Bioware, when can we get a word on player housing?

Guild ships will come before any sort of additional player housing.

I am sure Bioware along with most players (vast majority) feel any more player housing should be WAY down the list of priorities. So far down they may need to make a new bottom for it.

really and you validate this how???

FACT IS housing is a top requested item here

Not the most requested (thats pazaak)

but its easily in the top 5

SWG, and whiny ex SWG people who want to turn this into the next SWG are failures. This game, hardly so.

You want player housing, go play minecraft. And stop wasting our time with worthless posts.

And yet this game went FTP in less then a year, while SWG survived 8 years (would have lasted more if EAware didnt force Lucas to cut the license from SOE) on sybscription.

Talk is cheap

Knew I sniffed out an EX SWG whiner.

Game went FTP and is now raking in cash. In other words, Bioware actually took a risk that paid off *cough* CU *Cough*NGE*Cough* Digitial trading card game *Cough*

SWG, and the people who want this game to be that, are faulures.

I will not stoop down to your level and throw insults on players because of what MMO they played. But I will tell you this right now the Cartel Market development will outstrip content development very soon. So have fun wasting ur money pack that do not give you anything. At least SWG gave you bunch of trading cards with item if you ever bough a pack. Here you get junk.

Oh look another ex SWG player winging about their lost game.

Let me spell this out for you.

This....is....NOT....SWG. Is that simple enough for you? Now I personally wouldn't mind the ability to decorate ships, but cities? No thanks. Reason is they would be abandoned and a waist of developer time when there are much more important things that need to be addressed right now. So please take your QQ somewhere else.

I agree with the purpose of this thread, and find all the silly "this is not SWG" crap irrelevant. You undermine your point with this post. This is not your thread. This is a thread you OP'd on a game forum. You do not own it, and you have no control over the ideas expressed therein.

If you believe in the question posed by this thread, try to keep your ego out of the discussion.

I would love to see player housing added, but i'd like to see it done right. Don't just give us generic houses with afew cosmetic upgrades via the Cartel market, that's not much better than the ship is now. I'd personally prefer the devs spend the time making open flight space combat, pazaak, and pod racing. If they add player housing, make it so we can design it abit as far as what rooms and decorations can go where and give us something to do there. Give us our pvp/pve daily missions via some upgrading terminal in our homes like a news report on tv type deal. Give us the ability to turn our garage's or side rooms into pazaak matches where we can invite our friends over. give us mini games, old SW arcade games, or something to fill our homes with to give us something to do. I want player housing bad and would invest alot of time/money into it... but I feel like they need to give us something to do in our homes that give it heart and soul before they just give us empty homes that are just colorful reskins of our ships.

It is your right to post your opinion but it is also my right to post mine. Also as another poster pointed put you do not own the thread people are free to post what ever they want to while staying within the rules. So as such I stand by what I said and will continue to post as I see fit. Edited by theUndead

Everyone knows (or apparently not) that our ships are going to be the closest thing to player housing we will ever get. Maybe we'll be able to decorate them. Maybe we'll be able to get different kinds. Maybe we'll have guild cap ships. But houses? Not gonna happen. If you think that's fail....oh well. It isn't going to change. Might as well pack up and go because we're not getting houses. Plain and simple. Oh, and BTW, SWG was garbage even before the NGE. SWGEMU is that a way ------------------->>>

Posting your thoughts/imaginings as fact is a bit like spitting on the sidewalk? Dirty and disgusting habit, but most folk don't notice and nobody respects it.

im sure someone brought this up before, but you can't even sit 99% of the chairs in swtor. Player housing is probably something the devs get drunk over and say "that'd be nice".

Anyways, you gotta understand swg was a game where crafting/housing were integral parts of the game. Swtor just isn't like that, it's a raid n wait game. Raid get your stuff, wait for new stuff to raid, replace your current stuff.

Realistically , since they announced it i am hoping the ultra secret space combat revamp makes living in space worthwhile. I'd just like to see more ships added and some minor customizations first. I don't ever see this game employing any depth to crafting and those types of things. I do miss the fact i could enjoy swg without ever firing a single weapon (crafter, entertainer, housing specialist here). THere was a reason every town ended up completely empty swg though. Nothing was more sad than coming back to that game and seeing thousands of houses in empty ghost towns.

im enjoying my time back in swtor but it's only for pvp. If i want to pve there are better choices.

Thats exactly my problem. The star wars univer isnt just raid and get gear, rinse and repeat. I want a living breathing universe. With $300 million they werent able to that, then I really doubt the compentency of the developers.

It's a fairly safe assumption if you think about it logically. For many classes (if not most classes) having a permanent house would be immersion breaking.

My ship has a bed, storage for personal items and a droid who cooks my meals. As a galactic hero cruising around from one hot-spot to the next, my ship is my home. That said, the lack of a shower and toilet can be an inconvenience.

You can't say swg here, have you learned nothing since beta

SWG being mentioned even once negates any productive arguments and just brings out the trolls that probably never even played it

True. Sadly, now that it's gone, people are remembering some of the things that made it so great and set it apart from anything else. Can I have my game back now? =P

while i agree with you. The devs specifically stated they were making a story driven game, and that you should not expect anything swg related. yet a lot of us who left pre nge etc, still hoped for some sort of "universe" feeling.

i am not hating on this game, i just had to learn to play it for what it was. I am 35 years old, started off in eq, and wow. If i wanted to raid and dungeon only i'd stay with wow. I am sorry bioware they do it better. A game that old has much more convenience for that type of thing than what you offer.

What i do love is a f'ing lightsaber in my hands and punishing republic scum. I make up my own story when i play and just warzone. I stay away from crafting, pve, space combat. I cannot bring myself to enjoy something that i grew tired of years ago when wrath of the lich king came out.

I will be the first person to flock to a sci-fi mmo that brings me crafting, housing, and living off being social. That is all, why we play mmo's. People that want to solo can play kotor.

An official statement would be nice. Is it in the future of this game (please tell me it is)?

This will never happen unfortunately and if it does, I'll roll over in my grave. Player ships are BW version of "housing" which is a laughing stock.

Every time I run The Esseles FP, I notice that in the lounge before it begins is a sabacc table that is highlighted blue; when you click on it the caption reads "Sabacc table not taking new players at this time."

I see that as an indication the devs planned to add sabacc and pazaak, but just ran out of time. And with everything that happened in this game's history, that time never came back,

If they can't add a card game that they already seemed to have assets in place for, how would they add housing?

I love that you imagine your fantasies are "a safe assumption" and logical? What is immersion braking about having an origin or home? Your particular fantasies involve living on your ship, so the rest of our imaginations are invalid?
