14 augments and both crystals have been chosen. The results from the optimal stats post test every possible combination of crystal, augment and enhancement. This allows for finer tuned results that reflect the true maximum. If you look back at my assumptions, I had preset an evenly divided set of enhancements. This is just because I wanted to give a closer look at augments. Again, the methodology I usually use relys on testing each combination individually instead of the additive stat distribution shown here. Gearing to keep in mind: Crystals (41) ~=~ 1/2 Augment (73) Augments (73) ~=~ 1/2 Enhancement (152->160->168) Because they are not exact multiples of each other, mixing and matching can be used to reach different number combinations. But they are close enough that all optimal stat combinations end up within an Enhancement of each other. Yes but DV gives not only a critical chance % increase but also a surge % increase as well. And outside that autocrit is the question of ~600 stat vs ~900 stat and the dps value of each. PVE it makes no sense at all to pimp up the initial autocrit and then have downright weaker dps for the fight. PVP, if you have the luxury of holding back core abilities or sitting in stealth or alone at a node so everything can be lined up it could be worth to pimp that autocrit.
